The owner, Chris Gamm is a terrific guy. Not around as much because of health issues, but he has quality artists in his absence. Anything you want from simple off the wall stuff to custom designs. Small items to full sleeves, backs etc. Reasonable prices and he will work with you. Friends become customers and customers become friends. highly recommended.

My son just returned from Under the Gun a very happy young man. Today is his 18th birthday and this was the only present he wanted. He had checked out other places, but through many recommendations decided UTG was the only place he would go for his first tattoo. He thought everyone was very nice, the place was clean, they made him feel comfortable, the pain wasn't nearly as bad as he expected, the price was less than what had been quoted the day before, and he got exactly what he wanted. What more could anyone ask for?

Pros: clean, clean, clean, friendly, talented

Cons: can't think of one

I have gotten my last two tattoos here and they are one of the only tattoo places that I have ever been to that understands the words "customer service". They are friendly and they don't have that "i'm better than you" mentality that many tattoo places have. I moved 800 miles away, but I still go back to Under The Gun for all my tattoos! They also do a great job turning your idea or basic drawing into a beautiful piece of art, very talented, customer oriented, clean and safe!
Thanks guys!

I stopped in Jersey Devil Tattooing to get a price and time frame for a tat I bought offline. The gentleman there was impersonable, and could not give me a clear cut price for my tattoo. I felt more like I was interrupting his day, rather than being a welcomed customer. I left unsatisfied.

The next day, I decided to run over to "Under The Gun" and check them out. Some friends from The local Home Depot reccommended them before, so I thought why not? As soon as I walked in the place I knew I was right where I was supposed to be. Country/Cowboy at heart, this place was designed after my own heart. The tattooist sitting at the desk was receptive, nice, personable and funny. He also ended up being the tattooist who did my tattoo for me. I wanted a letter "L" added to the design, and he hand drew the perfect cursive "L" right where I wanted it - which completed my quest. He also quoted me a price less than the "minimum" price Jersey Devil gave me. Having had 3 small tattos done before, I was prepared for the pain that was ahead of me....or so I thought! My tattoo guy kindly let me borrow his sweatshirt to prop up on - and inadvertently to bite, pull and almost shred. He even let me take a few popsicle sticks from his jar to torture to release some of the surmountable pain I was enduring! (I'm a big wimp!)

As my tattoo was being done, and I was in excruciating pain... the 3-4 guys that worked there were bantering back and forth through their cubicle walls making me laugh, therefore, taking my mind off the pain. They were all very funny - and quick with the wit! Seeing I was in soooooo much pain, my tattoo guy finished pretty quickly - and did an unbelievable great job! I love my tattoo. ...and I might even go back for more (might...lol).

My cost: with tip, was the minimum amount JD wanted to charge me! ...time: way less than anticipated.

GREAT ATMOSPHERE! GREAT PRICING! CLEAN! .....and totally FUNNY GUYS!
Denise

The artists at Under the gun are just that artists. The have both old and new school tattoo artists. The atmosphere is comfortable and the make you feel secure in the knowledge that they walk first timers thru the process and help maintain the aftercare of your new tattoo. Come in with any design and they will do it, exactly or add your personal requests. I went in with my own design and came out with my first tattoo in rememberence of my son who just passed away. They were comforting, professional and caring. Above all they are experts who study all aspects of art.
