5 Stars: Amazing Service! (by Jennifer H.)

I went to Nauna's last week to meet up with an old family friend. The experience was great and so was the food. Raymond was very helpful and funny. I had the Chicken Cacciatore; very good!!! For dessert I had the melt-in-your-mouth New York Cheesecake. I would recommend them to anyone who loves good Italian food and great service.

5 Stars: Fabulous time at Nauna's! (by RangersFan31)

I'm from South Jersey and went to Nauna's for a family members birthday party. There was about 60 of us and they took care of us like we were family! The food was delicious and plentiful and the wait staff was sooo nice I think we ended up leaving about a 40%tip! They deserved it because they took care of our every need. I just wanted to give a thumbs up for Nauna's. Anyone looking for a place to host a family gathering and live in the area should consider this place, they do a great job.

5 Stars: Excellent! (by Jimmy S.)

I visited Nauna's last week for a retirement party. We had about 25 guests and most of them were lawyers so you know it was a difficult crowd to please! Everyone had a great time and left raving about the whole night. The food was very well prepared (especially the chicken francese) and the service was excellent. I have never been there for dinner but I will definitely return with my family sometime.

5 Stars: The Food & Service is amazing! (by Beaner17)

I have been going to Nauna's for years and it never disappoints and keeps getting better. You can stop by for a slice of incredible pizza or a sandwich or choose to have a more formal dinner in the dining room area. Regardless, you will not be disappointed - the food is just delicious. Amazing food, friendly staff, BYOB, reasonable prices, PARKING, what more can you ask for! For anyone who has not been there, you need to try it... You'll thank me later!

5 Stars: Wow, great place! (by LoveToFly)

I've lived in Montclair for a few years but never tried Nauna's. I wasn't avoiding the place, I just had gotten into the habit of going to other Montclair restaurants because there are many good places. My friends wanted to go out and one of them recomended Nauna's so we had a table of 8 meet there on Wednesday. I'm soo happy I went there! The food was awesome (everyone agreed) and the prices were really resonable. We brought a couple of bottles of wine so we didn't order any drinks but $137.00 for 8 people and we all had appetizers, dinners & desserts? Awesome! It wouldn't be worth it if the food was bad, but that wasn't the case at all. I had stuffed rigatoni in vodka sauce with peas and fresh mozzarella for dinner, fried calamari for an appetizer and cheesecake for dessert and everything was wonderful. The dining room (in the back)is really well decorated and the tables aren't right on top of each other so you don't feel like the table next to you is listening to everything you say. Everthing about the night was really good, we'll be back for sure!

5 Stars: Delicious dinners & pasta (by Theresa M.)

I first tried Nauna's the night we moved to Montclair because a neighbor stopped by to welcome us and we asked where to go locally for good Italian. It was the best advice we've had! It wasn't long before we were regulars and got to know the whole wait staff. We still eat there at least two or three times a month and we've now lived in Montclair for over eight years. The food is always fresh and well prepared and the service is attentive and friendly. Most dinners are in the $12 to $17 range but some of the daily specials can creep up to $20 to $25. They give good portions (especially the pasta dishes) and they are a BYOB. Nauna's is really a great place for casual Italian and pizza, I'm so happy we were sent there right from the beginning, too bad it took us 3 years to get a good plumbing recommendation!

1 Stars: Nauseous (by Doug W.)

I met with 5 old friends from Montclair High School (class of '69) for a mini reunion. The food was excellent. Delicious. What came later, not so great. I started puking my guts around 11:00 PM after I got home. I learned that everybody had the same experience. Diarrhea too. Just thinking of the place makes me nauseous to this day.

5 Stars: Nice place (by TIm M.)

I attended a 40th anniversary party at Nauna's last year and everything was so good that I've been back for dinner a few times since. I always thought Nauna's was basically a pizzeria but I was wrong. They have a really nice dining room in the back where they just serve dinners. My favorite there is the chicken saltimbocca but the linguine with fresh clams is also really well prepared. They have good service and decent prices. It's just an overall nice place to go for good Italian food in a casual atmosphere.

5 Stars: Best Pizza Around! (by SteveSutherland)

Nauna's had the best sicillian pizza in town. They are also the only place that has whole wheat crust that actually tastes good and not like cardboard with sauce in it. I usually only get pizza there but the few times I ordered pasta it was very good also. The sauce wasn't watery and the pasta was firm and not overcooked. (Not like the pasta they sell at Enzo's next door to Nauna's, I made that mistake once!) The big parking lot is also a bonus when you want to make a quick pick up and not have to search for a parking space.

5 Stars: Nauna's is the BEST! (by SurfingMom)

I have been bringing the family to Nauna's for about 12 years (since they were at their previous location across the street) so I can speak with experience here. Nauna's has really good everyday food; pizza, pasta, salads, dinners etc. and they are all reasonably priced. The owner, Tommy is always gratious and seems to really care about his customers and that's important in any restaurant, but particularly in a local family-restaurant with lots of families and repeat customers like Nauna's has. So often my husband and I know half the patrons in the dining room when we get there and that's part of the atmosphere you get there, a real "family" feel to it. If you haven't been there you should at least give it a try, Nauna's does a really good job that's probably why they are so busy all the time.

