Let's wrap this up in one word....Slumlords.........If I had this to do all over again, I would never have moved in. I have been here for 3 years, and to be honest, it is just getting worse. Initially the management (Stephanie or Stacey, I can't remember her name as she would avoid all issues) was nonexistent. Calls would go unanswered and visits to the office resulted in doors being closed in our faces. There was a 6 month time or so that an Amy worked there and she was professional and would attempt to help us. Now there is a Rochelle and Jennifer, and they are incredibly rude and completely unprofessional. Someone stated that they are dismissive, and that is a great adjective. They do not want to handle issues and will give you an attitude (no matter how polite and professional you are) when you ask a question or submit a work order. With this lousy track record of management, I think Morgan Properties trains their staff to be rude, unprofessional, and ineffective.

The apartment itself isn't that nice and maintenance does nothing. My heat goes out every other week. Their solution is not to fix the heater, but to have us light the pilot light when it goes out. My clothes washer does not work, my first work order was submitted in December of 2008. Yes, I have seen a few roaches, but not so much since my filthy neighbors moved out. There was decent sized dead rat outside the apartment, it took them 3 days to come pick it up, I do not want to think about where the rat came from. They stated that the drawer in my kitchen cannot be fixed. Squirrels live rampant in the walls, scratching nonstop in the walls, the management doesn't care. Snow removal was a joke. I shoveled the steps and sidewalk before they did.

Now there is theft on the rise; cars and apartments. Aparently the doors here are easily kicked in as there were 6 apts robbed this summer. We just received another notice this week of another attempted burglary. Car thefts via broken windows is also commonplace here.

Stay away, far far away............

A letter I just wrote. Also crime here is high, cars get broken into all the time, and they once sent out a letter to all tenants asking us to help the police in any and all matters. The apartments are very nice, unfortunately that's about all I can say for it. Domestic violence is a big problem. You can usually hear couples fighting if you take your dog for a walk through the complex.
The front office staff at The Landings is awful, dismissive, and extremely unhelpful. In one case they attempted to tack on $400 to my rent as a fee to sue myself for a $90 late charge. If that's your policy it goes against a number of regulations.
When I went to the front office a woman named Rochelle was extremely inattentive, carrying on with her paperwork why I was talking to her. She acted as though I was inconveniencing her by making her do her job.
Over the past few months I've been lobbying for a recycling bin to be made available to the tenants of the 500 and 600 building. I've been completely unsuccessful thus far in my attempts. It is my hope that by writing you I may see better results.
I am very conscious about me and my generations effect on the planet. We have succeeded in utterly destroying ecosystems of the ocean. By recycling, waste that would otherwise be dumped in the ocean is reused. But that is impossible without facilities available in which to discard your recyclable goods.
I have spoken with three different employees at the front office on all on different occasions and a maintenance man on more than one. I've gotten mixed responses but never anything more than the noncommittal, "we'll try." I've been told by the maintenance man that building 300 had an extra recycling bin, and that I should pull it over. I did that and within a few days it was gone.
I pay $865 a month to live here. To request the availability of recycling bin is not that much to ask.
Regards,

I resided at The Landings for 3 years, and while my family was fortunate enough to move into a completely remodeled apartment and I didn't have to worry much about repairs, the management office was unprofessional, had terrible bookkeeping, and if you ever put in a work order you could expect to have to resubmit, and wait for weeks on end. This afterall is the complex that owed so much money to the water department that they had to cut the water off to the whole complex and leave the residence without water. Avoid this place, your not missing a thing.
