Food and service was great. There were a good amount of people eating there as well. Beer was well priced. I was a little upset the jukebox wasn't on..but i guess it is only on at night.

I tried this place. Looks like an institution in the area. I like it, I like it alot! Great place to meet friends, have a burger & a beer, watch a game. Tasty burgers.
Pros: Burgers, Meeting place.
Cons: Noise, but what do you expect at a Bar & Grill!

The Allendale Bar and Grill offers a large menu with many classic bar and grill items such as reubens, burgers, and clubs. It does not stop there though. AB&G also has a make your own salad option. You get to pick your protein, greens, and five toppings. The salads are huge and delicious (because you get ot decide what is in it!). I think another big attraction for people who go there is the popcorn machine. They are constantly making popcorn out of an old fashioned popcorn popper that you would see at fairs. The service is efficient and friendly. Check this place out!

I am a big salad eater. Allendale Bar & Grill always has several different salads on the menu but they also offer you ability to make your own salad by using a checklist of items that you can use to make a salad. I like being able to vary the salads I eat. My only complaint is that it can be very loud there.

The food was good and tasty. We had to sit near the bar (it was busy and the only seats available). It's a nice place to gather with friends for dinner, lunch or a drink after work. Price is reasonable.

Looking for a great town restaurant and bar? Then check out Allendale Bar and Grill in Allendale. Great location right in the center of town and plenty of parking on the street or in the parking lot next door. They have great food specials and every Tuesday night they have a make your own all you can eat pasta bar. You simply go down and pick the type of pasta you want, the sauce you want, and the veggies or other items you want to go in it. And there are so many options it is hard to choose. It is So great.. and it is only $12.95 and includes soup or salad, the endless pasta bowl, and a drink. It is a fantastic price. There are three levels to this place. And there is a private room for parties that can be rented out. This is a great local eatery and bar.

We've been going to AB&G for years and never tried their brunch. If you are a big fan of protein and sugar, it's the place for you!!
There's an omelet station where you can pretty much get any kind of omelet you want and you get to watch it being made. The hot foods I prefer, eggs, sausage and potatoes are only part of an offering that include bacon, pancakes and french toast.
The sweets run from plain donuts, cut in half, to a very sweet fried chocolate and toast concoction that was a complete surprise when I took a bite. There was a nice offering of fresh fruit.
The strangest item was a bean and vegetable soup that didn't seem to go with the rest of the meal.
We had mimosas and coffee to drink, nothing unusual there.
I would recommend it. It was not at all crowded, which was a surprise, so it would be a great place to go with a group of friends on an early Sunday afternoon.
PROS: The brunch is a nice addition to a local hangout.
CONS: The food sitting in the hot plates was not as warm as it could be.

The Allendale Bar & Grill is a popular place to hang out especially after work in Allendale, NJ. Lots of 20 and 30 something folks congregrate to this place for some fun and relaxation. You can see a crowd form at the bar watching the tube and drinking beer.
If you want a more quiet setting, then you can choose to have a sit down meal in the restaurant section. I'm one of those people that believe bars and pubs serve great food with generous portions at good prices. The AB&G falls right into that category. I'm always taking home leftovers because I can never finish my meal in one sitting.
The staff is very friendly and sometimes very busy so getting their attention can be hard, unless you flash them.
The problem I have with the place is the smoking. The only way to the restaurant portion is through the smoke-filled bar. Do this when you enter and exit and you'll definitely have it lingering on your clothes for a while. This can be a nuisance if you detest the smell of smoke.
Other than that, the food is great. Definitely try the all-you-can eat brunch on Sundays. It's a feast unlike any other.

CONS: Cigarette smell all over clothes

good for a late night snack with your friends or a quick dinner. Not a very romantic setting but if your craving fries and a beer this is the place to go. Lots of sports fans!
