the worst dentist ever! STAY AWAY!!!

by Tammy V.

I went to this dentist due to the extreme pain i was in from my wisdom took being broken and an extremely bad cavity which needed a root canal! Mind you I am 7.5 months preggo and had a letter from ob to go. First thing is they were only allowed certain anaesthetic and pain killers as well as only 1 xray! I was told I needed my wisdom tooth pulled and a root canal in 2nd tooth. Ok so i go in for root canal was there 2 hrs and the dentist had to do the entire thing without anaesthetic and was extremely rude when i was tryin to ignore the pain by humming and clenchin my hands together. She told me to be quiet or she wont be able to concentrate i was very upset then she kept pullin my jaw open constantly sayin keep ur mouth open! I was like lady my pain is worse the labor, gun shoots, and more sympathy would be great. Then she took 6 xrays when warned to only do 1 which cause me and my unborn baby health issues. After all is done the office lady said i am gonna call u in Motrin i was like 3 times i told ur office and my ob wrote a letter i cant take Motrin i am preggo duhhhhh! She said ok Tylenol #3 will be called in. I get to my pharmacy and Motrin is called in and they only gave me 6 pills which is a 24 hr rx. Then i have a followup for the perm. tooth on a monday and they call me to cancel cause no ins approval yet. 1st thing is u know a root canal is gonna need a tooth so y not call and get approval at the same time. Mind you 3 days after monday hit my temp. filing fell out and the dentist cant see me til MONDAY of the next week which is 5 days from that incident! So I am not a happy camper my mother is extremely pissed(she is a dr.) and now i am gonna deal with medicaid, my ins, and contact a lawyer! SO BE AWARE DONT GO HERE!!!!EVER!!!!!!!

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE

by John S.

These people have to be shut down. I went to get a cracked molar and a crown fixed I ended up getting my gums raised and no crown and my molar is not fixed. My wife went for a cleaning and she ended up getting 1 osseous surgery of the recommended 4 at $1,000.00 a clip before stopping the insanity in the processes they never informed us that doing this surgery would expose her veneer and would have to replace it also ($2,000) if we knew this we would have gotten a 2nd opinion.STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!

BIG SCAM

by Berto t.

SCAM-SCAM-SCAM watch for that dentist. They will say insurance will cover every thing. After 4 or 5 treatment you will receive a bill for thousands. And they will send it to collection. I found they are using a scare tactic to make you pay. they are RIPOFF. Do not go their.

Definetly Not Smiling

by Kathi C.

What a horrible experience! I now know what it feels to be violated and scammed!!! They were very nice in the beginning stating that they would work closely with my insurance to make sure I don't incur unnecessary fees.. I was very adamant about that being a single Parent of three children one being autistic. My budget it tight and I have no room for unclear errors. The pain during teeth cleaning and examinations were unbearable, and then I was claimed to need a replacement of my loose crown that I wasn't aware of... Then this turned into minor surgery of extending my gums to fit the new crown..HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! They tried to persuade me into 6 months of gum treatment with scare tactics..( Thank God I didn't fall for this) All though I walked away fearing that I possibly had gum disease. I then went to get my stitches out just to be informed that I had this new bill for over "Eleven hundred dollars". I wouldn't recommend any human being to this dentist. If there will be a class action suite include me I will testify openly!!!!

Helpful & Competent

by Daniel M.

I went to Dr. Rosenblatt with an inflamed molar. She took me out of pain and set up a plan to restore my dental health. I highly recommend her. The office staff was polite and helpful. I was given follow-up appointments which didn't conflict with my work schedule.

This office is very good

by Anonymous

This office sees hundreds of patients, satisfied and all.
The three who complained here were probably cheap
freaks who scared the dentist and eventually did not want to treat them with the exception of the last one, who got her on a busy day, it happens to all dental office.

I was at her office and it was just a pleasant experience. I do not know what these people are complaining about.
There are more than one way to skin a cat and when a doctor sees a problem with the tooth, there are many solutions to it. There's the short term solution of filling a tooth after a root canal, but they fail eventually because the standard of care is crowning ALL teeth after a root canal. So just because somebody went to another office and recommended a root canal and filling them afterwards and had a cheaper fee quoted does not make that office better. In the longterm, the "cheaper" office WILL end up costing you more because of the deviation from standard of care and the tooth will eventually crack. This is what happened to me and the doctor was very good in explaining this to me thoroughly.

