Where should I start? Furnace in the house when we bought it several years old but two service men said it had several years of life. Worked great. Region oil set up their yearly maintenance visit then Region Oil's tech (on the GOLD contract) broke the furnace. Within 30 mins they were on the phone (unsolicited) offering to sell me a new furnace. Ummm you broke it! Either fix it or replace it, that is what contracts are for! No they didn't do that, had to pay for the new furnace myself (I did NOT have Region Oil install it). Last year their delivery guy said my driveway "looked icy" even though it had been plowed and salted and UPS had no trouble getting up it so they didn't deliver oil until the tank ran dry then charged me a MINT for an emergency delivery. This year they said the driveway was "untouched" even though again it had been plowed and salted, 3 days of calling for delivery (on an auto delivery contract and yet no delivery since MAY, it's JANUARY!) and now again the tank is dry. This is how they treat a GOOD customer! (two houses, bills paid the day they are received) STAY AWAY! We're setting up a contract with another company ASAP.

Region Oil - Run away and don't look back!

Region oil has a pricing plan called the Ceiling Plan. The premise is that your heating oil price will fluctuate with the market but not exceed a specified 'ceiling price.'

I've been with Region for several years and I've always subscribed to this plan.

Every year my price is starts at the ceiling price (highest possible price), and it remains there for the duration of my contract.

I've called when the market goes down and the response I get is 'We apologize, however we purchased your oil at the higher price."

Doesn't matter when I call them, it always the same response.

REALLY! You know that 'my' oil was purchased at the higher price. BS!!

In my opinion they are dishonest with their customers and could care less about them.

Readers be very wary of positive reviews as they are most likely being posted by Region Oil themselves or a 3rd party service.

Anyone who has had any dealing with them wouldn't post anything positive.

There are many other oil honest oil company's in NJ that charge a fair rate.

Region Oil isn't one of them.

STAY AWAY. This is the WORST service EVER.
I'm pissed off from the day I sign one year contract with Region Oil.
I should give them less than one star but I can't
1. Monthly payment (ANNUAL budget plan) I signed for, had lower payments than on the first and all other statements. Sales person explain it to me that oil price is higher that when I sign my contract ??? Really, please tell me why I sign this contract at all?
2. For all year I paid ceiling price even when oil price was 60 cents lower (Region Oil price)
3. They forced me to pay for annual maintenance twice. I canceled this service. It took them 3 months to take it off from my payments.
4. Four months before my plan expired I had phone call from Region Oil. Customer Service person asked me "If I want to extend contract for the next year?" My answer was "No". Than they cancel my CURRENT ANNUAL (12 months) contract & send me a bill to pay it in full. If I remember well I signed 12 month contract not 8 month contract. Customer service explanation was
"Because you do not want to extend contract, we have to cancel your current contract & you have to pay it in full".
Please for your own good STAY AWAY FROM REGION OIL.
First, once & last time Region Oil customer.

Nice service guys but terribly inept!...We started w/a heat zone problem downstairs...which led to a heat zone problem upstairs..
which led to the air handler not working...All in all it took 4 trips to fix 1 problem which they mushroomed into 4 problems...and each tech was more confused than the last!

Billing team tries to muscle you into paying fake fees once you stop using them. I went on vacation during winter so i refused one delivery...their answer was to close my account and bill me for the next 6 months for a "promotional fee". I didn't pay it!!

Lesson learned!!....DON'T USE REGION OIL!!

You sign a contract with them in order to get a "ceiling price" meaning that regardless of how high the price of oil goes, the maximum you will have to pay is that ceiling. Sounds sensible right? Wrong. From that point on expect every delivery to be at the ceiling price regardless of the price of oil. They are currently charging me $1.30 - $1.40 per gallong higher than every other local supplier and my price is always at my cap. Their explanation? They are a "full service company and have high overheads". They were good enough to offer me the opportunity to cancel my contract for just $399. Amazing thing is, I can cancel my contract, pay the fee and still end up about $400 better off than if I stay with them for the rest of the season. Be aware that signing a contract with this company means you WILL pay more than you would if you shopped around. I guess thats their way of rewarding their loyal customers.

Region Oil has supplied us for several years. We are currently satisfied with their service. However their prices seem to be a bit high for the area. We are now shopping around to see what the market will bare.
