My kitty doesn't love going to the doctor, but who does! The bottom line is we would not have our beautiful Oreo, if not for Dr.Akbawy. He took care of him during several crisis situations and also sought out the best solution for him to be able to live a long and healthy life. He had an involved surgery and now is a happy guy, no more urinary blockages.

We look forward to many more years of excellent care for our cats.

This was a horrible experience. We brought our cat in and she was diagnosed with cat diabetes and then over prescribed insulin; the doctor did not want to have anything to do with teaching us how to administer it or monitor her condition. We were told to give the cat 2 units of insulin by the pharmacy (they called in the prescription) and were not allowed to keep her at the vet for monitoring her first doses, and were not told to monitor or taught how to monitor her blood sugar. He just billed us and sent us on our way. Pretty amazing that this guy is still in business. We even had to call to receive this diagnoses - they didnt think to call us immediately when her urinalysis came back toxic.

There is one doctor here and it's very difficult to get any good information from anyone else, so don't expect any quick answers on anything. The staff does not want to deal with you, it sounds like they are tired of passing along information to the single doctor here, and most of the time, they either didnt relay the questions or notes, or if they did, the doctor didnt call back.

I am very surprised that there were any positive reviews on this site this place - there was not one positive thing I can say about the doctor and this staff, and I am a very positive person. For the health of your animal you should look elsewhere, and get neighbor recommendations on vets in the area.

It??s my pleasure to recommend the Lincoln Avenue Cat Hospital in Fair Lawn. I have taken my cats there since Dr. Akbawy took over the practice from Dr. Ballard many years ago. I??ve found Dr. Akbawy to be a consummate, well-trained professional veterinarian but also a kind and caring human being. He guided me through some very difficult times when my cat became diabetic and always offered several avenues of treatment for my consideration. We had many discussions about treatment options, and I was even encouraged to seek a second opinion. After six long years of treatment, my cat became increasingly unstable due to the complications of hypoglycemia. When the time came and I had to make that dreaded decision to let my precious buddy go, Dr. Akbawy counseled that only I would know when the time was right and encouraged me to follow my heart. I think the only reason my cat made it to 17, the last six as a diabetic/hypoglycemic, was due to his medical care. I couldn??t ask for a more caring, considerate, and yet professional veterinarian. My family??s feelings and the comfort of my cat were the primary concerns at all times. Taylor, Lucy, Tom, and Amina have been with Dr. Akbawy for many years and have always been professional, caring, and kind. I still have two cats under Dr. Akbawy??s care and I have always felt that they were in good hands with him and his staff. The facility and staff are top-notch.

I am more than happy to write this review! I started going to the Lincoln Avenue Cat Hospital because they were referred to me about 5 years ago. I have 4 cats that I bring there regularly and I have been very satistied with the service and care we have been given. I feel that they really care about our pets. I always ask other people in the waiting room about their experiences, how long they have been coming etc. and I have never gotten a negative answer. I appreciate the patience the staff has when explaining to me how to administer medications etc. When I call the girls are nothing but very pleasant and accomidating. Like most cat moms I adore my pets and want them to be in good hands. I am confident in the doctor at Lincoln Avenue Cat Hospital.
I would very much like if payments could be made when services are expensive, however, that is not available at many establishments.

I have read numerous reviews about the Lincoln Avenue Cat Hospital which prompted me to share my personal experience with Dr. Akbawy and his staff. A close friend highly recommended this veterinary hospital when I moved from northern Passaic County to Fair Lawn several years. Dr. Akbawy is a highly skilled veterinarian, extremely knowledgeable, an excellent surgeon and a compassionate Doctor. I have many stories relative to all my positive experiences with this facility, but I will relate my most recent in February of 2010. The results of a total lab function warranted the administering of fluids and antibiotics to my 12-year cat Clyde. Clyde is a big boy and is not very cooperative when it comes to medical treatment. For 10 consecutive days, I brought Clyde to Lincoln Avenue Cat Hospital. Tom endured 2 snowstorms to meet me there, even though they were closed, and Linda took care of Clyde on both Sundays. This is going above and beyond, and because of everyone??s devotion and dedication, Clyde??s blood levels are back to normal. Over the years, Dr. Akbawy has been there for all my precious furry children and his entire staff is absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend and endorse the Lincoln Avenue Cat Hospital. I would also like to add that I was elated when Dr. Akbawy opened the Animal Hospital of Fairfield where I can bring my dogs. It??s a state-of-the-art facility. Dr. Akbawy??s personal attention to every detail, phone calls and explanations are exceptional. I am sorry and can sympathize with anyone who goes through the heartache of losing their loving pet. I have been there many, many times since I have a tendency to rescue older cats and dogs and to me, it??s the most heart wrenching time of my life when I have to say goodbye or I did not have the chance to say goodbye. In ending, all I can see is that I have faith in Dr. Akbawy??s ability to provide the best medical care and offer the best advice when it comes to the well care of all our precious, loving pets.

