Reviews for Ewing Township Animal Shelter

Ratings_icons Hope for the animals

pamela r.

The care givers at the Ewing Animal shelter have an innate sense of compassion and care for animals. The animals are all well cared for and in clean conditions. There was even a TV and Christmas tree in the dog area! These animals are so lucky to have a safe haven and people that are truly giving and loving. These wonderful people give the word hope a new meaning.

a shelter. The people that maintain and take care of allllll these animals truly care about them. It's not in the best of neighborhoods, but once inside, it's unbelievably clean for all there is. The two women there do a thankless and unbelievable job of taking care of the animals.

The 2 women who work full time at the Ewing Animal Shelter are extremely caring and devoted. They are animal lovers thru and thru and I do not know how they do it. They work very hard to take care of animals that come in to the shelter and try to find them good homes. They and the shelter do not get the support they should from Ewing Township but they keep on helping the animals. These 2 women get an A+. Ewing Twp gets a failing grade.

Ratings_icons Never Came to My Home

Two dogs came onto my porch and killed my cat -- they pulled him apart!! I beat them with a rake until they let him go. I called for the Animal Control Officer AFTER the cat died in my car on the way to my vet. I called for help. SPCA never responded. Meanwhile, I found the location of the two dogs! I went to SPCA to tell them the location. (1) No report was taken. (2) Animal control officer said it was legal to kill my cat in Ewing on my property (3) Said he never came because he was looking for dogs but did not care that I found the dogs (4) Asked me if the cat was vaccinated! Total unacceptable lack of concern and caring by the women at the SPCA who appeared hung-over and absolutely unprofessional!! The Animal Control officer had no compassion or concern. I sent Email to Health Department, Dr. Lee. He never responded. Ewing Township is currently undergoing a recall and one of the reasons I jointed is because I have never seen any commitment to helping people when you go to any office and this is one of the glaring examples of bad government!

Most townships are slow and do not attend to animal problems within a neighborhood and make people take actions into their own hands. We recently noticed a couple of stray cats roaming through our yards, and notified the animal shelter. There was an 8 hour turn around which was little over a day and they were actually able to catch the cats and bring them in safely without being harmed.
