I have eaten at Rossi's perhaps 25 times over the last 20 years since moving to the Chambersburg section of Trenton. I don't think I will be eating there again anytime soon. My date was late as she was not familiar with the somewhat confusing geography of 'the burg'. I was charged separately for each pump soda water while I waited. My date ordered a white wine. We had to pay the bar bill when seated for dinner(thirty minutes later) and the wine was very, very overpriced, and the bartender very, very surly when questioned about NY prices come to Trenton. We were seated next to the kitchen door (the worst seat in any restaurant) despite requesting other wise (there were others seats available). A bare incandescent light could not be extinguished despite it's making us both uncomfortable. The waitress was prompt if not very polite. The food was not that good. I ordered 'angel hair pasta' and got sticky, glumpy noodles. My date's famous Rossi burger was ordered medium rare and arrived well done. All in all I would say the current owners should count their dollars, because with this kind of service they might not be around too long.

Just this afternoon my co-workers and I were in your establishment for lunch. I have to say, the experience left us quite confused and certainly a lot lighter in our wallets.

Being state employees, we are quite aware of how tough times are now, however for you to literally ??bait and switch? customers with different pricing on your web site and your in house menus, to upcharge for every little detail like tomatoes, lettuce and different types of cheese on the ??Deluxe Burger? is in a word outrageous. Charging $1.50 for a slice of Provolone cheese on a hamburger? $1.50 for mushrooms; are you kidding me? That??s as much as a side of Fries.

The menu suggests that cheese is included on any burger, but after reviewing our bill, we found that is not the case. $3.00 for a glass filled with ice and little beverage is ridiculous and then to not offer free refills? To top things off, most in our party did not receive exactly what they ordered. For instance, I got fried onions on my burger that I never ordered. But that is understandable at lunch with a large party and your place being busy. But the extra charges currently in place border on extortion.

Only two months ago the pricing structure seemed so much different. Rossi??s used to be a trusted, enjoyable eating experience. Now, the burgers are smaller and more expensive. Any extra topping other than American cheese is an upcharge. Is the is the business practice you want to continue to follow?

I think it??s safe to say that you??ve lost at least a dozen customers after today??s lunch, possibly more as word spreads.

I'll try to make a long story short... I ordered a "steak" dinner. When it came out, it literally smelt like it had been out in the sun for days, refrozen, thawed out, cooked and then served to me! My husband and the other people I was with agreed that there was something not right with it. Not only did it smell horrible but it was "gray" in color.

When the waitress finally came back to our table, I explained my situation to her and asked her to just take my dinner off our bill. I mean, I only took 1-2 pieces off of it to "share" it's putrid smell with my party. This is when things went from bad to terrible... our waitress informed me that the owner (a short, dark-haired "woman") told her that "they would not take it off the bill but I had two options; 1) they would wrap up the 'steak' for me and I could take it home (um, yeah, OK) or 2) I could order something else off the menu." Now at this point everyone was done with their meal and besides, my "steak" was $25 while everything else on their menu is $10 or below (pasta, burger, I'm sure you get the picture).

When I asked to speak with the owner, we were greeted with a "who wants to talk to me." My husband started to explain what the problem was. I thought I should also let her know. At that point I was told by the "woman" with index finger pointed in my face, "Excuse me, I am talking to him right now!" There's a lot more that was said but I don't want to write a novel. Do know that I didn't go home with the steak or another meal, she didn't take it off our bill, nothing.

Needless to say, the owner was EXTREMELY RUDE, UNREASONABLE and just downright NASTY!! I will NEVER go back there and I will be SURE to let everyone I know, and don't know, about my experience.

Pros: None

Cons: The Owner

rossis is known for their hamburgers, th atmosphere resembles an old grandmother's kitchen. Though not consitent, it is recommended that you order hamburgers medium rare, well done and well taste like meatloaf. dont order too many sodas because they will charge for everyone and yur drinks will cost more than the meal. Homemade potato chips and poppers are awesome as well.

Rossi's, like most of Chambersburg (Trenton's Little Italy) is an cultural as well as a culinary experience. The burgers are huge, so expect a wait, but worth every second! Little known fact - Not on the menu - Rossi's makes a fabulous order of homemade potato chips! You have to request them... You won't be sorry you tried Rossi's or most of the rest of the restaurants in "the 'Burg"!

I have been going there for years. Anyone who joins me raves about the burger, time after time. Joe Dimaggio was a baseball legend who was a frequent patron of Rossi's, the burger at Rossi's is legendary.

I had been eating here for years before I had something other than a burger. Come to find out, ALL the food is good! Soups are homemade and delish. Fries were never bad but a salad instead is a great value. Service is always wonderful and friendly.

It is not a fancy place, red checked tablecoths and a noisy bar near the dining are but if you want a great burger for an extremely reasonable price this is the place to go. Also they have great specials, their soups are always good old fashioned homemade and delicious. Try their special salad or their italian tuna salad. I skip the fries and get a cup of soup, california cheeseburger and a special salad for dinner and it is under 15.00 and I can't ask for a better meal.
