The little baby that found me, Macee, the vet said she had Parvo. But IDK since not usual symptoms. She didn't vomit, her jaw was locked. I noticed Friday night she didn't eat dinner, but seemed alright otherwise.
Saturday morning, she sat by the water bowl and just put her face in and not getting water. I checked her and realized she couldn't open her mouth.
I checked online (vets office not opened yet) and said it's caused by infection.
I called the vets that morning (Saturday) and they gave me an appt for early afternoon.
Right before it was time to leave, she urinated, and it was red with blood and the oder was horrible.
I went in and told them and they still made my sick baby wait 2 1/2 hours. All the other dogs there were not sick as they were jumping around, etc.
So finally got in, she had a temp and laid down. She couldn't stand for long. At home, she was walking around like no problem. Finally Dr. Mac from Wilwyn came in and said she may have Parvo, so they would keep her and put her on IV.
I never thought it would be the last time I saw her.
Doc was suppose to call me, and never did. I made calls to inside number, and to the answering service, who told me, They will not get the message until Monday morning as we are not allowed to call him"
Why have an answering service then?
Called a few more times Monday morning and he wasn't in. Finally he calls back, and nonchalantly said she passed away. I started crying and just hung up. I found out later she died Sunday night.
My parents have always went to Wilwyn when Dr. Wynn had it and to the next one, Dr. Zirkle. In my adulthood, I also went there with Dr. Zirkle, and also when Dr. Mcalonan bought the practice, so a long time client.
The staff are horrible, rude and uncaring, particularly one female there.
In talking with another who des rescue and use to take all the dogs there, she no longer goes, basically with the same complaints as many that have stopped going there. She told me about one dog she had there and they killed her while at the hospital there. A staff member told her on the QT that they gave her the wrong meds.
I now have a new vet and what a difference. The staff are very caring and helpful.
I just wish I had changed before Macee. I took her to my old vet (Wilwyn) on the 11th day I had her when she wandered in my yard through a small hole in the fence. I was waiting to see if anyone claimed her through postings, police and shelters.
I still wonder, did she have Parvo? Was she given the wrong meds? Was she given any meds? Did anyone bother to check on her?

They gave us a discount. That's why I gave them one star. This was after they sent our dog home too early after surgery. They even said the dog didn't look well; not fully awake. It died that night. They did admit they made a mistake, but too late. I have not learned yet b/c i called about my new dog bleeding from the rectum, they told me to call back tomorrow. Good luck everyone. The doctor is a very nice guy, but everyone there is not on the same page.

I can't believe some of the reviews I read, Dr. Bill is one of the best most caring Vets I have ever met and very reasonable prices as well ,Very down to earth. I have numerous dogs and wouldnt dream of taking them elsewhere I have had several serious health problems over the years with a dog and Dr. Bill has always taken time out for the dogs no matter how busy he was or how late or early in the day when I contacted him with a problem..I would recommend him to anyone ..he has years of experience , simply the best

I have been taking my pets to Dr. Mac for at least 18 years. Although some people find him to be old school, I personally think that he is the best vet I have ever taken my pets to. He is gental, kind, compassionate, and will be honest with you (which most are not any more). Everyone in his office is like a family and treats their patients as such. He has always been there for me on the holidays, weekends, and even when it was not convienent to him. I will continue to take my pets to him and recomend him and his office to others who need a good compasionate vet.

I have to say i do not agree with the negative posts on Dr. Mac and the girls at wilwynn...my wife and i just had bought a puppy and we paid a good deal for him (1000 plus) and the second night he got very sick diarrea and throwing up and wouldnt take any liquids or even wanted to walk or eat..i call dr. Mac's office at 7 in the morning to get the answer service and she got in contact w/ Dr. Mac and he told me to get some pedialite and spoon feed him for the next hr and bring him in right away...he took him in right at 9 and took extremely great care of my little guy....he gave him a few shots and gave us some medication to give me and in two days hes was 1000% better and back to his little puppy self...i would not take my dog anywhere else and if we had regular MD's like him we all would be in better shape too he is a very caring and compasionate person and the staff is all very professional as well A++ Mike D.

I will not take my dog to any other Vet ( and I have been to several). I travel 35 miles each way to get there. He has always treated my dog with care and kindness and is always available. The staff are all great. Even if the wait is long at times- it is worth it. Dr. Bill is the best. My dog has been there for days after surgery and was treated great.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS VET!
I have been a vet tech for years and have 25 years hands on training,Very unprofessional! very dirty! and the staff are short and nasty needless to say the one looks to be smoking drugs.this man has killed 14 dogs in 1 week! due to negligence and dirty equipment (this is a fact! )He is old time you got that right hes got old ways i like a fresh young vet that knows new treatments and is more educated in the canine world of today and i will pay the extra money knowing what i know with his/hers confirmation. Old vets get tired and then its time for them to retire!...an old job, old news, not happy

Dr Mac and staff have supported the four legged family members of our extended family for years...We recently had our dearest greyhound leave us due to illness. The compassion, the caring, and overall assistance we received will stay within our hearts forever.
Yes, you may have to wait since he never turns away a patient in need is only a good testament to who he is and how he chooses to practice. I am forever grateful.

I have been taking my pets here for over 20 years and have always received the most caring service. Dr. Mac goes out of his way for our pets. He took my little dog home with him last summer when he felt she wasn't going to make it through the night.

The people who work at Wilwynn are very caring people. The wait is long in some cares but the care my pet received was well worth it. The prices are not bad either. My pet had to stay overnight and the very called me early the next day and informed me that he had stayed late that night and took care of his issues. Do not hear that often.

I saw the other post and had to sit down and write my own review. I have been going to this vet for years. Whenever I call he is always available....night, holidays, etc. He is very honest and truly cares about your pets. He does not charge an arm and a leg for services and will do everything within reason to help a sick animal. If the animal is suffering and there is no help...he will be honest and tell you. He will not use you and drain your bank account even when he knows it's to no avail. I love this guy!!! I also like his staff too...they are kind and caring and treat your pets like they are their own. You cannot find this kind of place in this day and age. Sometimes you have to wait a little longer than you would like to get in to see him, but I am here to tell you that it will be well worth the wait. If you want to see some vet that really doesn't give a damn, but will take you pet in and give him unnecessary treatment just to make a buck...then this is not the place for you. Besides, I don't want to chit chat with you while I'm sitting in the waiting room either. Go to your high dollar vet and get ripped...I'm sticking with my country vet from the old school!

Unfortunately Dr. Bill is no longer the caring and compassionate vet, that he use to be. My dog was recently vomiting blood and when I called him, his response was to give him Pepto-Bismol. He did not want to see him, nor was he interested in x-raying his stomach to see if he had swallowed something sharp or something that was causing the stomach lining. I took my dog to another vet, how immediately asked to see him, took x-rays of his stomach, performed a barium swallow and took blood work, started him on IV fluids and IV antibiotics, all to ensure that there was not a serious problem going on. My dog spent 3 days in the hospital and the end result was that my dog did indeed have severe pancreatitis. Had I listen to Dr. Bill, a vet who I have gone to for 20+ years, my dog would have been dead. Dr. Bill is ok if you only want a vet who will care for the yearly shots, but if you have a problem, please go to another vet.