5 Stars: Great Pizza & Pasta! (by MontclairMom)

Nauna's really is a great place for the family. There are delicious dishes for adults, kids sized pasta chioces and great pizza. They really understand what a family wants in a restaurant. The wait staff is friendly and the portions are very generous (we usually take home as much as we eat) they have a wide variety of dinners from $9.00 to up to $20 for steaks & seafood entrees. Everyone I know in town eats there, Nauna's is practally a landmark in Montclair for the past 30 years.

5 Stars: Food was amazing at Naunas!! Montclair best Italian YUM (by RyanandAnthony)

First off, I'd like to say that we found this wonderful restaurant online. I saw rave reviews about it & decided to give it a try...boy, we sure made the right choice that night!! When we arrived we were greeted by someone who actually cared which table she was placing us at (A lot of restaurants don't, they just say "Follow me") We sat in the Piazza room which was just beautiful. Nice & clean with pretty decor & all of the staff working seemed to be doing such a good job. Fast paced yet accurate....everyone was so polite as well!! We ordered two house salads which came with the most amazing Italian dressing I think I've ever had!!! Everything we ordered was amazing...From the stuffed mushrooms down to the Eggplant Parm ;) YUM. You can tell that the food is fresh and they take pride in the business they own. Even the friggin soda's taste clean & fresh (Which we all know some places they come flat sometimes) Everything & I mean everything was more than we expected that night. Raymond came over to greet us & ask how everything was and we couldn't of been happier. We came back a week later (I didn't know it would be that busy so we showed without a reservation.....OUR fault, and they still treated us great) I think we may have found a new favorite restaurant!!! ;) Thanks Naunas!

2 Stars: Good food, but horrible service for delivery (by wolverinenj)

Ordered a pizza from here couple of times based on great reviews. Lets just say he pizza is very lacking a quality crust and their food could be more flavorful. Great food for people with no sense of taste and want o be lulled to sleep with mediocre quality. Both times it was cold and flavor was lacking. The male who sometimes answers the phone is quite rude and needs a lesson in professionalism and manners. Hopefully heis proactive about reading his reviews, but then again, this seems like a place that might build up their own hype. If they were a bit nicer, the delivery guys would make out better for tips.

5 Stars: The best pizza & pasta in the area (by Sportsdad)

Nauna's is one of those places that when you go there, you see 4 or 5 other families that you know in the dining room. It's like a meeting place for local families. We go there at least once a week and love the pasta and fresh salads. The mandarin orange salad with grilled shrimp and raspberry vinegarette dressing is the best salad I have ever had anywhere! The waitresses are always freindly and do mostly a good job and the management is always responsive if is there is a problem. They have two dining rooms, one that is casual and filled with families and the back room is more formal where they only serve entrees and daily specials. Nauna's is a great example of how independant restaurants can compete with the big chains that are opening up everywhere.

5 Stars: Nauna's is Great! (by John W.)

Nauna's is a great place for pizza and pasta. They have a really big menu with all the usual dishes plus some great house specials. Try the stuffed rigatoni or the fusilli e pesce, buth are great pasta's. The panini sandwiches are the best around especially the chicken pesto. I have been there about 20 times and I have never had a bad experience with the food or the service.

5 Stars: Nauna's rules! (by johnwaitkus)

Nauna's in Montclair is a really great place for casual Italian cuisine. They have great pizza, but we mostly order one of the many pasta dishes they have or we order off the daily specials menu. The stuffed rigatoni and the cappellini portofino are our favorite pasta dishes, and when they have the seafood lasagna on special we always order it, they should put it on the everyday menu it's so good. Besides pasta I would recommend the Hotsy Totsy Shrimp and the calamari balsamico for seafood and the chicken salminbocca is my favorite chicken entree. The service is always friendly and competent (although not top notch). Overall I find Nauna's to be above average in food, service and value. No wonder they have been in business 30 years, they do a great job there.

Are you kidding me? The pizza is an undercooked mess. It tastes like someone slapped some Ragu and Velvetta on a slice of Wonder Bread and threw it in a microwave for 30 seconds. The service is good -- I'll give them that.

5 Stars: Great food & great service! (by yankeefan04)

Nauna's is my favorite restaurant in the Montclair. I dine out frequently, probably 3 or 4 nights a week and I have been to all the area restaurants but I always seem to find my way back to Nauna's for real "family Italian" dining. The homemade pasta's are exceptional and the dinner specials like the pan seared salmon are very good. The pricing is very reasonable, you can go to other Montclair restaurants and pay 40-60% more for the same dish and it's not any better than what you will get at Nauna's. The staff is very friendly and performs adaquetely. They, like every other restaurant in Montclair is BYOB, so pick up a nice bottle and treat yourself to great food and a good time at Nauna's. Also, check out their website to see their daily dinner specials. They update it every day with the daily specials (I always check before I go and it was only wrong once). it's at: www.naunas. I'll see you there!

