I cannot say enough about Dr. Karan and her staff. I have been taking my cats to her practice ever since I moved her 17 years ago. The caring and compassion received is outstanding. Dr. Karan goes above and beyond to help, is willing to listen and to work with you and your beloved pet. She worked with me to help keep my very senior kitty going and enjoying a good quality of life. And when it was time, showed so much emotion, love, compassion and understanding. Thank you from Angel Ebony

I have been taking my pets to Dr. Karen and her staff for 20 years. They are outstanding in the way they treat animals and the customers. They are reasonable on fees and practical in the treatments. We moved to the Jersey shore two years ago and have had such bad experiences with Vets in the Barnegat and Toms River area, we now drive back to Whitehouse for our dog. Dr. Karen pulled our dog out of a terrible health issue in October after the vet in Toms River misdiagnosed her. I have recommended numerous people to this clinic and would not hestitate an inch on having any animal treated there. So far we have had 5 dogs (all rescued with interesting health issues) treated by Dr. Karen and Dr. Ferrara. Care has been compassionate, and more importantly accurate. Toms River was charging us about $300 a visit and still not providing adequate treatment. Best in central New Jersey. Gracie says thanks!!!

My dog got into a fight as I was leaving my work in New Jersey and the one wound appeared to need stitches but it would take me over an hour to get to my regular vet so I stopped at Whitehouse Veterinary Hospital because it was the closest one I saw. I was prepared to be charged A LOT for the visit, however my dog needed medical attention so I brought her anyway. The staff were wonderful. I walked in, no call, no appointment, and said my dog was in the truck and needed stitches and they said bring her in and they took her immediately, even though it was close to closing time on a Friday night. They stitched her up, gave me antibiotics and we were good to go. Then I got the bill - it was great - a lot less than I expected! It cost around $100 for the stitches, antibiotics, and she even had to get sedated. I was extrememly happy with their service and would use them again if ever need a vet in NJ.

I??ve been a ??cat? client of Whitehouse Veterinary Hospital for over 20 years. While most empty nesters choose a life of travel and relaxation, I preferred to adopt my first ever puppy! His initial car ride was to Whitehouse Vet for an exam, shots, and of course, to be neutered. The doctors and staff where so competent, but beyond that, so knowledgeable and informative on the dos and don??t of raising a puppy! Great staff, reasonable prices, personal attention, three years later I would not take my dog anywhere else!

Dr Karen saw my bunny immediately upo my frantic phoe call. I had recently gotten her spayed and she became ill. As it turned out, she had a staff infection that wasn't being treated correctly. Dr Karen and her entire staff are kind, compassionate, and patient. She taught me how to force feed my bunny and give her fluid IV. In short, she saved my bunny's life. I would NEVER trust my bunny to anyone but her.
BTW.....the cost of an office visit was just over 1/2 of what I paid at the office where my bunny got the staff infection, and the medication prices were much more reasonable. I have also brought my bunny in just to have her nails clipped, and walked out without ever paying a penny.

Dr. Oberhansley is thorough, perceptive, caring, and willing to take time to explain the pet's condition, as well as to discuss the pet owner's options. She is experienced and clearly extremely knowledgeable. I trust her judgment.
The office staff is kind and thoughtful. Their affection for animals is obvious.
I am thankful to have the Whitehouse Veterinary staff caring for my pets.

I have been working with Dr. Oberhansley for 6 years as she is the vet for the animal shelter i work for as well as my family vet. Dr. Oberhansley has gone above and beyond any vet i have ever seen with what she does for rescue animals. She gives the shelter the best discount rate of any other vet, often doing services at the minimum cost, as well as caring for our puppy mill and hoarding cases rescues and donating dentals and other costly services! On her own time she has come to do exams for many of our animals and rescues. She is the most compassionate vet i have ever worked with as well as her staff and i reccommend her to anyone i meet as well as other rescue groups. Food for thought for anyone who posted about her just caring about $. Also, the prices happen to be extremely fair compared to other vets. Try going to a vet in bergen county and you will see an office visit alone is $75-$90. All of the customers i run into there are all very happy to be there, and i have worked with just about every vet in the area and would suggest Whitehouse over them.

I have been going to the vet for the past 5 years. I LOVE Dr. Guy and Ferrar - however the owner is not a nice person to be around and will take every penny from you. She is RUDE. I think the other 2 vets should start their own practice - and I promise you...90% of the clients would leave!!! DON'T DEAL WITH THIS WOMAN!! She cares more about your $$$ then your animal!!

