My pit bull Emma was fortunate enough to be examined by Dr. Hagan while he was on vacation. I know him to be a gifted, passionate vet who continues to educate himself.

Great vet, very diverse in his knowledge and tells it straight. His prices are decent and he has kept his same staff since I've been going there. My dog takes Prevoicox, it's a mild buffered dog aspirin. We've never had a problem with it, unless something more serious was wrong.
Dr Hagan and his staff have been keeping my 'beloved' pets in good health for 6 years. He's even come to my house to do anal glands because my dog is so big. I really like this place. I think the people there have heart.

These are really good people and they try to always do the right thing.
I found a kitten in a drain pipe several years ago who was really sick and Dr Hagan saved his life. Last week my now grown "kitten" started to have trouble breathing. I called Cologne Animal Hospital late in the evening, and they stayed open until I could get there with "Oliver"
Dr. Hagan took X-rays and diagnosed Ollie with "Congestive Heart Failure" he prescribed some medicine and instead of just sending me home, he called a specialist, made an appointment and the next day (Saturday morning) HE TOOK ME THERE HIMSELF to confirm his findings and treatment.
Dr Hagan told me that he has a cat like mine at home who is also blind from Herpes.
I've been a client for Cologne for a long time and this is not the only time they have come through above and beyond the call of duty.
When I lost my job in 2009 Dr Hagan continued to treat my animals and supplied me with samples, and tips on how I could do some stuff myself until I got back on my feet. I was out for about 6 months and am now working again. .I am happy to pay that bill. I want this hospital to be around forever so the next time Ollie gets sick I wont loose him. I also like knowing my Vet has a house full of rescued animals just like mine, and that his staff does too.
Here's the latest story I got from Lois at their front desk. An Elderly client of theirs who had been coming for years (17 cats) was evicted from her home. She and her mother who is in her 90's were living on SS. These old ladies were going to be locked out of their house in Mays Landing. Dr Hagan's staff found them a room in a retirement center and put down a deposit, Dr Hagan bought them two twin beds, and took 4 of the cats to find them homes too. The rest of the cats are being taken in by his staff and some other local area Vets who he called for help as well.
I love this Vet. They believe in community, and they just don't get any better.

I have three furbabies taken care of by Cologne Animal Hosp and have had no problems with the care for 10 years. The staff treats your pets as if they were their own. I see people complaining about the large amount of money, but if they were to add up all the places they have to go to get meds, xrays, blood work and without insurance it would be very costly also.

