This market is best approached from River St. Main Street will only give you a few sidewalk metered spaces, and the street coming up from River St. is one way heading out. From the River Street approach, you can access the parking lot - just be careful - the high rate of coming and going risks a demolition derby atmosphere, and people see you backing out and walk right behind your vehicle.

This market reminds me of many of Brooklyn's spots where the bustling energy reflects the multi-cultural mosh of our society. It's loud and kind of brusk - like a train station. But you are not here for the " ambiance" - you have to contend for a parking space, scramble for your produce, and get out. The produce prices are some of the lowest around, but you should still keep your eye on the supermarket specials too.

What I really like about this place is the fresh seafood. A crew of workers are aggressively preparing the fresh seafood to order ( not cooking, just cleaning and fileting) One side of the fish counter is for whole fish, the other is for the shrimp and filets. You pay separately there at the fish counter. There is also a prominent meat/deli counter, so you can handle your basic meats and veggie needs. The only thing is, at times, it can get crazy busy and the aisle space is not very friendly to carts. The crowd gets more aggressive which means a tad pushy, but they are just trying to also avoid getting run over. My mother in law loves it but I have to make sure we take her when it's very slow or she'll get mowed down. I recommend it, especially for fresh fish.

I shop Giant Farmers Market for fresh produce, where I'll find much better prices than at either my local Shop Rite or Stop & Shop. The produce is usually ripe and best eaten within a day or two of purchase.

Giant Farmers Market is very similar to other Asian food markets found in the area. However, this place has a bigger selection of fresh produce, and all the prices are very reasonable. There is plenty of parking in the area. You can find a lot of different products that you may not typically find in a domestic supermarket.
I was recommended this place by a friend, and I would recommend it to others!
