As a very happy parent, I too would like to speak up. As an educator, I did extensive research before selecting child care for my daughters. This is an excellent center that has earned and retains the NAEYC accreditation (no small feat!). I cannot speak for every classroom at every level, but I have experienced the fabulous care that my daughters have experienced at the Infant though Preschool 1 levels. The Infant staff is phenomenal- they are professional, loving, and attentive, and I can't speak highly enough of the quality of care that both of my daughters have received with them. Toddler 1 and Toddler 2 were a good transition between infancy and preschool, and now we LOVE our daughter's Preschool 1 class. Her day is filled with so much fun and learning... of course they do free play at various times throughout the day, but they are also learning wonderful, age-appropriate structured lessons about science, social studies, getting along with others, potty training, etc. They do so many arts and crafts that we don't even have room to display it all, and they do all of it with a spirit of fun. They have visits from fun people like petting zoos, the reptile guy, and magic shows on occasion, and my oldest takes dance class and field trips as well. I do not know what the older classes are like, but our experiences at Richard Blake over the past 2 1/2 years have been wonderful.

As a new member to insider pages I was compelled to write a comment regarding my experience as a parent of a graduate of this outstanding childcare program. I must share that the loving and consistently high quality care was amazing. The staff were well trained and attentive and supported my daughter through each transition she made while in attendance. It is a testimony to their commitment to child care because many of the staff and most importantly the director are still with the program. If a parent currently enrolled is not comfortable I am sure the director would meet with the family. Everyone was so helpful and caring!

I enrolled my kid in this center last month and am very disappointed. I was told that they follow creative curriculum so I expected some kind of teaching going on but nothing so far. The only thing they are doing is babysitting. Teachers are far from teaching, I observed one teacher reading a book and as an educator myself became very upset. She read the book so fast I even I was not able to follow the content, let alone the children themselves. Basically the only thing going on is free play and nothing else. Not even some kind of arts and cratfs activities. Snacks provided by the center are very poor. I am planning to talk to the center as soon as I confirm my first impressions.

I looked at this day care center when deciding where to enroll my infant son for full time day care. My first impression was that the center was very clean and the staff seems very nice. There were 2 infant rooms, although they were not divided by age or any other factor. The teachers there seemed very grandmotherly, which I consider a good quality for a day care provider. The rooms were neat and organized. They seemed to have a good program for the infants in terms of bed checks, games, songs, tummy time, etc. Pricing was reasonable considering other places in the area. Security was decent, although you had to wait for someone to be at the front desk to be buzzed in, and it never seemed like there were enough people staffing that desk.
