Through Teleflora I ordered the deluxe Faith Hill ??Colors of Christmas? centerpiece for my Mother??s table. This centerpiece is beautiful, should have contained about two dozen white and red roses, and is described on the website as: ??The festive red centerpiece includes red roses, white spray roses, red spray roses, variegated holly, white pine and noble fir. Approximately 15" W x 17" H. This item is hand-arranged and delivered by a Teleflora florist.?

Unfortunately for me Teleflora sent the order to Mr. Alan ??The Original Florist? located in Brick, N.J. When I visited my mother the day after delivery I saw that what was delivered was terrible, something that was very embarrassing to me and disappointing to my mother. On previous years the centerpieces that I sent to her were proudly displayed in the center of her dining room table, this was on a folding TV table in the side room.

The centerpiece contained the correct bowl and two red candles, but that??s where the similarity to what she was supposed to receive ends. Instead of two dozen red and white roses this had a half dozen red roses and a half dozen red carnations. For filler the florist used a few ribbons and what can only be described as pine tree branches, so many that you couldn??t see the few flowers that were there unless you looked at it from straight down. I took several photos to document it because, unless you see it, you can??t visualize how bad it is, one of which can be seen here: http://tinyurl.com/7r8vrem

Mr. Alan ignored my several attempts to contact him, until I attached a photo with one of my letters. I received an email reply asking that I call him because he ??did not have my telephone number,? although I had sent it to him several times and it was taken when the order was placed.

I called and spoke to Mr. Alan, who agreed that the centerpiece was ugly but said that it wasn??t his work, even though the card with his face on it was clearly visible in the photo, in the arrangement just as he had placed it. Mr. Alan said that he would ??make this right? took my telephone number because he had to ??investigate what happened? and said that he would call me back. That was the last I heard from him, he hasn??t called back and has ignored several emails requesting his investigation findings.

While all this was going on I had also been attempting to resolve this through Teleflora. I received a nice apology from ??Angela Wind, Resolution Specialist,? and a coupon for 30% off my next order. I wrote back and told her that I didn??t want a discount; I wanted my mother to receive the flowers that I had paid for. I then received another nice apology from ??Joey P.? who offered to send me a 20% refund. Again I replied that the only thing I wanted was for my mother to receive the flowers that I had paid for, but this time I attached a photo. I received another nice apology, and this time ??Angela W.? wrote that, at their request, before Christmas the florist would be picking up the old centerpiece and delivering the correct one.

That was acceptable to me, so I thanked Angela and told her that I would let her know when it was delivered. Christmas has come and gone, but the correct centerpiece was never delivered. Now that Christmas is over I no longer want the centerpiece, I don??t want anything from Teleflora except a refund, so that I can get my mother something else for Christmas.

There are 6 Words to describe my experience with Mr. Alan. Disappointed, disillusioned, dishearten, disenchanted, dissatisfied, and DISGUSTED. Mr. Alan is the rudest business owner I have ever experienced. I ordered over $500 of flowers for a funeral and he provided ??F? quality work and not what I ordered. I am embarrassed and upset especially during this trying time. I will never use him again and will NEVER recommend him to anyone.

A friend from VA sent me a beatiful arrangement for my birthday, they arrived at 6pm on Feb. 28. Roses, baby roses and hiacinth in beautiful vase. Also had a stuffed animal wrapped around the vase. I added water when they were received. The next morning the roses were all wilted and the hiacinth by that evening. I called Mr. Alan's on Tuesday morning and was told they would send another arrangement. They never came that day, nor did I receive a phone call. When I called back on Wed. asking about my delivery, I was told the truck broke down and they would be to my house that day, which they were. However, instead of the same arrangement, they send me some daisies mixed with mums haphazardly thrown together. While it was nice that they delivered a replacement, the replacement should have been what my friend ordered and paid for. Roses and daisies do not cost the same. She is also contacting teleflora from her end. I called Mr. Alan's today to complain and am now waiting for a call back. I do agree with the others who reviewed this florist, I spoke to Mr. Alan on Tuesday, and he was not very pleasant.

I have heard good things about this shop, however, I am quite disappointed and would not use them or recommend them.

I ordered a flower arrangement to be delivered the day after Valentine's day to my wifes job. She is off on Mondays so I figured it would be a nice surprise. I was waiting for the text of her thanking me for the flowers. The text never came. At a little after 7pm her cell phone rings and it is the flower shop. The guy on the phone asks my wife if she was expecting flowers to be delivered to her that day today. Come to find out, my wife saw that I had ordered flowers on our bank statement but didn't say anything. She told them to forget about it and just refund the money. He said well we left them at the shop and I don't know why it happened. Do you want them delivered tomorrow? She told them no, and she would have to take the refund up with the owner the next day. I called them right back and they had no idea why the expensive flowers were not delivered. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY

I decided to go with a local florist instead of ProFlowers.com. I pick out these lovely purple orchids called "Pacific Paradise" to send to my mother on Mother's Day from Mr. Alan's Original Florist in Brick, NJ. She received flowers, however, they were NOT orchids. Instead I paid for pink carnations and some lilies. Nice, but NOT what I ordered. I called, the owner said he'd call me back; never did. I called again, and he promises me that he would re-send them on the next business day. She never got them. I check his website, and mysteriously the Pacific Paradise bouquet is non-existent. And I agree with the other commenter...he is not a pleasant man.

I had a problem with a Mothers Day delivery I ordered online and waited around the whole day expecting them. I eventually called and found out they switched the order to the following Monday. Right after I hung up I decided to call back and cancel the order because I realized nobody was going to be home and they were very rude Mr Alan himself hung up on me. I was in Management for 7 years so I would know if I deserved it and I honestly did nothing for him to treat me like that.

I went to this Mr. Alan's when for prom in order to get a boutineere. They were fairly easy to work with and not too crowded on the day of prom. I believe I spent around $7.00.

Mr. Alan is a terrific florist. He has anything and everything you could ever want and need. He carries very exotic flowers and also does large orders for weddings. He himself, however, is not a very pleasant man.

So here are my 2 experiences with Mr. Alan's both happened the same day, Father's Day 2010.

First experience was the flowers my daughter sent me, A. They weren't suppose to come on Father's Day they were suppose to come on 6/19/10 and never came, The driver who delivered them told me they had just come out from the designer area before he left on 6/20/10 meaning they were just made.

Second Experience was a gift basket I sent my Father and guess what he didn't even get it till Monday! I was told no one was home which was a crock the man is elderly and does not leave his house, Fact is they probably forgot all about it and well let's just say I'm not very happy and to boot Mr Alan would not even refund my delivery charges of 22.00 total and hung up on me quite like the other reviewers on this site.

If you can avoid this place at all costs

Last week I ordered flowers with Mr. Alan for my mother's birthday.

Upon receipt the first thing I noticed that the balloons I ordered with these were not there, However the delivery driver was very helpful even called the office for me trying to help me out he was about the best experience with Mr Alans that I can honestly say I had.

Later on I noticed some of the stems were broken and when I called the florist I spoke to Mr Alan directly who like others state is not pleasant by far, He refused to refund me, Would not agree to send out new flowers and ultimately hung up on me.

I'm retired now but I ran my own business for 30 years and never once have I treated a customer is such a way, Amazed he's still in business!