It was very important for my husband and I too find a Vet that participated in the "Friends of Animals" Spay and Neuter program. Our Vet does not participate, though my in-laws informed us that their loving, trusted vet of many years at Whitehouse Veterinary Hospital did, so we called and made an appointment. Even though Whitehouse is not our normal Vet they still treated our beloved puppy with great care! We are so grateful for this! I highly recommend this Vet, they really will care about the best interest of your pet!

I woke last Saturday morning to my dog vomiting a lot of blood. Even-though it was a Saturday at about 10:30 am the receptionist told me to bring her in right away. The clinic was very busy but I was given priority, as all emergencies should, a diagnosis was done quickly (within 10 minutes) and surgery to remove the chicken bones was done immediately! ( within 10 minutes). I have always found all three vets, vet techs and receptionists to be professional, take the time to explain the situation and caring. After all our beloved pets are like our children! I was called as soon as she was out of surgery and to check on her progress during the week by a vet not a receptionist.I was very upset and crying and all staff took the time to comfort me. One week later my dog is fine! By the way, the chicken bones were from the organic dog food sold at the Amish market in Flemington, NJ.

I have been going there for years and had no problems until my 9 yr old shepherd was having a hard time breathing. Well, they took blood work and xrays of her heart and told me that the blood work was normal but that she did have a tumor on her heart that could burst and that she had less than a month to live. I had a 45minute drive home and almost got into several accidents due to crying and being so upset. So they sent me to animerge for an ultrasound, which they said that it would be conclusive, but it wasn't,and they told me to come back in 2 months to do another ultrasound. My dog was still having a hard time breathing. I was on the verge of putting my dog down so she wouldn't suffer, when i decided to go to another vet, and he found out the she had a sinus infection, which cleared up in 4 days with medication. There was nothing wrong with her heart. I had payed $800 for xrays, blood work and an ultrasound, but the biggest thing was that the whitehouse vet's did not even address the breathing problem. It's been 6 months and my dog is just fine. I would never go back and i would never recommend them. Now they refuse to give me my dogs health records. STAY AWAY FROM THEM! THEY ARE EVIL! All they care about is MONEY not the animals.

I have been going to whitehouse vet hospital for years. I have always seen Dr. Guy. I LOVE HER! I have also seen Dr. Farrar and she is just as good! The other day though i went in for my dogs yearly exam and I saw Dr. Oberhansly. ( I might of spelt that wrong) she is the owner. anyway i sat in the waiting room for 45 min just waiting for my dog to get shots. Once i was in the exam room i had to wait another 30 minutes. Then once she walked in she was completely frazzled and her hair was a mess. She then started to tell me that my dog need to be on 3 different kinds of medication one is a steroid. I dont believe that my dog has any sort of problems and I now know i dont ever want her to exam my dog again! Other than that i dont have one negitive thing to say about the rest of the staff.

My poor cat was hit by a car and I was really scared because he was in bad shape. I was so freaked out I didn't call them but just ran in crying- the nurse quickly took my cat and ran him upstairs. Another girl came and took all my information and assured me that they would do everything that they could and called for the doctor. They looked really busy but stopped everything that they were doing to help my baby! Luckily they were able to help my little cat - his leg was badly scraped and burned but no internal damages. I was so lucky to have them as my vets. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

PROS: Very helpful
CONS: Can be very busy-but worth the wait!

I was new in the area and had no current vet. My dog was very sick and no one would get me in except Whitehouse Vet. They were so compassionate on the phone and got me in right away. I'm a little crazy when it comes to my animals but they completely understood and I didn't feel crazy at all! They explained everything to me and answered all of my questions. I have never met such a wonderful and friendly staff before. They did bloodwork and xrays while I waited, so I didn't have to go home worried. As for the price, I found them comparable to other vets in the area but cannot compare the care and respect that my dog and I received!!!!!!

PROS: All compassionate women!!!!
CONS: NONE!!!!

My family used this vet for many years, but as the business has grown, they have really lost sight of the customers needs. When my mother had to make the difficult decision to put down her terminally ill cat, she called the office (that had seen my parents cats for over 25 years) and was told that she would have to wait three days for an appointment. I used the vet to have my dog spayed and found them very responsive. I was told to call first thing the next morning to make sure she was cleared and then I could pick her up. I called and left three messages before driving there myself, imagining the worst reasons why they werent calling me back like maybe my dog had complications. When I got there, the receptionist brushed me aside, saying they were busy so they just hadnt called me back. As for busy, there wasnt a single patient in the waiting room. I took my dog home and never went back. They are also very expensive and will charge you the whole visit fee (about $50) for three minutes of their time just to answer a question.
