This is the worse gym I??ve been to. Staff is terrible unprofessional, place looks dirty, equipments are old and there are not enough for the number of members that they have. The baby sitting room is horrible, not to talk about fact that you have to call prior to have your child in. Most of the days after 6PM there is not available time for the child care which means, if you have a child and you work during the day, you either have to live them home or not go to the gym at all. I??ve never been to other locations but if they look like this one I definitely DO NOT recommend Bally??s to anybody.

I was looking for a gym to join and decided to give ballys a try with their 7 day pass. The first day i went, they tried making me join right away before I even step foot on a machine and it made me feel uncomfortable. Given that it was only my FIRST time,I wanted to get familiar with the gym and the equipment then I'd make a choice on my own, I mean isn't that what a guest pass is for? I've joined a gym before and I understand that its their job to make you sign a contract but there was just too much pressure going on. After my workout the guy said to me "i already put you in the system because i know u want to join" they were too much and very UNPROFESSIONAL.
I decided to give it one more try and the second day I went, the same guy that had pressured me told me that they couldnt put me in the system (meaning my pass is no longer valid) because it supposedly was not my first time at their ballys and i had "joined" before. I was shocked because was not true. He had also said there was nothing they can do.
Overall their service/system/staff needs to be worked on. I do not recommend (at least that bally's) and I will complain to the manager.

I have been a member of Bally Total Fitness Gym for over two
years now, I can tell you I love Bally's the people are
friendly, and the Instructors are pleasant. The work out is fun, I
love Bally's and I enjoy going to the gym, I know sometimes
the pool is close, but again they are lookng out for our safety.
Thank God we have a clean gym we can go to and work out. I
would recommend Bally's to my friends, and co-workers any
time.

I joined Bally's in the beginning of summer. I am happy with the maintenance and staff. The pool is open every day and life guard is on duty. The staff couldn't be any more friendlier.

This is an updated review, which I promised if there was improvement. Last March I gave Bally's two stars - as a longterm member I noticed a serious six month decline in maintenance with machines out of service for weeks (sometimes months) at a time, chronic pool closings and serious issues in locker room hygiene. In addition the new Bally's TV *blared* the same ten videos and two ads at concert volume forcing many to bring ipods. Were it not for a mostly friendly staff, a good variety of machines for a workout, an indoor track, and some decent classes to boot, the review could've been more scathing. Well - some good news. Popular manager Geri has returned - and things have noticeably improved. Machines get repaired quickly, and it's been months since the pool was closed unexpectedly. Bally's TV volume is now at half the level and the video rotation has expanded exponentially. The only two nicks I'd point out is that locker room sanitation tends to vary - still on and off issues with clogged toilets - and that pricing can be all over the map - you have to be careful not letting your enthusiasm to get into shape translate into those long three year contracts. Bally's economic template is to sign as many as possible to longterm deals - human nature being what it is - only a small percentage actually follow through with their commitment to exercise, subsidized by everyone else who trail off getting to the club but continuing to pay dues because of that contract. All that said, I've given Bally's credit (along with better eating) for a major turnaround in my health over the last few years... so while I was very disappointed with last winter's downturn in maintenance, I'm glad to see them working to get back on track.

I just joined a few days ago and every single day the pool has been closed- I've been told "open tomorrow" and despite my phone calls, it's still closed with more "open tomorrow" promises.

I do not recommend this gym and I just became a member- mostly for the pool..which I can't use.

Bally's is right on Route 22, so you have no excuse to skip a workout! You have to pass by here on your way home from work anyway, so just stop in. The staff is competent, the machines are aplenty, the regulars are friendly. Bally's is worth the price. If you're not convinced, they will give you a tour and probably a free week. Try it out.

Editorial from

The Scene
Most Ballys stick to the basics for their design. Televisions broadcast silently above multiple rows of cardio machines; mirrored walls act as the primary decorative components. But thanks to high-energy television adsā€¦