5 Stars: Excellent Casual Italian (by Jen C.)

I have been going to Nauna's for over eight years now and love the place! They have the great (and rare) combination of really good food, pleasant staff and reasonable prices. We go there some nights for pizza and other nights we will make a reservation for the back dining room and have dinner. I recommend trying the blackboard specials especially the seafood dishes as they are as good as in places that charge twice as much. You can BYOB and have a outstanding dinner for two for under $50 with appetizers and dessert. Nauna's is one of the best finds in the area!

My family and I have been going to Nauna's for years and we are always pleased.

I love Nauna's! I've been going there for about five years now and I always get great food and service. The family that runs Nauna's are all very gratious and willing to please. The pizza is very good but I really like the pasta and dinner specials, they are always delicious. From the looks outside you may think it is just a pizzeria, but their dinners are better than anything I've had at Marzulo's or Leone's. Their specials are on par with Giotto's and Fasino's, both highly acclaimed local restaurants.

5 Stars: Great find! (by citygirl61)

I was looking for a place like this for a while since moving to Montclair. I used to go to Leone's on South Park Street but the service and food was hit or miss. Nauna's is such a great place, the people are so nice, the food is consistantly good and the atmosphere is perfect. I sit in the front room when I'm with the kids, and the back dining room when it's me and my husband on "date nights". The specials are as good as any I've had at Palazzo or Giotto (which are both good restaurants) but they are much less expensive at Nauna's. I've been there dozens of times and they never disappoint. Make sure you try the blackboard specials, they are always great.

4 Stars: Great for eating in or delivery (by Hilary D.)

Nauna's food is delicious and they have a wide selection. You can order a pizza for delivery or a wide variety of pasta at the restaurant. They have a very nice eat-in area, more like a traditional restaurant than a pizza place. They also have good desserts. Their prices are about average but their food is better than most.

5 Stars: Great Italian Fare! (by karolrich)

Try the Brocoli Rabe - It is superb! The food is so freshly prepared, and tastes great. Highly would recommend this restaurant to family. No alcohol is served, but you can bring your own wine. The back is for more quieter dining, and the front is for pizza and kids. I have only been there twice, but I am going to go back again.

5 Stars: Great Casual Italian! (by terrimph)

Nauna's is great! lots of pasta choices & a very large selection of dinners. Good service and a real "family atmosphere" make you fell at home there. We go there 2 or 3 times a week. The dining room in the back is much less noisy then the front, ask to be seated there for a quiet night out.

5 Stars: Cindy Ippolito (by cinippnyc)

Excellent "family style" Italian restaurant. Casual, yet you can still get a great pasta dish or entree. Prices are remarkably reasonable. It's not the Manor, but for affordable Italian, you can't beat Nauna's. We've been going there for over four years regularly.

4 Stars: Decent food, decent service, good price (by storycrafter)

I took my girlfriend here based on some favorable reviews found on this web site. Our appetizers consisted of the pasta fagioli and new zealand mussels, which were excellent. My girlfiend had the ziti, which was excellent, and I had the angel hair pasta with shrimp, crab, and clams, which wasn't so good -- it was soupy and very overpowering with the fishy smell. After our initial order, the waitress wasn't very attentive (we had to wait 15 minutes at a time to get her attention to refill drinks, order desert, etc). I would probably have enjoyed a non seafood entree or another special (they had many). They have a pretty good sized menu, and the prices are really rather good.

The front room is indeed family and kid friendly, and they have a pretty good take-out business, from the bustle at the register. The back room looked much quieter..

5 Stars: Montclair Jem! (by stevegp)

My family and I love Nauna's. We have been going there since we moved to Montclair from NYC in 1998. Montclair has so many restaurants and we try many of them, but we keep going back to Nauna's. The specials are the best around (try the surf & turf and the grilled shrimp tower) as well as priced reasonably. Another HUGE plus is they have a parking lot. I think they are the only restaurant in the town that has a parking lot and on a rainy night I don't feel like walking three or more blocks on Bloomfield Ave to get to some place that is higher priced than Nauna's and not even as good. Go there, you'll see!

5 Stars: Great Family Restaurant! (by jenn lipkin)

My Family has been going to Nauna's for over ten years and they have never disapointed. They now have a seperate formal dining room (the Piazza room) in the back that is perfect for a quiet night out. The specials are always great, my favorite is the clams in garlic sauce, but there are always many choices it's hard to choose! Happy dining!

5 Stars: Jerry (by jerryowens)

Try the back dining room for a more intimate night out. The specials are the best in the Montclair area. (I had the grilled swordfish and it was the best swordfish I've ever eaten!) I think the front dining room is more suited for pizza and pasta, but the back dining room is definately a serious restaurant - try it, you'll be pleasantly suprised!
