I love this office, I have been a client of his since he opened his own practice. Fabulous staff! Dr. Keefe is great with the dogs and always answers all your questions, he also returns your calls if you have a question. If you have an emergency his staff always gets you in.

Have had both wonderful and horrible experiences with this place. Never directly with Dr Keefe but several times with one of his front desk ladies. Phone calls are not returned for 3 days after calling 3 times a day with a life threatening situation, can't be sure if the Dr actually ever received the messages or not. I was told by the desk girl that the dog was probably "tired of feeling lazy due to the rainy weather".the dog had been put on several meds and got worse every day to the point he could not even lift his head off the floor. We went to another vet because Keefe's office would not return our calls or see us. The new vet saw us immediately and changed the meds, the dog was much better the next day. Obviously there was an allergic reaction going on. will probably never know if Dr Keefe received the message or not. At other visits he has been the most wonderful vet anyone could want. Another time with a different dog that I had just had euthenized.and being very upset, walked out crying. By the time I got home there were 2 mesages that I run out without paying the bill ! Guess it runs hot and cold in that office !

Dr. O'Keefe and the entire staff at Creek's Edge are first rate. I would never even consider bringing my pets to a different vet. He has helped to make my pets comfortable and given sound, firm advise with every obstacle they manage to get into. One night my kitten managed to get bitters in his eye, and since it was after 10:00 pm I was forced to take him to an emergency vet. They gave me eye drops and told me he would be fine. The next day he seemed worse so I took him to see Dr. O'keefe. He examined Chase and found that he had burnt his cornea and the drops were making it worse. He gave me some advice on keeping him comfy, and in about 2 days the entire ordeal was behind us.
It's truly a shame that some people will make unfair comments and only give their side of a story. Dr. O'Keefe is a very caring, and responsible person, and he only wants what is best for the animal. My pets love going to see him and his staff, and that in itself speaks volumes.

I have been going to Creeks Edge Animal Hospital for over 3 years now. The care provided by Dr. Brown and Dr. O'Keefe is excellent. However, it seems that in this office, $$$ is the priority.

My dog was acting weird over the weekend, so I wanted to take him to the vet to see if anything was wrong. I stopped in that Monday morning without an appointment, since I was heading out of town for the week the next day. I was in and out of the examination room in less than 15 minutes.

When I got home, I read the bill, and saw I was given a 28% surcharge on my office visit, because I didn't have an appointment. I called them to ask if this one time, they could waive the surcharge. They declined.

Clearly, I need to make sure that when my dog may need to visit the vet, I will make sure he shows symptoms that work within their schedule. I am really surprised they would risk losing a patient over a one-time surcharge. There are plenty of other qualified vets that I can take my dog to, and get treated like a dollar sign.

In 2001, when my wife and I got our labradoodle, Donovan, we were referred to Dr. Keefe by my children. They were clients of Dr. Keefe and had referred many other families to him. We continued as clients until the incident described below. Our relationship had been cordial over those six or seven years.

Usually, we purchased Donovan??s heartworm and other medication from Dr. Keefe. However, in 2004 and 2007 we bought Donovan??s heartworm medication from 1-800-PetMeds. Dr. Keefe either faxed or mailed the prescription directly to 1-800-PetMeds or our home.

In June, 2008, we ordered heartworm medication from 1-800-PetMeds. They contacted Dr. Keefe for a prescription.

Dr. Keefe??s office manager called and told me that, in accordance with their current office policy, I would have to come to Dr. Keefe??s office to pick up the prescription. I explained that the office is about a 30 minute drive from my home [60 minute round trip]. I asked that the matter be handled by mail or fax. She refused. This conversation was frustrating because the office manager was indifferent to my inconvenience, yet treated the office prescription policy as sacrosanct. I asked that Dr. Keefe call me at his convenience to discuss this matter.

