I finally stopped in here to see what all the talk was about. The place was crowded so I went out to my car to eat in. The hotdogs were delicious, next time I'll try the fries and the burgers. You can't beat made to order!

David, for someone who berates Hiram's, I notice you still eat there. Go somewhere else then. I think Hiram's is great. Their cheeseburgers are to die for. I wish I lived closer so I could go more often.

For one thing, I always liked their competitor Callahans better, (they were much cleaner) but since they knocked that place down and put up the 658th bank now open for business in Fort Lee, Hirams is all that exists. A hot dog is a hot dog, a burger is a burger- tastes all the same.

They paved their driveway in recent years, they fixed the front, but the few times I do have the urge for a dog, I still don't come away from the place with the fullest confidence that this is the cleanliest dining experience. If you don't believe me, go check it out yourself and u will see what I mean.

P.S. and $5.00 for a hot dog?

The indoor seating area is small and tight with only six tables and a few counter seats but they have put a new outdoor area out with picnic tables which has many tables and an expanded parking area. The workers were very attentive and friendly. When leaving, they even stopped to ask if everything was OK and to have a great night! I will definitely be going back with my kids when the weather gets nicer!

The food here is fresh and so fabulous. They grill the food as you order and you can even see them; the grill is right behind the counter where you order the food.

I always get the double cheeseburger and fries. The staff and people who grill are super friendly. You can eat and then pay or pay and then eat. It's a very relaxed and laid back venue.

The atmosphere makes you feel like you are back in the day. It's not fancy or special; there are little tables to eat at and a juke box in the corner.

Hiram's is one of my favorites. The food is delicious (albeit a little greasy, but hey, welcome to America) and the menu is simple. Their chili burger is amazing and their hot dogs are great too. Everything on their menu tastes great and a cold beer to wash it down is great (I'm not 21 yet, but I'd imagine it would be incredible).

One bad thing is that the food is not that cheap for the type of food you get, but you will leave satisfied and will come back again! I highly recommend it to everyone.

I rarely take the time to write reviews, especially when I didn't like the food, but after tasting a Hiram's dog I felt compelled to warn the public.
I just moved to New Jersey from Chicago and I was so excited to find that there was a Hot Dog joint around the corner from my apartment called Hiram's. I stopped by the other day to try out the menu only to find that their hot dogs were absolutely terrible. It tasted like a warmed up piece of old ham.
Please don't peg me for one of those biased Chicago-Style-hot-dog people. I like a Nathan's dog or Hebrew National just as much as the next hot dog fanatic. This Hiram's dog however, didn't measure up in the least. I also ordered a cheese dog too and the cheese just looked like a melted Kraft Single. The cheeseburger I tried was far too small for the price and came with only onions and pickles (Tomato and Lettuce not an option). The french fries and onion rings were really good, and the Birch Beer (if you're into that) was on tap and delicious.

When you think of hot dogs and fries imagine pefection- why imagine- go to Hirams! I have been eating at Hirams for over 25 years and they have not changed one bit. Well, when you have perfection, why change? The huge dogs, served in perfect buns come out hot and ready to be dressed with spicy mustard and saurkraut from the warmer. I usually order the 21 - 2 dogs and 1 fries. The fries are not an after thought; they are a centerpiece also. Perfect fresh cut potatoes fried perfectly. Each fry tastes like a fresh succlent potato that has been crisped perfectly. This is THE hot dog and FRY place that I say is you haven't eaten at; then you better get there so you can see what fanstact fries and huge hot dogs with crisp casings that surroung a delicatble dog that say perfection with each bite. Go for it-

Pros: Fast service, plenty of parking, friendly staff

.

Very quick and friendly service. Good burgers, Good dogs. Not a large seating capacity. Your best bet is to get your food to go, but worth a quick pit stop.

Callahan's or Hiram's? Which has the better hot dog? Honestly, I'm not sure if there's a huge difference! But, they are located so close to each other in Fort Lee, that I would choose the location that has the smallest line. They both have great hot dogs and both have been around forever!! Can't go wrong with either one!

A landmark in Fort Lee, this roadstand type eatery is known to have the best french fries in the world. Hot dogs and hamburgers and fries. Across the street sits Hirams, the competition...if the line is too long at Hirams;s eat at Callahans. If Callahans' line is too long, eat at Hirams. They are both great fast food. Same style.

Pros: Rippers, anyway you like em

Cons: No Palisdaes Amusement Park. Play all day and after dark

I grew up eating Hirams and trust me there is nothing better than their hot dogs and fries. I normally go there once a week and always get two dogs and a chili cheese fry. The hot dogs are the best hot dogs I have ever eaten and trust me I ate at a lot of hot dog places in my lifetime. The burgers are decent but do not live up to how awesome the hot dogs and chili cheese fries are. If you haven't been to Hirams for a hot dog you are missing out on some of the best fast food ever!!!!

Just plain and simple: hot dogs (any way you like 'em), burgers, beer & sodas. What more can you ask for? We were surprised to find this on Fort Lee, a haven of Korean BBQ restaurants and sushi joints, but this place has a long history. Good hot dogs and burgers, but the best is the chili cheese fries!

Best hot dogs in the tri-state area. Guaranteed! I've tried them all. Go in there and order a dog, cb, and fry well-done, using that exact language, and you'll be a happy man. This place is beyond classic--the phone number listed is a pay phone (the only phone they have) and the conversation is dominated by Soprano's-esque local softball league talk. Everything's greasy in there in a great way! Tell them Mike Contento sent you.
