We went there for the first time recently, and yes, the atmosphere is very quaint. It's a neighborhood favorite. The Thin crust pizza is delicious, but I can't see all the euphoria - it was cheese, sauce and toppings. You cannot order any takeout pizza, unless you have eaten in - then you can order pies to go, and they'll be ready after the meal. I have no complaints about thin crust - I hate all the bread anyway - I had three slices and did not feel all bloated up, but really I just can't see the raves about it. This reminds me of the over rating of White Manna over it's burgers. I do it too, over the spots that I grew up going to with my family, so I understand that.

Perhaps as a way to hold on to the nostalgia of it's history, the decor seems be the original, or at least decades old. The staff looks like they have invested years in the place - that's cool, I bet some are family to the original owners. But I have to be honest - I was "underwhelmed" overall. Maybe if it wasn't built up as so fantastic by my fellow diners, who had been there several times. If you have a good conversation going at your table, ( and not in the back) maybe you won't notice the harsh ringing of a bell every minute or two, if not sooner, perhaps as a signal to pick up to the waitresses. Either that or the UPS man is at the back door and man is he pissed!

We ordered salads as sides and got bowls of iceberg lettuce - period. I really see no reason to run back here any time soon. It was just "okay".
Update: We found ourselves back there a couple months later. the pizza is still pretty good, but i recommend against the sliced steak sandwich - I can't even properly describe how dry and bland it was. Again, this is an institution among the locals, and the local haunts are disappearing everyday. Feel free to give them a try.

I have been going to the Lido with my parents since I was little and to this day it remains one of my favorite places to go out to dinner. The food is excellent and so is the family-style atmosphere. My favorite dish and one that I will most definitely recommend is the thin crust pizza. Sometimes the wait is a little long for the pizza, but that's only because it is THAT good!

Lido has really great food and quick reliable service. Prices are very reasonable and the best chicken parm for a many miles. Great family place to go.

I was told by a co-worker that I should get the ?famous? steak sandwich, and I overheard someone at the DMV saying that Lido?s pizza was great. So, this was enough to make me want to go. My husband saw on the internet that Lido?s was a small place and usually a long wait. Our wait time was very short so we were excited. We decided to get a pizza and steak sandwich. We thought the pizza was very salty and the steak sandwich didn?t have any flavor ? I had to add salt and pepper at least. We didn?t get anything else on the menu so other items might be better. Therefore, we were left feeling disappointed and unsatisfied. Service was good, but I don't think I would go again.
