Our cat was a patient for three years. At first we were very happy with his care and the overall service. However it became clear that he was a special case. The vets at Woodbridge may be good doctors but they are not specialists. We trusted the Woodbridge vets to help him, and if they couldn't, to tell us that we should seek a second opinion. There is no shame in that.

Sadly the underlying problem presented itself too late. Two days after a visit to Woodbridge, in which the doctor dismissed our concerns about our cat's constant purring, we rushed our cat to the emergency vet in respiratory distress. An xray showed he had a collapsed lung and fluid in his chest cavity. We were referred to a specialist hospital, and a cardiologist did an EKG and discovered that our cat had advanced heart disease. Surgery to repair his collapsed lung was not an option. With broken hearts we made the impossible decision to end his suffering and he passed away in our arms.

To add insult to injury: about a month after our cat's death, we received an automated reminder for the next blood test from Woodbridge. When we called them about it - giving the benefit of the doubt that perhaps they hadn't received the final report from the specialist hospital - the receptionist got defensive and testy with us. Finally, we wrote a letter about our experience and our concerns to Dr. Adler. We never received any acknowledgment or reply.

We don't wish any ill upon the vets at Woodbridge, however we wish that they would have advised us to seek specialized care sooner. Nothing can bring our wonderful kitty back to us, but if we can help other pet parents avoid this kind of heartbreak then maybe he won't have died in vain. For routine visits, they are fine doctors. For difficult or specialized cases, get a second opinion.

We had to make that awful decision for our little Mitzzi after it was clear that her treatment was not alleviating her suffering or buying her time to have her treated in a higher level facility. The act of euthanizing her went very badly, but not necessarily through the fault of the attending veterinarians, who were professional and sympathetic, as our little Mitzzi was a unusually small cat with tiny veins.

Our loss was made much worse, however, after we received a call from a staff member of the facility, informing us that her cremains were ready to be picked up in a very insensitive manner. We then wrote a polite and non-emotional letter to the managing veterinarian of the facility complaining about the staff member??s insensitive manner and suggested that calls of this nature be delegated to another staff member, particularly one with a more sensitive demeanor. There are several at this facility who would have done a better job.

We received no response from the facility, not even a phone call from the recipient of the communication or a member of his staff. After verifying that he received the letter, we made the decision that we cannot ever set foot in that facility again, and decided to have our five feline companions treated in a facility that cares about their clients, or at least makes a pretense.

I've been taking my German Shepherd to Woodbridge Veterinary Group for the past several years. The service has been exceptional and the staff has been more than professional. Of the doctors that have treated my dog (which may be all at this point), I truly have nothing negative to say. Each has been thorough and treated my dog as if it was their own. I would recommend this place to any new or veteran pet owners, the medicine and prices are excellent!!

I just returned from putting my dog of 16 years down and felt compelled to write of my experience at Woodbridge Vet Group. Unfortunately, I was so distraught, I cannot remember the Dr's name in order to give her the recognition she deserves. I believe her last name may have started with a G??
But she was phenomenal in dealing with Me (a wreck) and my dog, who she treated like her own. I could never have expected a Dr to be as compassionate as she was. It was like having a friend with you. Her concern was heartfelt and she was so supportive. After the initial sedation, she knelt down with us stroking him and comforting me.....and also knew when it was time to let us be alone. She was genuine and professional and it was greatly appreciated.
Their service was outstanding.

I brought a stray cat there. It had a big bulge in its stomach. I explained to them that I did not want to spend alot of money if possible since the cat seemed VERY sick. They agreed. The next day i got a call from the Vet office saying the cat had died that night. Then they told me the bill was $360. I asked them why would you charge me $360 since the cat was almost dead anyway? They could not answer my question. Never took any of my pets there again. I now go to Bansfield Hospital in Woodbridge, and like them alot.

My Golden has been going to this veterinarian since he was a pup (2yrs). The doctor is great with him, even though sometimes Genome can be too overactive. The vet is very professional and we have never spent more than 20 minutes at a time waiting to be seen. Getting an appointment isn't too complicated, they also have a very flexible schedule which includes weekends and later hours. A+ for service.

Its very hard to get an appointment but once I did I came out happy. The dr.s were so good with my dog. Even after I warned about the dog being nippy with strangers, the dr was able to fully examine him without a muzzle. I was impressed!
