Went past the place today.. and its gone.. the building is leveled. the only thing left if the guard house and the old world war 2 street lamps. This was a cool place... I wish it did better.

The 94th Group Restaurant is a unique eatery in Fairfield, NJ. Directly situated on a small & private plane airstrip, you can watch planes land and take off while you dine. Fun!

Outside the restaurant is ample parking--war-time Jeeps and other vehicles add to the ambiance of the place. Inside you can spot war-time paraphrenalia such as a real plane's wing complete with authentic bullet holes. There are several dining rooms all decorated neatly and warmly--a fireplace greets new customers and you can ask to sit near the panoramic window to see the attractions outside.

I have eaten here several times for their Sunday Brunch--the food is typical--nothing new here--but fresh. I like the shrimp bar because it's all you can eat and it includes tail sauce. Yummy! You can elect to have an omelette or waffles made to order.

Interestingly it has never been very crowded when I have eaten here--there was one time that my family was one of the only patrons in the large restaurant. Odd--perhaps of the unique and out-of-the-way location. Don't be discouraged though, because this would be a great place to host a party.

Personally, I find the food there "satisfactory"--nothing to write home about. However, the novelty of eating at an airport where (according to one of our servers) JFK Jr. landed and dined at one time kicks up my review to "very good." My son, when he was young, loved watching the planes and listening to their transmissions on head phones conveniently located at our seats. He was so distracted that he forgot he was a picky eater and actually ate some food!

This is a fun destination that is kid and friendly.
