After bringing my daughter up to Willaim Paterson U, the wife and I stopped at Luce's while driving around the area. This is a very good restaurant and serves very good portions of pasta. The mood and quality of the food bring a New York flavor. NY is close enough so ther is the influence.

Luce is a bit on the expensive side but an overall very nice dining experience. I have been there three times and their wait staff has always been friendly and competent. You must make reservations if you want to eat there on a Friday or Saturday night and you must valet your car. We waited 30 minutes one night for a table even though we were 5 minutes late for our reservation. If you go on an average weeknight there probably won?t be any wait at all, even without a reservation. The food is always delicious, especially the filet mignon. They give you fairly generous portions usually with some excellent mashed potatoes and vegetables. I would recommend this restaurant, as long as you can afford to pay a little more and don?t mind being around other patrons who are rude or snobby (there always seem to be a few that are noticeable, no matter when we go).
