I brought my 1988 cougar to this place because the transmission was not shifting smoothly and there was a minor leak. (Very minor, only needed to add fluid perhaps once every month). So, they look at my car and proceed to tell me the entire transmission needs to be replaced. I questioned that, reminding them that I had mentioned the small leak and that once fluid was added the car ran just fine. They wouldn't budge on their analysis that I needed a whole new transmission for $1500. I told them I was coming to pick up the car and take it somewhere else for a 2nd opinion. This is when they decided to tell me that I owed them $300 for looking at the car. I questioned that too, because they advertised free quotes. Well, what they don't tell you is that the free quote doesn't include taking the transmission out and looking at it and putting it back in. I called the corporate office to complain and got some girl on the phone who was pretty clueless. She called the place and they still wouldn't budge...I asked whatever happened to customer service, because I certainly wasn't getting any and she piped in "I'm still here". Geez, what an idiot.

Anyway, I paid the $300 and took my car to another transmission place and they did a transmission service for $175 and I was on my way. Two years later and the car is still going, with the same transmission.

PROS: None
CONS: Poor service
