my first experience was great. just drinks and an appetizer at the bar. so i went back for dinner and was very disappointed. the prices are ridiculous. i had the chicken which was outstanding, very tender and cooked perfectly. but the dish was $20! the pricing is definitely pretentious, service was not good, our table was next to the coats. i was overall unimpressed. i will go back for the bar scene, very pretty crowd and cool music if you are in the mood for Spanish salsa.

I have been to Nova Terra 3 times. Everytime I have had a great time. The food is delicious, the waitstaff are knowleadgeable and the Mojitos are really good. The atmosphere is fun. The music is awesome on fri/sat night.

Nova Terra is an interesting place to dine in center city New Brunswick. I found the waiter to be extremely knowledgeable of the menu items, even a bit overdramatic. Mojitos ice cold and just the right amount of mint. Appetizers, I would recommend the mixed plate for 2 next time; this time we had the fried calamari (nothing special but good), came with 2 sauces one spicy marinara and one habanero mayo but it was mostly mayo. Also had 6 "gigamo" oysters from Washington State. Ridiculously small, impossible to taste and a ripoff $16 for 6. Main course: tiger shrimp with plaintains, delicious and mahi mahi carribean style. good mahi, a tad too much cumin. Big shrimp. Profiterole filled with icecream for dessert. Tasty. Oh also the bread selection was plentiful and very fresh. Service was great, not rushed. Slightly above average price for the area, $$$ around $120 for 2 with drinks. Rooms are pleasant, bathrooms clean, one upstairs, several downstairs. Friendly greeting too. Great music when you can hear it. Would recommend for 2+, not for kids or those with the inexperienced palate that want to keep it that way... Overall really enjoyed this meal and atmosphere.

A really fun atmosphere. The dcor is original and hip. In all, your experience at Nova Terra will be fun and lively. Food is delicious, but very expensive. Portion size is decent. There is great music. The wait staff is very courteous. To my surprise there were absolutely no problems parking on the weekends.

I've been to this restaurant many a time. It surpasses nearly all other restaurants in service and the creativity/ originality of its exotic, out of this world dishes. The prices are a little steep but who cares about the price if the food is this good. I certainly don't.