When we moved I needed a vet near by I opened the phone book and found Lincoln Ave Cat Hospital in my town. I didn't know anyone yet in the neighborhood so I just took the chance that they were good.
I am SO HAPPY that I did. The staff and doctor are great! They will answer any questions you have and will take the time to make sure you understand everything. I am never rushed out of the office or off the phone.

I am going to do my best to stick to only facts in this review although it will be very difficult due to my high emotions.

If you are on the net, looking for a vet for your cat you obviously care for the animal. This review is for you people especially!!!
If you truly do care for your animal do not bring them here!!

We left our Best,Best friend "Mooch" with Lincoln Ave. Cat Hospital for a 6 day stay while we went on a vacation.
Normally, we would have friends stay with and feed him, but recently Mooch had not been feeling well.
We had taken him to L.A.C.H for treatment & the place seemed nice. This was most importantly due to the 2 assistants that were helping us. (Tom & Steve)
They were so great to my pal Mooch. They gave him so much love, and they were so gentile with him.
That 1st visit was great.
....Anyway, we had a vacation coming up, and we wanted Mooch to stay there while we were away, because we felt that the guys (Tom & Steve) were so attentive, AND because Mooch hadn't been feeling well.
Since it was a Cat Hospital it should be the perfect place, Right?WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As it Turns out, the Dr. is the ONLY DR. THERE!!!!!!!!!! There is NO OTHER BACK-UP.
If he, for whatever reason Can't or Won't get to the Place, there is no other back-up Dr. to treat your animal.
On the last day before we got home Mooch had gotten real sick.
The Dr. was "out-of-the-country" (Which I was not told)
The office staff in they're Brilliance decided not to bring him to anyother vet for treatment. They just called my cell phone which was turned off because I was on the plane & left a message saying that "Mooch needs to go to the Emergency Room."
If they had 1 shred of brain matter, they would have looked at the boarding form that I had to sign when I dropped Mooch off.
It had a emergency contact phone number on it that would have put them in contact with someone otherthan my voicemail.
7 hours later, sitting in a plane on the tarmac at Newark Airport, I got the message.
I immediately called, and spoke to the office staff.
Actually, Spoke is a nice word for it, I "convinced" them to take Mooch to wherever he needed to go.
You See, even though I had already signed a form that stated My authorization for medical treatment, they wouldn't take Mooch to get help until they spoke to someone.
I reached Oradell Animal Hospital about 20 minutes after they got Mooch there. He was barley alive. He had held on long enough for us to get home. We were able to say Goodbye, Thank him for all he has been to us, and also were able to be there with him when he died.

My anger is because we trusted this place with our friends life, and you know the rest.

This is what to take away from my experience;
I trusted Lincoln Ave. Cat Hospital to take care of my buddy for me while I was away, THEY DID NOT.

And I MUST SAY AGAIN, I had signed all Papers that would have allowed medical treatment.

If anyone wants to know details or hear real rage about this place feel free to email me.

Wonderful, cat loving environment. Very Clean. Caring staff. We use this animal hospital for our rescued cats and kittens, from the youngest to the oldest. They even have a staff at night for the cats that stay overnight. Over 60 of our cats and kittens have been treated here. They have spay/neutered several cats, provided dental cleanings and surgeries, emergency and critical care, as well as routine vaccinations, a wide range of tests, diagnosed and treated general and sever illnesses. We are very pleased with the quality service, and grateful for their generosity to our organization.

I cannot put into words of how I feel about this hospital. I had my cat Buster there in April of 2004. He was diagnosed by Dr. Akbawy with having two lumps in the lower intestine. I was advised that Buster needed an operation in order to remove the lumps. I had no doubt in my mind that Buster would successfully make it through the surgery. Here is it December of 2006 and Buster is now 16 years old and he acts like a young cat all over again. Dr. Akbawy saved my cat's life and I will forever be greatful to him. I recommend him to everyone. I mean seriously, who would not want the best service for their cat. Buster is part of my family and he is also part of the Lincoln Avenue Cat Hospital family. If the cat hospital is reading this...thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. I know Buster appreciates the great service that you guys have given to him. Thank you again.