posted this on 3//2013/, i put this up be cause my KOKOMO has passed,my vet gave him a med called PREVICOX -K9 227mg* and he died TUESDAY NITE AT 10:30 PM in my arms, they MURDERED MY BABY BOY AT COLOGNE ANIMAL HOSPITAL in COLOGNE NEW JERSEY,this is a very dangerous drug and with this DRUG FDA requires vets to give their client and the patient a CIS ( customer infromation sheet ) which describes all the side effect of this drug i was never given this because the vet Dr POLLARA who works under DR HAGEN told me that they have had wonderful results from this drug CALLED PREVICOX 227mg*the paper i recieved was a bill from the visi,t and DR orders were as follows KOKOMO has received and injection for pain and inflamation ,and he will have excessive thirst and he would urinate ,that'.s all i was to look for. well after he passed away like i said in the beginning up above." THIS DRUG IS VERY VERY TOXIC AND IT COMES WITH 17 SIDE EFFECTS I was not informed of if i knew all of these warnings i would have never started my baby on this at all, I contacted the the FDA after this all happened and I find out that he was ignorant and negligent,he is suppose to give this paper out with this type of DANGEROUS and HIGHLY TOXIC DRUG. certain breeds And Labradors are not a good candidate for this DRUG. so like all of us are suppose to do is TRUST are beloved pets to these Veterinarians so i gave it to him thinking all along it was going to make him better, DR POLLARA I contact him and tell him whats going on with my KOKOMO and he says this is ok the med's are making him sleepy and it is making him rest so he he can heal,i tel him l he is vomiting food and water, and in labor breathing ,he says he's going thru a lot right now, not to worry he will be fine,my( kokomo his first visit for eval was 1/29/13 started his meds on Wed afternoon,1/30/13 and he was vomiting, and really seemed to bring up everything by thursday ,friday, saturday,i talked to POLLARA on MONDAY and he says bring him in on Tuesdays, i did,and they kept him there from 9 am to 4:30 pm all they did was give kokomo ( iv bag) and i get there at 4:20 pm Tuesday evening I met the DR> there with kokomo and my kokomo is still in labor breathing and my babies gums are white i asked the DR POLLARA ,i tell him his gums are white he replies he's going thru alot right now and the reason for the labor breathing he doesn't understand why,so he tells me to bring him back in the Morning (WEDNESDAY)1/6/13 so DR Hagen can figure out whats going on ,maybe I ( DR POLLARA ) may be missing something or did something ,so i want him to see DR Hagen he says , ok i bring my poor kokomo back home hoping he would make it to see DR Hagan ,in the wednesday morning, he was labor breathing and at 10:30 tuesday nite he passed away in my arms,he is in doggy heaven,I LOVE YOU KOKOMO and DADDY misses you so much!!!rest in peace SO IN MY MIND THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT FIT TO WORK ON A ANT ,THEY ARE AS IN COMPETENT AS ALL GET OUT, EVEN AFTER YOU TELL THEM WHATS GOING ON AND THEY SEE IT RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM AND SPEND ALL OF 7 hours at there facility under their care and no body see that my dog is DYING ALL OF THIS TIME MORE AND MORE,these people really need have have their licence revoked and their fined heavy for making my pet ,suffer thur all this and GOD knows of how many other people brought their pet there and and go thru this ,then the vet says well you gotta consider their age and pre existing problems,i find that hard to believe after my kokomo was very active, and very much alert ,and ate his food and drank his water, before all of this, he went on 1/29/13 to this place and they diagnosed him to have OSTEO ARTHRITIS,and give me previcox 227 mg* for him and tramadol 50mg* and he is now gone after 6 days of this,I just cant believe these MORONS I TRUSTED WITH HIM ACTUALLY ARE complete > IDIOTS<.......SO BEWARE OF THIS DRUG PREVICOX 227 mg8 IT WILL KILL YOUR PET QUICKLY if your not informed about these side effects, remember that paper i mentioned ( CIS ) CUSTOMER INFORMATION SHEET ON this NSAID DRUG WITH 17 WARNINGS ,it may be to late to save my baby boy Kokomo but i ,hope it will save others from going thru this TORTURE MEDICINE THAT I HAD NO IDEA WAS LIKE ,WITH OUT THE PAPER I WAS SUPPOSE TO GET WITH THIS DRUG BUT I DIDNT KNOW ABOUT THIS TIL AFTER THE FACT I LOSE MY KOKOMO ,THIS SHOULD BE BAND FROM THE SHELVES LIKE VIOXX WAS RIMIDYL IS ALSO A BAD MEDICINE Watch OUT FOR THAT STUFF TO !!!! i dont give any stars but i had to give one for this to go thru to WARN EVERY ONE OF THIS PLACE!!!!!!.

Are you sure this guy is licensed to practice veterinary medicine? I found him not to be competent at all. Took us for a lot of money and ran way to many tests and procedures. The only thing he knows how to do is talk a good game. Go find somewhere else.

Business Response:

All of us here at Cologne Animal Hospital are Loving Pet Owners. Cat and Dogs do not always present with obvious symptoms that can be quickly diagnosed without having to do certain tests, including x-rays, bloodwork, ect. Dr. Hagan graduated from the University of Penn in 1999. He also graduated from the Chi-Institue of Acupunture, and does Herbal Medicine as well.

I think this place is the pits. The doctor there is unskilled..and everyone acts like there in the twilight zone. I feel that we were taken advantage of. And if you love your pet, go to a vet that knows how to diagnose, not one who jerks you around....

I found this hospital to be the most caring I've gone to. They really take time to understand my pet. And they really care... it's not phony. And they don't try to rip me off. They are "real vets" like in the old days.

Cologne Animal Hospital really takes great care of our little dog. He has a lot of problems- dry skin, cysts, epilepsy, and back issues. We are very fortunate we have such wonderful doctors and veterinary assistants to help us through. We received the greatest care we could have hoped for. I like the personal feel to the place. It seems as though the receptionist/ assistant always remembers every pet who comes in the door. I also love the running in the office around Christmas to pick up my dog's prescription because they decorate a Christmas tree with pictures of the pets that go there. It's just a really friendly place with great doctors!

PROS: caring and understanding
CONS: none
