I have been a memeber there for 2rys and tried to cancel my memebership ya right what a nightmare.I was told I had to give 6o days written notice so I did and for 3 months now I have been getting notices from ABC financial saying I owed money(because I notified my credit card not to let them take anymore money).So I've called them three times and 2 of the three times I was told everything was up to date, the last time I was told that I had to pay until January because I have to give 60 days notice.Ok so retro isnt just run by people who could care less about cleaning but they can't count either! I notified them August 31st 2009.I told the lady I was speaking to that I did give them 60days and she told me pretty much oh well you have to pay thru january and if I don't it will go to collections.So tomarrow I am calling my lawyer and i am going to go after both retro fitness and Abc financial because I am not the only one they"ve have done this to.My friend has been trying to get out of her contract for 2 years now.I am not going to pay money to a fitness club that has broken equipment and is nasty to be in.

I have been a member since the doors opened (as Powerhouse), and it seems everyday that I go in (literally everyday), there are more issues. First of all, the place is DIRTY! Staff changes happen often. Broken equipment, which are not fixed for an extended period of time, if at all. In fact, during the last 'inspection' of equipment, I along with other 'regulars' were asked to "use" those machine, as to not be evaluated by the young gentleman walking around from the corporate office. Out dated equipment as well. All 80's all of the time has to stop! I have been to quite a few sister Retro's and the music is current and at a level that if you did not want to hear it, you could easily 'block' it out with your i pod. Not at this place, the music is so loud that you cannot even speak to others working out next to you, much less hear a fore mentioned i pod. The televisions, when they do work, are only able to tune into a few channels. And the televisions above the cardio machines (on the deck and out front), are constantly set on cartoons, MTV or the Yankees channel. Really???? I realize for $20 a month, we should not expect much, but this is ridiculous. There have also been at less 2 pandemics of ringworm in the gym that I, along with others, have brought to Theresa's attention (the newest manager), and nothing has been done. I realize that the club can not inspect bodies upon arrival, but at least put informational signs in the locker rooms so treatment can begin. Another issue, the trainers, for the most part, are out of shape uneducated morons with cookie cutter workouts that will eventually lead to injury among members.

I have been a member here for a few years. I almost quit due to the facility upkeep (or lack thereof), but new owners came in and revamped the place - including a lot of new equipment. Most importantly, they gave it a much needed cleanup and now I love it. The ladies in the childcare room are great with my children and the staff is attentive and friendly.
