I have just shopped here for the first time today and I will say that I am impressed. The staff was greatly helpful and the product was right on the money. I have shopped at a number of locations in Jersey and around the country and have gotten the "comic book guy" treatment from most. These guys are good. Parking is small but enough and they had everything I was looking for. I was and am impressed.

I love this store and I have shopped in stores all over NJ. They have reasonable prices, good selection of comics and action figures. It's very refreshing to find a store that doesn't gouge on prices these days.
Very friendly service.

I have been a customer for over 8 years now and I keep coming back for the great service. I can go anywhere to buy a new or back issue comic but I continue here for other reasons...the staff. You can spend as long as you want in the store just "hanging" with the owner just talking etc. which I find very refreshing. He never rushes me or gives me the "I'm done with you" feeling. They actuall greet you with a "hello" when you come in which is a unique idea these days. Also, it's very clean and organized which is unlike most other comic shops that I've been to.

I have a subscription with them and they never miss an issue no matter how hot it is or how long it takes for me to come in. They have a big range of comic books that include new and back issues, both Golden and Silver Age comics, graphic novels, and trade paperbacks. They also have posters, trading cards, toys, and so much more.

You have to check them out whenever you get the chance because the service is great.

I'd also like to respond to the guy who wrote about the decline of the store. He knocks the parking which he admits has 8 spots. How many would you like? I have never had a problem parking there in all of the years I've been going. He also seems upset that he can't get his Star Wars CCG cards. They don't even make them anymore so I don't why you would slam them for that.

PROS: Friendly Staff/Service/Selection
CONS: None

Main Street Hobbies is a truly amazing store. First off, the owner, Mike, is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. He'll do and find anything for a customer. He doesn't require you to sign your life away when you join the reserve list, which is unlike most stores who have two pages of rules and hidden charges. The design is refreshing and the use of color is fun. Also, the signs and set up are clean and innovative. The store has a huge selection of trade paperbacks, back issues, new issues, and toys. And, again, if for some reason he doesn't have it, he'll get it. One of the best parts of the store is that the people who frequent it feel that they are a part of a family. Customers have been asked what their favorite trade paperbacks are , and their names and favorites are posted around the store, which is not only origional, but drives the feeling of family home. I strongly recomend this store to everyone.

I used to come here for comics because they always had the originals and they were all new. Sadly, they also have became part of the rest of world that all about new comical adventurous that just are not that good as they used to be. I still recommend this store to hobbyists.

This store used to be the place all of my friends and I would go to get the latest comics and collectable card games. Too much emphasis on new fads and lacking in Star Wars merchandise (especially the old Decipher Star Wars CCG). Terrible parking; street parking is available and there is also a pitiful 8 spot lot it shares with a Dance Studio (so it's near impossible to park when there is a recital). They have a lot of decorations in the windows that advertise their products (which is what initially attracted me inside). I would no longer reccomend this store to friends.