As for the other complaint that the Dr Parker did not want to see the patient again, well that's probably because the patient stressed Dr Parker out completely and he did not want to treat that patient again, which is why the patient's future appointments with Dr Parker was cancelled. And
about Dr Rosenblatt telling the patient to go to the hospital for the emergency care on NON OFFICE HOURS, then the patient should have have said "thank you Dr Rosenblatt for that recommendation". She obviously cared enough to recommend to you to rush yourself to the hospital. She was not at her office (off hours) and the previous reviewer claimed she had an abscess infection. I would have been happy to go to the hospital and then see Dr Rosenblatt for follow up the next day or two during office hours. The doctor does not make house calls and if she did, its justifiable extra fees should be incurred by the patient. She has a life after work and
infections you have should be treated by the hospital.

I think most of you reviewers are mental freaks and with the exception of the last reviewer who just happened to be a the office during busy hours (bad day) IT HAPPENS TO ALL OF US. That's life. Price is NEVER a factor for a good office. Its the final outcome and sticking with standard of care that's important.

STAY AWAY- DANGER TO YOUR DENTAL HEALTH!

by Anonymous

My son had written a review in http://smilespanj.blogspot.com/ and wrote it with some mistakes. He had the basic ideas in it that have been in review for 14 months at the Attorney General's Office. I was told there were several cases against The Smile Spa, where people were definitely not smiling! There were many usurper's charges, that were put in after I paid what I was told.A bad root canal of my right front incisor ended up infected, and the emergency service was refused to me,an unethical and egregious decision, knowing of my heart condition. I want those with complaints to get in touch with me for a class action lawsuit. Please go to the blogspot address I gave.

I would give 0 stars if it were an option - CRIMINALS & NEGLIGENT

by SmileSpa B.

My family couldn't have had a worse experience with the criminals at the Smile Spa NJ. We have been working with the Attorney General for NJ for over a year on our complaint; it has taken over 6 months longer than expected due to the high volume of other complaintents. We are looking into starting a class action against these people. Please visit the site we setup to learn more and share other experiences.

unethical, lazy and greedy

by Anonymous

This is the worst dentist I have ever had the misfortune of experiencing. I took my young son in for a check-up. He had a cracked molar and fillings that needed replacement. Dr. Rosenblatt hurriedly waddled into the room, dropped her files all over the floor, then gruffly ordered her hygienist to pick them up (apparently because she was too important and too in a hurry to bend over to pick them up herself). She impatiently read through my son's chart, and without even looking into my sons mouth, barked out "he needs an extraction and three crowns", then quickly waddled back out again, without explaining to me any of what my son needed.

Three pediatric crowns, 3 root canals, and an extraction on a 6-yr old is nothing to sneeze at. I wanted more information, but Dr. Rosenblatt was running off to another room, and impatiently brushed me off. The hygienist who was very kind, apologetically tried to explain the x-ray results and what the procedures might entail. I wanted the dentist to explain to me any alternatives to the pediatric crowns, but it every time I tried to flag her down, she would bark one line answers at me. I was getting more and more agitated, especially knowing that my son was in pain from a cracked molar. My son got his tooth extracted in their office.

After I left Smile Spa, the anxiety I and my son endured was horrific. I even fainted from the stress of hearing my son screaming and moaning. The dentist had set the atmosphere in the entire office. Her staff was obviously stressed out from her rough, unprofessional, rude behavior. Dealing with Dr. Rosenblatt's "Smile Spa" has to be the single most stressful event in all my life (even worse than my childbirth experience!)

I eventually brought him to another dentist (Dr. Hade at Gentle Dentistry, Haworth, NJ), who recommended root canals and just refilling the teeth that apparently "needed crowns". The difference between the two practises was stark. We left that particular office (Gentle Dentistry, Haworth, NJ), calm and relieved and grateful for their professional caring. Such a difference from Dr. Rosenblatt's dungeons where gloom, doom, fear and anxiety is heavy in the air.
