As if the average 2.5 rating doesn't say enough. Miel patisserie is an embarrassing excuse of an establishment. Pathetic Customer service is an understatement. Incompetent owners. Honest employees admit that owners are negligent, scam artists. Each person associated with the business has a different story. Trying to book my wedding favors months in advance proved difficult as I was told at the door from the employee that the store would lose my order if it was placed early. So I waited a month before my wedding to place my order and get the pricing. Multiple phone conversations took place with multiple people that worked in the store. One quoting one price, and the next, quoting another. Some employees and the owners husband claimed their was a special I would receive with my order. The owner, being the savvy business woman that she is, waited until 2 wks before my wedding to claim this was not true or possible and implied that I was "begging for a deal". I am not the sort of person that asks for handout, let alone expects them.
However, I am the sort of person that expects what they were promised. The owner assured me that she could not "do anything." My experience was horrid, I would never step foot in that place again.

I recently served one of Miel Patisserie's cakes at my son's First Holy Communion luncheon, which was across the way at Toscana Ristorante on May 10, 2008. We were very excited about the cake. It was definately beautiful and it cost more than we've ever spent on a cake, aside from our wedding. After lunch was over and the cake was served, we discovered that it was partially frozen and as a result our guests had very little to say about the cake and left 3/4 of it half eaten. We were terribly disappointed. Of course, it was delicious hours later at home, after it had thawed. I called the patisserie on May 13th and told them what had happened and asked to speak to the owner. While the girl who answered was very nice and apologetic, the owner has failed to return my phone call. We would have been willing to try the patisserie again, but being ignored has left a bad taste in our mouths. We won't be back and we will spread the word that Miel has bad customer service.

As one of the guests at a party the weekend of May 3, I was horrified to sample the cake/cupcakes provided by Miel Patisserie. The cupcakes were inedible (and decorated with candies that could have choked any of the small children they were meant for) and the cake was Sam's Club quality. The owner delivered them almost two hours late and made a scene that left all of us stunned and uncomfortable. With such low quality products, you would think he'd try to make up for it with good manners. Do everyone a favor and stay FAR away from this place. You'll do better with Betty Crocker.

THE OWNER IS A RUDE, NASTY, VILE, POMPOUS MAN! The product is a hair better than he is! One hour and 45 minutes late delivering the cake and cupcakes for our son's adoption/3rd birthday party. The owner shows up with his two kids. When I ask why he's so late he blames me stating the delivery time isn't on the invoice although it clearly stated between 1:00 and 1:30 delivery not 3:15 when the event is almost over. He also said he had 2 other deliveries. he fired Willard, the main reason I went ahead with Miel after reading the bad recent reviews, two days ago so not his (the owner's) problem and he doesn't care about my complaint. Then he tells me not to frequent his store again as though I'm the problem. I said that my $2,000 for last year's wedding and the $300 for this event can go elsewhere in the future. I then publicly announce that no one should ever use Miel Patisserie again and told him to "GET OUT"! The cake was horrible made with Kirsch and flowers for a boys party - not what I ordered. The cupcakes tasted like cake mix (I could have done that) and the kids took a taste and not one ate them. The cake and cupcakes were subpar compared to April 2007 when our 5 wedding cakes were amazing and the hit of the night. If you want to ensure that your event has the baked items you order and that they taste great and are what you requested, DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!

Won't be long now. That's what happens when you think you can run a pastry shop because you previously owned a laundramat! He has driven ALL the staff away, some only stayed a few days. This guy is nuts!

I've been in Miel several times and have seen many changes since it has changed owners in August 2007. The quality has changed, not for the better. I have heard that because of new owner most of the chef's have left because of him. He wants more done in less time with less workers because he wants to save money. If you dont have enough people to work and everyone is rushing around to get things done, then the quality goes down. The employees are very nice but I think these changes are not good. My opinion is this change was not for the better. Just watch what you buy!

I live so near to this outpost of the Le-Bec-Fin pastry chef, that I routinely stop myself from frequenting this shopping center just so I don't spend like $32 on a cake or some creme brulee or some bread. Everything here is just so nice! The products are tasty. You get to sample. The decor is inviting and welcoming. You want to spend time here. In front of the door the "Village Walk" is landscaped beautifully. Only one thing's the problem. The place is usually like a mini ghost town. I can't speak of the freshness of the products either. I saw the clerk throw out the day old bread (wish they would donate it- it's still fresh), but she didn't touch the cakes. The staffers are nice. What I don't like is how you can't just park in front and go, and how you don't see anyone baking when you come. At least I didn't. But I will be back. Just after I lose some weight.
