Summer in this area would not be the same without the Quarry Swim Club. I have been going there for many years and it is the one fresh water place you can swim in this region. The grounds are beautiful and the owners are wonderful folks! The atmosphere is always peaceful, relaxing, and lovely. The late day pass or day pass is a good deal if you are not going every day and a regular membership is not needed.

First, our daughter LOVES this place. We go with friends and always have a wonderful, relaxing time. There is a sand volleyball court, lawns, picnic tables, grills, a nice pool, and the quarry itself. Floating around the quarry in inner tubes is great. We are always amazed that it isn't more crowded, though it is not inexpensive.

I have been swimming at the Quarry for almost 55 years. That was not a typo.
In the 1950s on it was open to all comers, until it got a reputation with some people as a place to party, and became unsuitable for children.
The owners chose to make it into a members only club. There is no drinking allowed and you can be ejected for general nastiness.
I am a regular member and visit almost every day. Mamas and toddlers inhabit to pool, summer camps bring in revenue during the week, the after work group comes in after four and plenty of seniors paddle quietly and chat.
Many children learn to swim there, as I did, and it is always fun to watch them try to pass the Quarry test.
The lifeguards and owners know all the children and their level of abilities and watch over them very carefully.
The snack bar is enticing to children and many use the permanent charcoal grills to set up a family party.
There are often European guests who are thrilled with the experience.
If you want to visit ask a regular member to bring you as a guest.....

I went there with a couple of friends today. We went from Princeton on our bikes; that was a 10-mile ride and we were exhausted. When we finally arrived, the staff at the door informed us that the only alternative we had was to buy a $108 season membership and pay for two day passes (I think $14 or more each). Apparently the season membership would allow one of us 8 entries in the rest of the season (3 weeks). We of course thought this was inconvenient, and asked for some alternative; none was available. We asked whether we could go in for two minutes to look at the place, with views towards getting a membership for next year, but were turned down as "This does not work. If you are going to get a membership next year, come back next year." I'm thinking I won't... I have to thank them for allowing us to have our lunches in the logs by the parking lot. The bike ride was fun too.

Quarry Swim club will go that extra mile to make sure your child not only learns how to swim but has fun doing it as well. I went there to sign my child up for swimming lessons to help him learn the fine art of swimming. The staff had very flexible hours and allowed me to stay and watch. It was one of the easiest and most well spent money that I would do it again in a second. Thanks Quarry Swim Club.
