Well this is going to be a fun to explain. I would highly suggest NOT going to this terrible establishment. I will give credit to those who deserve credit, Drew was a pleasure working with, but the same can not be said about the owner Rich. I went there due to my car making a loud whining noise, with a burning smell coming from the engine. Turns out, it was a bad alternator, which I explained should still be covered under warranty, but I didn't have the receipt. Upon contacting the Advanced Auto Parts I purchased it from, they agreed that the part was covered under warranty, just by searching my phone number! Advanced Auto Parts explained that Lacey Shell was SUPPOSED to do a defective warranty and exchange, however, they decided to charge me $290, for a part that was listed at $175. When I asked Rich why this was the case, he explained to me that it costs $2,000/day to keep his doors open, and he needs to overcharge me, to stay in business... Is this a side effect of a bad economy, or a terrible business owner, drastically inflating his costs due to his own poor performance? I'd say the latter.

Long story short, this shop charged me over an additional $290, not including labor, for a part they would have gotten for free through a direct warranty and defective exchange HAD I LET THEM keep the original part. Upon acknowledging the huge discrepancy, I was told to have a nice day, and was hung up on.

I've been a customer for (at leas)t the past 25 years and have always been happy with the diagnosis and repairs of my vehicle. The owner (Rich) is very honest and his prices are fair. I am a female and have had incidents with other mechanics who try to take advantage of my M.V ignorance, This does not happen at Lacey Shell.

This auto repair station always seems to cause more problems in addition to the one you originally went there for, or the problem never really gets fixed. A girlfriend brought in her Cadillac because it was overheating and they supposedly fixed it, but they didn't. She ended up having to have her engine replaced because of a screw up that they did. I wouldn't go there again if you paid me to.

PROS:
CONS: Expensive, poor service, continous problems
