April 24, 2010 -Worst dining experience of my life!!! Wait Staff rude and unaccommodating to their staff problems. Here??s the breakdown- 25 mins to get someone to come over to our table and acknowledge us, 1and 15 mins to get apps out to our table 2 hrs yes 2 hrs to get dinner serviced. Waiter was rude, we had to flag him down to actually get served a drink and when we ask him if he could remove the dirty glasses he responded ??sure? and placed them on the table behind us instead of taken them away. The straw that broke the camels back was when the waiter came by about 20 mins after we got our meal served and ask how it was and I responded; the sauces if wonderful by my fish is hard as a rock on the outside; I can??t eat this? His response was ??It??s not a perfect world Sweetie? and walk away. That??s when I lost my mind. We paid the check immediately and left the table. When I explained to the hostess my experience she really could care less and stated it was a busy night. Now, when I sat down at my table the dining room was not full. When I left there was only 2 other tables in the entire place? What??s wrong with this picture? Bottom line, they need to get rid of there Denny??s staff and bring in people who care out the customers. I would have gone back even though the food was not up to par that evening but to service and staff was so horrendous that I was shocked. Needless to say we dropped $140.00 and did not eat our meal. And Oh by the way, first time in my entire life that I did not tip the waiter?.
Word of Advice ?? Stay Away, I don??t see them changing there fine dining staff anytime soon.

I took my husband for brunch here expecting it to be a real treat Quite frankly it was a letdown. The Quality of the food left a lot to be desired and they over charged for what they offered. The waffles were soggy and the French toast was tasteless. The staff is totally disorganized. Any one who knows me knows that I'm no neat freak and I found the windows to be grimy and the rugs to be threadbare. I do not recommend it.

Beautiful place! Elegant service. Wonderful place for a small wedding reception. It is close to the beach for a walk after dinner. Pleasant atmosphere.

The Grenville Hotel & Restaurant was just what the doctor ordered when my family and I went to the Jersey Shore in the summer. We wanted a place that was close to the beach as possible. This hotel in Bay Head, NJ isn't hard to miss with its pink exterior.

Upon entering the establishment, I could already feel the charm of the place. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. Since we were there in the month of July, we took advantage of their summer special and booked a nice, family suite. I'm glad we did because we managed to get nice rooms for the price we paid. Plus, they were very clean, which is always a concern wherever we go.

The rooms aren't very big like you would expect from a hotel chain. Instead it has a very charming quality to make it feel like you are entering a bedroom. We managed to get separate rooms within the suite so our son felt he had some privacy as well.

This place also provides beach badges for you to enter the beach that is just behind the hotel. They also provide towels in case you need any. Just don't lose the beach badge or you'll be paying $250.00 for each of them.

The restaurant looked very elegant and well set-up. The attraction is eating outside on the deck watching the people go by. A swimming pool is also included in this hotel.

My only gripe was the parking. They didn't have a lot like other places for people to park their vehicles. We had to park on the street hoping to find a close place near the hotel. If you tried to find one during the day, it was next to impossible as people came early to park and go to the beach.

Overall, it was a very relaxing stay at the Grenville Hotel and I'm glad to know a place at the Jersey Shore that I would have no problem going back to in the future.

PROS: Charming and relaxing place
CONS: Parking is hard to find during the day
