This place is amazing, and has authentic Italian food, with real Italians running the show- Tony, Frank and Jerry are brothers, they cook in the kitchen and always take the time to come out to say hi to their customers!! BYOB, great value and big portions.
They have great daily specials, always a delicious fish special and their veal dishes are to die for. Start w/ the clams oreganato or mussels, share dishes so you can try alittle bit of everything, like a veal dish and a pasta dish. And save room for Mama's homemade cheesecake! Don't forget to try the pizza, so thin and the sauce is made to perfection!!

This place has been family owned for 30 years and continues to be a place I go to with my family and will continue to go to for years to come. Its a great restaurant with many loyal customers who continue to go back over and over again bc of the great food and the great service.

Also - the 30% thing is totally ridiculous - there is no way a restaurant with a great reputation with such loyal customers woudl do that. i know the owners of this restaurant, they are very honest. I am sure that it must have been a mistake!

I've been going to Sicilian Sun for over 20 years. The food is great and the people are very friendly. It's my favorite italian food in the world at any price. The lasagna and baked ziti are outstanding, the pizza is wonderful. I am not aware of them ever overcharging 30% on a bill as mentioned in a previous posting, it must have been a mistake. Our family loves it so much that we had them cater my daughter's wedding (at her request).

You can't go wrong, enjoy.

I dined at the Sicilian Sun a year ago and have been a regular customer since. The atmosphere is casual and lively, the waiters and host/hostess are warm and friendly, and I have never had better food. From delicious homemade soups and pastas to unsurpassed veal, chicken, and seafood dishes to crunchy, thin crust pizza - the Sicilian Sun is the ultimate dining experience.

Pros: Authentic, consistent Italian cuisine prepared by the owners, three brothers from Italy; BYOB; reasonable prices; creative, fresh specials
Cons: Can't think of one

January 2006

The last time I ordered pizza from here it is was downright disgusting. Inexcusable and the last straw.

There was either sand or glass in my pizza. It was also burnt. The sicilian was flat and raw, and the cheese was all clumped to the sides and bottoms, between the dough it looked uncooked, probably yeast that didn't rise. This place is atrocious. I had ordered in the past and there was always something off about their pizza. Besides the obvious of hardly any sauce or cheese, it never looked right. This place needs to be shut down, and what they call "pizza" is a joke. By the way, how hard is it to cut 8 somewhat even slices on a round pizza?? These clowns haven't figured it out yet.

Before the sand/glass pizza and raw sicilian the pizza from there was like a large cracker with 2 tablespoons of sauce and cheese. It is practically paper thin and nearly always burnt. This place is horrible. Please do yourselves a favor and stay away from there. It's truly a dirty and disgusting place. Now I understand why it's always dark in there. Nasty.

PROS: None
CONS: Just about everything.

I recently ate a pizza here and was pleasantly surprised. The pizza has a unique taste that is only paralleled by one other place I can think of. I also tried the mozzarella sticks for appetizer which were average but the marinara to dip was delicious...I didn't want to waste it so I even dipped my pizza crust in it. The service is adequate and decor as well. Definitely worth a stop, I'll go back!!

I've ordered from Sicilian Sun a few times whenever our family has had a real craving for some Italian food. However, everytime we do order from here, we are reminded why we never do so on a frequent basis.

The food is fine. Portions are great and very filling. However, everything is too salty. We keep noticing this and get turned off by the amount of salt that is in our food. The sweet mussels are impressive and it's probably the only thing we will come back for if we ever get a craving.

Parking is also hard to find on the street which becomes a nuisance.

Recently, it came to my attention that they charge an extra 30% on top of your bill if you charge your meal. I only noticed when I was checking my bank statements online and saw this transaction happen. It eventually went back to what was originally priced but it shouldn't have happened at all. If it's legal it should be stated somewhere. Still, it's wrong to add an extra 30% on the entire bill, tip included as well.

Because of this practice I will avoid Sicilian Sun. If I'm desperate I'll make sure I have cash on me.

PROS: Sweet mussels
CONS: Charged an extra 30% on TOTAL bill, food is too salty
