Went to see the Ice caverns this weekend, took a bunch of kids (like I always do), was very disappointed that they charge $2 to enter now. AND there isn't any fountains like they used to have, with signs saying the coins will be given to charity etc.... I saw the manager standing next to the checkout (I had about $90 worth of stuff in my hands), and told her of my disappointment, and her first exact words were 'I don't really care what you think', and that started it, she went off on me, 'She said... where do you get anything for free anymore?'. I said, that I always came there because of the caverns, and spent about $100 every year, so that's where they make their money. She said 'I don't need your business, I have plenty of people who like the caverns'. I asked her for her name, and who the owner was so I could report her bad attitude, and she said she was the owner. At that point, I put my stuff on the floor and left. I WILL NEVER GO BACK... BRING BACK FOUNTAINS OF WAYNE, and more importantly bring back the Christmas Spirit. She easily could have said "You know, I wish we could have kept it free, but with the economy it just isn't feasilbe" and that would have been the end of it.... oh well... hope the ghosts of christmas past present and future visit her!

I love this place. My favorite time to go is in the autumn for the Halloween stuff! They always have cute stuff for kids going on during the holidays. A nice, big garden needs store, that's been around forever!

I have never been to Fairfield during the summer, but their winter holiday displays are amazing. It is a great day trip for the family. The store is stocked with hundreds of holiday decorations and provides a great place for holiday shopping and pictures.

I like to vist Fairfield Garden Center on a Sunday because everything around me in Bergen County is closed--well not Fairfield Garden Center! This large facility has everything imaginable for the gardener. If you have a water garden or pond, stock up on fish food and koi. If you want a Christmas tree from Pennsylvania, this store is for you! There is so much to browse and see--beautiful plants, pottery, and gifts.

The Autumn attractions are the absolute best. I am a Halloween fan, and this nursery has a huge selection of Halloween collectibles--including Creepy Hollow ceramic houses, which I collect. They have a Halloween walkthrough "Tunnel of " which is so well-decorated and creepy for the older kids. Outside they erect a fun hay maze and other smaller-kid-friendly attractions.

The area and greenhouse--chock full of plants--have recently been decoratively paved so you can navigate through the aisles with ease when you are shopping Fairfield Garden's annuals, perennials, and roses.

If you check in the store, or online, they offer special seminars for your garden interests. The staff is friendly, educated, and willing to help you get things to your car or answer questions.

Fairfield Garden Center is adjacent to a wonderful Holiday Decor shop that is a treasure in itself. You can easily spend two hours browsing both venues.

This is the best of the best in nurseries--don't miss a visit!

I first went to Fairfield Garden Center to check out the Koi. We had just put a pond in and heard their prices were very reasonable. We were pleasantly sursprised, they had everything we woud need to keep our pond running smoothly. THey have filters, fish food, pond pumps and a lovely selection of Koi. They also carry the water plants we needed.

They are a full Nursery beyond this specialty. They carry all evergreens, trees, shrubs and ornamentals as well as bonsai. There are always items on sale.

They do propane tanks, RV's & catering trucks and are open 76 days a week.

Be sure to chek out their pottery.

PROS: Excellent selection
CONS: None
