It's obvious the medical staff places its highest priority on the financial aspects of medicine. The original practice partners are completely out of touch and are effectively paper shufflers ( Del Giorno, father and son and female physician Mann )concerned with their reimbursement and not much more. I used the practice because of convenience but if you ever need anything more than immunizations this is not the place to go. I arranged to change my kids primary physician because of the and poor physician judgement, practice and blatant apathy. I would bring my children to this practice even as a last resort.

I would recommend this practice to everyone! After my 4th child was born, I immediately felt there was something wrong. She was a "floppy" baby, and her cries were very faint. She had reflux, failure to thrive, and low muscle tone. We went to various specialists, and they all said to treat her like a preemie. I said I would not because she was not a preemie! Dr. John said to me that if I thought there was something wrong then we would keep looking because the "mom always knows". It turns out that she has an extremely rare genetic disorder, and if Dr. John didn't keep looking, we wouldn't have found out as early as we did, and she would not have gotten the early therapies she needed. His whole practice is built with this mentality. All of the docs are great, Dr. Lynn Mann, Dr. Joe, Dr. Harry, Dr. Melissa, and Dr. Audrey. My children have seen all of them at one point or another, and they are all extremely caring individuals. We are very fortunate to have them as our pediatricians!

I personally don't care if the staff is super-friendly or not, just that Dr. John is very thorough with the children. Remember that you are bringing your children in for good medical care, not a dog and pony show from the doctor.
Dr. John sits and listens intently with the stethoscope sometimes for several minutes and while it seems that some physicians just go through the motions. He seems truly dedicated to his patients.

We first started seeing Dr. Jonn when our son was 3 days old with jaundice. It was Christmas Eve. He saw or spoke with us every day on the phone for a week there after, at his suggestion--even on Christmas night. I will say I was uncomfortable with his somewhat rough handling of our baby & his VERY matter-of-fact attitude with us, but he knew what he was doing & cared enough to take the time to do it, even late at night. Our son is now almost 6 & we still go to the practice. Dr. Joe is our favorite, particularly my son's. He is absolutely fantastic with the kids and if he doesn't know the answer, he'll send you to someone who does.
The office staff & nurses are quite another matter. It's like potluck. You never know how kind or how obscenely rude someone is really going to be. A few of the nurses are downright awful, rough with the children & totally lack bedside manner. We tolerate them to stay with the fantastic doctors.

We first met Dr. Del Giorno 17 years ago when our daughter was only 1 and have been seeing him ever since. Dr. John has taken care of our 3 children and was the first to notice developmental delays in our son when he was just 2. His compassion shines through with each child and even though we have moved away from the area, we still make the drive too see him when our kids are sick. I fear the day when my kids out grow Dr. John...we just love him!

My experience with this office was very disappointing. My insurance requires referals so I asked to get a referal for my daughter to see our family eye doctor of 15 years. They told me that he wasn't a medical doctor and that they would only refer me to ophthalmologists. This is outrageous!! My eye doctor is lisenced, extremely knowledgeable, and perfectly capable of handling our eyecare. Just because he doesn't do surgeries doesn't make him any less of a doctor!

I would recommend them to anyone I know. I went to see Dr John as a little girl, and he was key in diagnosing my brother with a rare leg disease. If it wasn't for that diagnosis,my brother would have ended up in a wheel chair. We are grown now ans well. I now take my children. Although Dr John is hard to see,His son Dr. Joe is terrific with the kids.!! Some of the front desk staff could be friendlier. But the docs and nurses are great!J.d

Dr. Delgiorno and his associates are great. His early diagnosis of a problem on my son saved him a lot of pain had it been discovered later. I always feel comfortable with the staff and never rushed. Would highly recommend this group to anyone with children. My best friend's daughter is 18 and still goes to Dr. D!!!!

I am an adult now, 27 yrs to be exact. And went to DelGiorno until the last possible year! I have NO bad memories of visiting the office from the staff to the Dr's. In fact, Dr John recognized something that didnt seem right to him when I was about 3. Turns out he was right, I was diagnosed with & treated in time for Wilm's Tumor. So now I am a childhood-cancer survivor. Like I said, nothing bad to say here. I've just recommended him to my 2 nieces.

Everyone has their own expectations for a pediatrician. Dr. Delgiorno is not "clownlike", but he is very thorough, goes above and beyond the expected in follow up, and has experience to boot. Both of my children screamed at every pediatrician they saw as babies. I was never concerned about whether my children liked the doctor or even whether I personally liked him. I wanted to know without a doubt that my pediatrician put my child's health first, that we were not just a number in a sea of patients, and most important was confidence in the doctor's diagnosis. Dr. John is very accomodating and has called me very late at night, has seen my sick children on Sundays, and has never denied us an appointment. His office staff is always accomodating and his other Doctors are great as well. Dr. Joe Delgiorno is very funny, and kids love him and Dr. Mann is great too. I had seen several pediatricians before finding Dr. Delgiorno, and as I said, I feel lucky to have my children's health in such able hands.

I would not recommend Dr. Delgiorno to anyone looking for a pediatrician. He is very cold and not at all gentle when examing the children, even small babies. The staff at his office is very rude and calls are rarely returned. My son had a serious rash and they wouldn't even give me an appointment, instead saying that it had to come from the laundry detergent I was using, even though I had been using the same laundry detergent since the day he was born.
I have ended up switching pediatricians and am much happier with the new doctors I take my children to. I would not recommend this physician.
