Pros: still a good buy.

Cons: a bit tired

.

The dirty table clothes, shabby decor and foam appetizer plates might be considered charming by some, but it's definitely not for me.

In a windowless neon lit empty dining room, 10 waitresses ignore you as you enter. Since they all seem to be from a former "cell", you should wait until you're spoken to for fear of being "cut" and left to ... on their dirty floor. Is it a prison or a restaurant? I'm still not certain.

How's the food you ask? Does it really matter? The smell of urine and dirt is enough to turn a dog off to steak.

I'll be calling in the morning. Let's hope they haven't been bribed by the crooks that run this "joint". This place needs to be shut down.

Pros: Exit door isn't locked

Cons: You might become a vegetarian

My dad used to live in Hoboken and loved that place, when he met my mom they moved down to Pittsburgh and a few months ago my dad took me there. It was the best steak I have ever had and I still can not stop telling people about the cost of the steak. That steak was so good that I ate the fat and the charred parts that would normally not touch! And, the pickles they give you as an appetizer are just amazing.

Haven't been there in a couple of years, cause we moved upstate, but we've been hungering for a good steak and we are definitely taking the long ride to enjoy a fabulous meal.

I used to go here to eat alot when my friend was a waitress here, it was great. Their steaks are excellent and so is the rest of their food. It's usually very scarce parking so keep that in mind if you have a reservation.

We just love Arthur's. It is definitely worth fighting the traffic and then hunting for a parking spot. The steaks are awesome. They always have specials. Their chili is homemade and excellent too! Best steaks we ever had!!

have not been disappointed by the food as yet. I like the thinly cut steaks, the chicken dishes are good, the fish can vary on flavor. The mashed potatoes are good, chili is good, drinks are okay. I went to the catered dining area, apart from the main dining area. Seems the main dining area is back to back seating-wise, can be very loud. The waiters are friendly and young and willing to please the customer. Prices are a bit higher than normal for steaks and chicken, but well worth it.

Pros: food, service

Cons: price; street parking/they do validate for lot parking/

Let's face it, you go (or I should say, I used to go) to Arthur's for an inexpensive but acceptable steak and a good cheap beer, right? I have been visiting Arthurs for many years and have been moderately pleased (with some few exceptions) with both. But last night, -I gave up. 20 bucks for a piece of gristly, unchewable shoeleather called "our Steak" and a $7+ liter of beer is where I draw the line. It's was one thing when the steak cost 14 or 15 bucks with a $5 beer, but now it just isn't worth it. Either grab yourself an angus berger at Bruger King or save your $$ for a trip to a real steakhouse like Rothmann's or Old Homestead. You'll thank me. Or - go to Arthur's for old time's sake, 'cause this joint won't be around much longer serving this meat.

Pros: cheap (formerly), convenient to train

Cons: expensive, "Our Steak", service

Arthurs is the greatest steakhouse in Hoboken, no doubt in my mind. The burgers and steaks are amazing. Try the potatoes and the onion soup. Have a beer and enjoy a steak there's nothing quite like Arthurs

If you like your steak au povre or tartar or any of the other frufru ways to eat meat, don't go to Arthurs. But if you want a good slab of steak cooked just the way you ask in a comfortable atmosphere with no pretense and served with a giant litre of your favorite draft, take a trip to the nicest part of Hoboken and visit Arthurs on Washington Street. You can order two kinds of steak at Arthurs: 24 oz. or 48 oz. They also do a great lobster and their rack of pork ribs is simply succulent. Don't expect much in the way of fancy sides. If you haven't figured it out yet, Arthurs is a meat-and-potatoes joint with limited variations. But if you go make sure you try the onion soup and try to save room for some killer pumpkin cheesecake for dessert.

Pros: inexpensive, large portions, great food

Cons: , "rustic" restroom

This place is good but it is not as great as everyone raves. The service is terrible and the food is just ok. The prices are good though.

Look'g for a place close to home¬ wanting to venture into N.Y. for a steak that costs 3x's as much. We decided on Arthurs, part of the Mile Square town a.k.a. Hoboken. Since it was the Thanksgiving weekend there was no wait. Service was good. Mixed drinks were Casino Quality & we weren't sure if the sides on our tables were left from the previous diners, but when our steaks (Only one choice on the menu) arrived...it was truly meat and potatoes. The steak was seasoned well, nice&soft and the food was hot. We've paid at the more expensive steak houses&have not been satisfied. We even caught a movie around the corner afterwards. Would recommend in a heartbeat. Just don't get dressed up (unless you want to be part of the collage of patrons on the wall)&be prepared to put your napkin in your collar like the YOcals.

Pros: Close to home, Excellent prices, Good Down Home Steak

Cons: Watered down 7&7, Picnic style decor, Hunk of potatoes

Arthur's is a great place to eat if you are a real meat and potatoes guy. The French Onion soup is probably the best I have ever had, and the steak, while sometimes fatty, is very good. The beer is served in huge Stein glasses and the side of potatoes is really good. Definitely worth the price and a good place to meet up.

Pros: French onion soup, steins of beer, not expensive

Cons: one bathroom, tough to find parking

I have been to quite a few steakhouses and this is one of the best. I have eaten here about 20 times and I would have to say that I have always been extremly satisfied with the whole experiance. The 24 oz steak is $14.99 and I have had great cuts, seasoned perfectly, every time. Get a Big beer to wash it all down and a side of potatoes and garlic bread. I am very critical of resturants and Arthur's is no doubt a steaks lovers place to eat.

Pros: Great Tasting Steak, Low Price

.

The steak they make at arthurs is a good ol fashioned man steak. No prissy little decorations or any of that other nonsense. You get a big slab of meat and some very tasty potatos. The steak isnt the best, but its far from the worse. Much better than anything you´ll get at Outbacks, Houlihans, or any place like that. I highly recommend it.

If steak isnt your thing, i sugges the Cod or even the Lobster.

Huge slab of meat. Side of greasy potatoes, but tastey. Simple decor, and sketch service. Pretty bare bones but cheap.
