I agree with the 'big let down' reviewer. I expected a REAL cooking class. The class was not instructed to wash their hands, yet handled/prepped all food which we had to put into a general pan. SO basically, you'd be eating someone else's cooties when it was done. UGH! The dining area was 4x8 area the most and the chef/cook served the food.I basically came out with a 5 minute tutorial on appetizers, I got little to no instruction unless asking the chef directly 'what is in that, how do you make it; come on! So disappointed! My only consolation is that I paid for a cancer charity purpose

The pasta making class was a big let down. Firstly, the class was overbooked with 15 adults packed into a small space for 8-10 people. I came to learn technique but came home disappointed. Seems most of the people there came more to socialize than learn. Most of the stuff was already prepared and whatever the chef prepared at the class was viewable by less than half of the class. Space was tight in the kitchen where chef was working. There was no effort to instruct the entire class; except the fortunate few who had choice seats near the kitchen. The chef gave our her e-mail for more recipes but only to a few .. yet we all paid the same fee!

While the food was delicious, we were not able to help much. Most was already prepared, and we just watched and ate. We were promised recipes, and never received them, even after trying to contact the chef several times. Also, $100 of our total was "missing" from our envelope at the end of the afternoon, and we were forced to dip into our pockets again. Very expensive and disappointing.

If you live in Hoboken or nearby you have to check out Urban Kitchen on Adams St. It's cooking school that offers single cooking classes- no need to be tied down certain nights of the week. Each class is a different topic! You can get a group together, or just try something on your own/with a friend. You can also participate in the class and learn how to make something new or just sit and enjoy watching the preparation and then dive into the dishes that have been made. Either way, you're going to have something delicious and have a good time. The classes are also BYOB, so bes sure to stop at the liquor store around the corner for some wine! Definitely a fun night out and a chance to try a new experience. You can check out class listings at their website, www.urbankitchen.biz

PROS: Small classes, class options vary through month, it's BYOB!
CONS: None!