Instead, his office manager sent us a letter returning Donovan??s medical records and advising us that the office would "inactivate" [her word] our file because of our disagreement with their policy. She wrote ??We stand by our policy.? Even though Dr. Keefe knew that Donovan needed her heart worm medication, our 1-800-PetMed prescription form was returned with the word "DENIED" written on the form.
We were shocked and offended by the letter. We were disturbed that after a relationship with our family over many years Dr. Keefe didn??t show us the courtesy of dealing with us directly. I sent a letter to Dr. Keefe in which I wrote "No one in your office has provided a reasonable explanation" for your policy. Dr Keefe never responded to my letter or called. I have not heard from or spoken to him since the letter from his office manager.
According to their code of ethics, veterinarians are responsible to honor a client's request for a prescription in lieu of selling the medication themselves. Since Dr. Keefe refused to speak with us about our concerns, I reported his actions to the NJ Office of the Attorney General, State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.

Dr. Keefe was provided the opportunity to answer my Complaint. He did so, but was untruthful in a number of his responses.

--Dr. Keefe wrote that after closing his file on Donovan, he had been willing to care for Donovan ??for sick urgent care needs for a period of 30 days? or until we obtained another veterinarian. If this were true, Dr. Keefe or his office manager would have told us. Since neither did, it is obvious that Dr. Keefe was being untruthful.

--Dr. Keefe wrote about a previous phone conversation we supposedly had about his prescription policy. That conversation never happened. Before this incident, I never spoke with Dr. Keefe or any of his staff regarding his prescription policy.

--Dr. Keefe said he closed his file because I was rude to his office manager during our conversation. This wasn??t mentioned by his office manager who said the reason was a disagreement over policy. In any event, it is untrue. I was assertive. I wished to speak directly to Dr. Keefe about his prescription policy which I believed to be an ethics violation.
--Dr. Keefe wrote that after receiving my letter he called and left a message so we could discuss this matter. I never received a message from Dr. Keefe and I don??t believe he is being truthful about leaving one.

In October, 2010, upon concluding its investigation, the Board forwarded a letter to Dr. Keefe in which it discussed certain ??concerns? [their word] raised during the investigation. The Board advised me that they were precluded by law from sending me a copy of the letter or advising me regarding the specific content of the letter.

Because I disagreed with his prescription policy, Dr. Keefe acted thoughtlessly and unprofessionally, showed no regard for Donovan or her needs and no appreciation for the business referrals from my family. He defended his actions before a board of his peers with a series of untrue statements. I do not recommend using Dr. Keefe.

I found Creeks Edge to be a great group of Vets. My friend who is very involved with rescue recommended them. My former vet just ignored conditions we pointed out. We lost my sister's 12 year old Bassett to Cancer in February. I went to Creeks Edge with my 12 year old German Shorthair, he too had a cancer. Dr. Linzie Brown was great and I now go there with my English Cocker Jack. They are very nice people and ask questions about the pet, and explain treatments. I read the comments from TC and feel sorry for them, but their experience is very different from what I have seen at the practice. I will say my experience has been very positive.

Dr. Keefe and Dr. Brown are the best vets we have ever had, and let me tell you, we've had plenty. They were AMAZING with our Rottweiler, Bear, for the last 3 years of his long life.

We will never go anywhere else if we could help it. Creeks Edge is 40 minutes from home and we did not even think twice about getting a new vet now that we are getting a puppy.

They are responsive, caring, and all around wonderful. We are eternally grateful for how they cared for our Bear and look forward to several more years of care with Columbo.

Absolutely the kindest, most concerned Vets in this area. I'm so glad I found Dr. Keefe and his staff. They have been so kind and good to my Golden. She wouldn't be here without them.
Thank you

We have used many vets in our lifetime of pets and Dr. Keefe is the first one I really trusted. Our former vets gave multiple vaccines every year with no testing. I'm sure many of our dogs would have lived longer if they had not been over-vaccinated (which compromises the immune system). I don't know what happened the night TC had her cat there but cant believe Dr Keefe was unkind or rude. At 9;30 PM everyone was probably exhausted and should not be faulted for taking any real emergencies first, if that was the case. Dr. Keefe has always been more than patient with us, phone calls are never rushed, and all concerns are addressed. The James family, Shamong, NJ

I am an employee at Creek's Edge Animal Hospital and take offense to the negative remarks that TC left about Dr. Keefe and his staff. We as a team take total pride in our jobs and the wonderful services we provide to our clients. I have worked at other facilities and believe me, no one can come close to our quality of medicine, our patient/client relationships and the trust we have in one another. I am proud to be a part of Creek's Edge Animal Hospital and an employee of Dr. Christopher P. Keefe.

