Flemington Department Store

My customer ordered a Kahrs floor. The flooring department never placed the order but charged the credit card. The flooring department left my customer confused since they said the product name now changed and the flooring is slightly different, but it's the same floor she ordered. The customer asked me to confirm the new order. In trying to straighten out the mess on behalf of my customer, I was transferred to the owner Ted Resnick (sp?). I can honestly say that in 30 years of being in business, I never met a person with a WORSE business customer service attitude.

As he put it to me on the phone...The last thing I need is a p**sed off customer to deal with. things happen. The order fell through the cracks. It happens. If she doesn't like it, I'll just refund her deposit. I'm sick and tired of the whole world stopping when things get messed up. You tell her to let me know what she wants to do. Either she wants the floor or a refund. It doesn't matter to me. Just let me know.

I've referred people to this store in the past. I will never again refer a customer to this place. Its a shame too because they do have nice products. Guess it's a gamble though if you have a problem down the road if this is the attitude you get.

I have purchased furniture, drapes, rugs, clothing, a microwave and many other various things at this store - which I like - over the years. Especially the furniture department, which has a large staff and shelves of catalogues so you can choose exactly what you are looking for and get help. Prices are much better than other furniture stores with the "stuffy" attitudes, and the sales people are really there to help. FDS is like a Sears, but with less of a corporate feel and a much more helpful staff. I recommend it - they will have what you're looking for, whatever it is.

This place does have it all..from clothes, to furnature to kitchen supplies and carpets..but they are a bit expensive. The sales staff isnt very helpful often times and some of their items are pricey but thats about it as far as questionable things are concerned. Its definatly a place to check out though as its quite unique. The location is good too also on rte 31.

This place has some good deals on things, but can also be painfully expensive for others. The staff isnt very friendly or helpful which bothers me but all the same you can find good deals at this place once in awhile. They never really have sales very often so thats another downside. There is a seperate furnature section in this place too which is good if you have the money for it i suppose. It does have a good location and a wide selection so its not all that bad.

Its an all - around decent place to shop although some items can be a bit pricey a lot of them arent...especially the t shirts. This store is roomy, clean and staff doesnt pester you constantly like some department stores. They also sell all kinds of furniture. Parking is excellent.

PROS: Prices, friendly staff, wide selection
CONS: none
