The name "Raymond's" extends past Montclair as one can tell by the lines that stretch down the street on a daily basis. Breakfast being my favorite meal of the day I consider myself an expert on the perfect Eggs Benedict and believe me, Raymond's has it.

Pros: Best Eggs Benedict in NJ

.

I have been to Raymond's 3 times this month because I cannot get enough of their breakfast. This is by far the best breakfast spot in the area. I think they deep fry the French Toast in order to make it totally to die for. Their omelets are incredible and I don't know how they get their eggs to almost float above the contents inside- which are all fresh and plentiful. The eggs are very light and fluffy. The side of bacon is enough to share (I'm a bacon hoarder) so it works for me. The only drawback is that this place is loud- the acoustics are really bad.. but if your there to eat who cares. It's set up like and old time cafe- very cute, but cramped, and small. I still don't care- it's worth it. Now I have to test their lunch skills.

Pros: French Toast

Cons: Cramped Space

This place is always bustling with people. It's always full of families and couples. The service is super speedy and hospitable. The food is also really unique and good. I had the french toast (which comes with fruit), which was served on French bread. This was a really nice surprise because it added a lot to the flavor. I paid about 8 for my meal + drink. I went with my two best friends and talked for about an hour or so. The fact that the place was so busy, yet let us stay to chat shows a lot about their character. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to catch up at a quaint cute place.

This is a cool place to eat and hang out. It is on the style of a 40's style diner, it has good food, go for a casual bite to eat. I highly recommend them.

I've been to Raymond's a few times and I am never quite satisfied when I leave. The food doesn't live up to it's potential, and the menu isn't overly extensive. Plus, I don't enjoy the cramped inside of the restaurant.

Raymond's is ok. It would probably be easy to get a quick bite there, but there are definitely better options on Church Street. Walk around and discover more than the generic food at Raymond's.

While I occasionally enjoy Raymonds, I wouldn't necessarily say that there's something for everyone. You should check the menu first. But the staff is quick and attentive, and the food satisfying (although a bit pricey).

I spoke to the owner on the phone (to request a reservation) and he was incredibly rude and curt with me. Even though his wait staff and this website say that Raymond's takes reservation, he refused to reserve a table for me and my party of 10 tonight claiming that it would be "a bad business choice on his end."

Also, he was insensitive about food allergies - when the owner was asked about alternative menu options that do not include ingredients in bread, the owner said, "I don't understand the problem - if this kid can't eat bread, then he doesn't eat the bread." An owner should never be insensitive to any food allergies.

Please do NOT go to this restaurant. It does not even deserve 1 star. Funny how he thought it would be a "bad business choice on his end" to give me a reservation, and turns out he will never get MY (and hopefully YOUR) business again.

Cons: Terrible Management, No reservations, Bad phone conduct, No liquor license

Make this spot your regular haunt...for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner or dessert. The only thing that beats the interesting and fresh food is the atmosphere and the personal touch when Raymond himself greets you. Once you try Raymond's, you'll understand why.
