K-9 Resorts is a great facility for dogs! My dog Charlie has always had a great experience there and I think the service provided by the staff is "above & beyond". I would recommend.

I have never brought my pup to this place, but they turned me off when I called. My original call was to verify what shots my pup needed to be allowed in their facility, in addition to getting an idea of how they ran the kennel. I have a human and dog friendly 8month old APBT pup and when I asked how doggy day care works, the girl told me the dogs play together all day and are not caged. I reconfirmed 2 times with her and she assured me that that dogs do not get put in cages. I call back a week later just get get solid confirmation from another person who worked their and GOOD THING I DID! The other person i spoke to said that any dog of pit breed are NOT socialized with dogs - not even with other pits; they are in their own seperate confines all day. So when I asked if confined dogs get play time at all, i was told I could opt for personal human/dog play. Excuse me, but i'm not paying to have my dog stay in a room with no animal socialization, and then have to PAY for someone to play with her for 15 minutes. Also, they charge a handling fee if you bring your own dog food. Ummmmm, if my dog is not eating your food, wouldn't that mean your business is saving costs? If so, why are you charging a handling fee when my dog is eating food we'd bring from home?

On top of this, evaluation will cost you around $35. This is so they can see how your dog socializes with other dogs, how he/she is with other people, etc. When i asked how long the doggy "evaluation" lasts I was told about 15minutes. This is just a rip off. How can they do a proper evaluation in a matter of 15minutes and why even charge? It should be a free consultation, because if a dog passed your test, you could make up for the consultation with all of your fees. Absurd; there is just too much red flags with this place. I forgot to mention, if you board your dog there 2 days or more, they enforce a mandatory dog bath before you bring your dog home to "ensure that each guest comes home fresh and clean".....which will cost you $29. I would think this was be upon the discretion of the owner, not the establishment. Money hungry much? I think so.

We actually found a place that takes pits AND socializes them with dogs of the same temperment and size. Perfect! Hint: it's located in Roselle, NJ !!

So this summer my dog stayed at K9 for two visits. One week each time. The day after picking her up each time she ended up at the vet due to illness. First a terrible sneezing cold, and now kennel cough. She is coughing and hacking and throwing up. I am very disappointed. This should not be the result of a stay at the "resort". I feel betrayed and upset for my pet. She is miserable and quite sick. I called to tell them about these two poor experiences in a row and complained about not only vet costs but pain and suffering for my dog and no one has called me back. I feel like there is not enough attention paid to the individual dogs and way too many dogs in the day care room at once.

K-9 Resorts is a gorgeous pet hotel. Nothing else in the area even comes close. You have to go and tour it to see what I??m talking about. You wont believe a place this nice exists for dogs but it does!!!

It is a great pleasure to write a review for K-9 Resorts!! I am a very particular pet owner with a spoiled dog. I would only send my dog to K-9 Resorts when I travel. The activities and personal attention are second to none. Thanks for everything K-9 Resorts!

I definitely recommend this kennel. K9 Resorts is very clean & run just like a 5-Star hotel. Cage Free rooms are very large and really comfortable for the dogs. 2 thumbs up!

I have been using K-9 Resorts regularly for the past three years and couldn??t be happier ?? and my very pampered dog would say the same! I am VERY picky about who cares for my dog and when I have to be out of town, be it for business or pleasure, K9 Resorts is the only pet care option I??d choose. K9 Resorts has given me tremendous peace of mind and I would give them the highest of recommendations!

Resort?????? NO! This place is just another kennel calling itself a hotel for dogs. They try and make you beleive it is different by over charging you for a room with a TV and a bed but it is just like many kennels. I think next time we will stick to a pet sitter so our dogs can stay at home where they are safe and can't get sick or hurt from other dogs.

Our dog was hurt twice at K9 Resorts. The first time, he had to be put under general anesthesia to have 21 stitches (one set in his muscle and the other in his skin). We noticed when we brought him home there were drops of blood falling on the floor. When we questioned the staff, they didn't know what happened, but after asking other employees, they came to the conclusion that he must have tried jumping a fence (?????). Note: His injury was not brought to our attention.

On another occasion we brought him home from a four night stay. Lo and behold, we noticed he is missing half of a canine tooth! We had noticed yesterday that he was eating funny, very deliberate about his chewing...even when he yawned it seemed as though he was in pain. The nerves in his tooth are exposed!! When we received the bill, we noticed that we were charged almost $400 for his stay which included a bath. We didn't ask for a bath and again his injury was not brought to our attention.

Understanding that dogs are dogs, one can only imagine that when a group of them are together, they play roughly. We can also assume that some dogs may get aggressive with each other. I have 3 significant concerns: 1. Who is watching the dogs while they play? 2. Why weren't these injuries brought to our attention? 3. How did he get hurt...did another dog hurt him, did he hurt himself, did some"one" hurt him?

Again, I cannot stress the fact enough that I understand that dogs are rough on each other...but 21 stitches and a broken tooth should have been noticed and brought to our attention.

My point here is not to bad-mouth K9 Resorts...the employees are very nice people. They covered the vet bill for his stitches, but we had to absorb the majority of the $2000+ bill for his tooth. However, I'm putting it out there for other dog owners to get to know the facilities before choosing such a service. Dogs enrich our lives and become parts of our families, and I'm sure there are other owners out there that only want the best for their dogs.

The staff is very professional and the most caring I have seen anywhere! They were highly recommended to me by my Veterinarian. It turns out, many of my Veterinarians?? technicians take their own dogs to K-9 Resorts. My only issue is that K-9 Resorts is so good everyone takes their dog there. They are very popular, so if you want the best, book them early because they get booked VERY far in advance.

So you're going on vacation and don't want to leave you dog at your local vet. If you want your dog to experience a level of luxury that you could never afford for yourself, try K-9 Resorts. This establishment is brand new, but already several of my friends and family members have used it. This place is a luxury hotel for dogs. I had the total tour when I dropped off my sister's dog, and I want to stay there. The luxury suites have color TV's (digital) Simmons dog beds, and outdoor views. Or go for the Presidential Suite (still being painted when I saw it) which will have 42-inch plasma TVs, Gucci beds, Evian spring water, and a personal concierge! All come with room service. There are gyms for group play, or outdoor courtyards, both filled with toys, and daily walks. Day care packages are also available. Go see this for yourself, because you'll never believe me when I tell you about the movies on demand!

Price? Suites run $34-$75 a night, and daycare $25 per day. Loads of extras can be purchased at an additional fee.

PROS:
CONS: No pool! Yet.

This is one of the best dog hotels i have ever taken my pets to.The facilities are very clean, it does not even smell like there are animals there. Each pet gets there own suite, which is very large. There are no cages, and they even have tv. Simmons dog beds, and outdoor window views. Very friednly and caring staff. They really do love animals. They are usually always booked so I would recommend that you make your reservation well in advance.
