We have been taking my dogs, as well as the dozen dogs that we have fostered, to Dr. Gang since we moved to the area five years ago. Having moved around a lot prior to that, we have had experience with over twenty veterinarians and she is by far our favorite. She is professional and compassionate at the same time, and the size of her office allows her to get to know us and our dogs so we have more personal care. There have been numerous occasions where we took our dogs to a specialist and their advice or treatment was inadequate compared to what we received from Dr. Gang. She transformed some of our foster dogs who came to us sick, many of whom had records from other vets who were unable to effectively diagnose and treat the problems. She even offered to come in on Halloween when I called because my dog had an allergic reaction to a vaccination. I completely trust her advice when it comes to our dogs. Several of my friends also bring their pets to her and are completely satisfied. Her staff is also incredibly helpful and accommodating.

I still use UPenn for serious emergency visits, mostly because her facility is not a hospital so it is not equipped to perform procedures that may be necessary.

I don't understand how anybody could write a negative review about Dr. Gang and her staff. Maybe they just didn't like what she had to tell them about the condition of their pets or they did not realize that medical care for pets can be expensive. Her rates are comparable to other vets in the area, but I have still heard people complain.

I have been using Dr. Gang's services for over 20 years now. Her and her staff are caring, compassionate and professional. As for the 2 posters who have given negative reviews, they either have some kind of ax to grind or else they themselves are the ones who behaved in a rude manor. I have seen Dr. Gang and her staff go out of their way to accommodate the most difficult of patients (well their owners actually). With regard to the office recommending U of P Animal Hospital for emergencies, there is a reason for that. Firstly, it is impossible for them to be familiar with every single 24 hr. animal hospital. 2nd, I have 1st hand experience with the type of care your pet can receive at some of the 24 hour emergency hospitals.

I have a cat who became quite ill over the Thanksgiving holiday about 10 years ago. Because it was a holiday I had to bring her to a 24 hr emergency hospital. The next day I spoke with Dr. Gang and described her symptoms. Dr. Gang told me to make sure the hospital ran a specific blood test. I relayed this info to the hospital. Meanwhile a week later my cat was doing no better and I decided to pick her up, figuring if she was going to die, it was going to be at home with me. Lo and behold when I got there to pick her up, they told me they found out what was wrong and it was the very thing Dr. Gang had told me to have them check for. If they had run the test when I requested it, my cat could have gone home the next day instead of spending a week there on IV and not eating. The medicine actually made her well enough to eat less than 12 hours after her first dose. So it cost me $800 for a weeks worth of "care", unneeded medical tests, and boarding. If they had listened to me (Dr. Gang really) she would have only been there 2 days.

I met Mary Gang when she just started and had a Mobile Service. I had looked and looked for a vet, I had a sick dog, she walked me through Starzie's inevitable death, presenting options the whole way. After that, there was Pouncie, Kaboom and Leo, Little Yip some cats, some dogs she loved and cared about with me. She taught me how to handle multi cats, how to establish dominance, and truly I had a peaceful, healthy, happy household.I left the area four years ago.I live on the other side of the USA. People ask me what I most miss about the East and I say: Mary Gang. Know she is special. I have yet to replace her and have accepted I won't. ,Her medical knowledge, strong understanding of the pet and expressive communications i cannot be replaced. This woman has a gift. Be delighted if she accepts you in her very full practice.

Mary Gang S VMD is the most thoughtful, loving, skilled, vet in the south-jersey area. Her intimate practice is filled with an altruistic, considerate and compassionate staff who truly enjoy healing and helping animals. Dr. Gang and her staff care for all of our little ones but most recently her team gave our sweet cat Nina an additional year when other institutions gave up on her. Dr. Gang is a conscious listener and connects with not only her pet patients but also their pet parents. Dr. Gang was the only vet that understood that our sweet Nina wasn't ready to give up on life and she was also the only one willing to lend her caring hand and extensive expertise to aid in Nina's recovery and ongoing health issues. I've noticed that most vets in this area address animals as disposable commodities but Dr. Gang respects how our precious pets are actually invaluable family members. Dr. Gang's qualifications as a veterinarian extend beyond being warm-hearted, she also trained at the University of Pennsylvania, notably the most acclaimed veterinarian school in the country. My husband and I highly advise pet parents to take your little ones to Dr. Gang for all of your pets' health-care needs.