I find it amazing that people with a bad attitude can actually find ways to blame their short comings on other people. I was one of those people in the full waiting room on the night that T.C. had her bad experience. I can honestly say that each member of the staff treated this woman politely and professionally, including Dr. Keefe. She was just unwilling to let them care for her cat in the way that was necessary and I am sure that her behavior was very frustrating for them. I have total trust in Dr Keefe and his staff to do what ever is needed to care for my pets...that is why I go there...they are the best. I wish Dr. Keefe could be my doctor too, because I have not met too many medical doctors that are as knowledgeable as him and also take the time to explain things in such detail. I am sure there are many people that feel the same as I do. Good luck to T.C. when she tries to find another animal hospital that can measure up to Creeks Edge Animal Hospital ! I think she will be the one that is sorry !

Four nights ago we took our very ill 16 year old cat to Creek??s Edge for some testing and to learn how to administer sub-Q fluids at home. 45 minutes past our appointment time, a technician came to us in the waiting room and wanted to take our cat in the back to treat her ??in between? other patients without our presence. We very politely told her that we weren??t comfortable doing it that way (it was obvious that they were trying to rush us through) and that we needed to be present to learn how to administer fluids, since that was the main purpose of our appointment. She went into the back and a few minutes later a very angry Dr. Keefe stormed into the waiting room, which was full of people, and scolded us. He said, ??Either we take the cat in the back or your cat doesn??t get seen tonight?, and stormed off. We were speechless, embarrassed, shocked and outraged to be spoken to that way, completely unprovoked. Of course we wanted to walk out and never return. But we stayed because we needed to help our cat.

A full hour and 15 minutes after our appointment time, the secretary coldly said to us ??Dr. Keefe said you can go now.? WHAT??? Absolutely not! We refused to leave until someone showed us how to administer fluids. Next thing we know a vet tech comes out, holding bags of fluids and needles and they were going to send us home. By this point I was sobbing and my husband was livid. Finally, a tech agreed to show us how to give fluids. It was now 9:30pm. In the end, not one single person on the staff offered an apology for the way we were treated or for being so late.

Before we left we gave Dr. Keefe a piece of our minds and then got our cat??s records. We will NEVER go Creek??s Edge Animal Hospital again. As far as we are concerned, Keefe is a terrible human being and a lousy vet.

Dr. Keefe had been taking excellent care of my Beagle Becky for years. She was my very best friend in the world and after being lucky enough to have 17 wonderful years with her, I had to put her down when she developed stomach cancer. Dr. Keefe treated us with such respect and he was so gentle and kind. He let me hold my girl and when she had passed, he gave me a comforting rub on the back and softly said she's gone. He left the office and gave me some time alone to hold her one last time and to say good bye to my Becky. When he came back in, Dr. Keefe clipped some of her hair for me and promised me he would take good care of her. While I was leaving with tears in my eyes, I could see Dr. Keefe petting my girl and I knew he would take care of her just as he promised. I went back to the office a week later to pick up Becky's ashes and saw Dr. Keefe. He asked me right away how I was doing and I said I miss her so much. He was so kind and understanding and told me how lucky I was to have had a friend like her and he was right. After some time I finally got another dog and I am proud to say Cosmo is a patient of Dr. Keefe's and I know he's in good hands! Your pet deserves the best and the best is Creeks Edge!

I love this practice. The office is immaculate and the staff is the best. You and your pet are well cared for from the moment you walk in the door. Dr. Keefe is very knowledgeable and cares about your pet as if it was his own. If you're searching for a vet, give him a try. You won't be sorry.

I have taken my 3 cats to Creeks Edge for almost 4 years.

Creeks Edge vets, assistants and employees are the greatest.

They sincerely care and it shows. The facility is immaculate, you could, if you choose, to eat off the floor. There is no odor when you enter building. They are very professional. When you make appointment they are on time. They are reasonable (compared to other friends that use different vets), but more importantly they are caring. They are dedicated to each and every pet that enters through their door.

I had heard many horror stories about vets. I asked many friends, customers and relatives. Creeks Edge surfaced to the top of the list.

I can't say enough good about them. They care about the patients as if they were their own family.
