I am one of those folks who drives two hours each way to dine at the Franklinville Inn. I am a foodie, and this Seafood Restaurant is one of the BEST in New Jersey. You must have a Crab Cake, and the Prime Rib is the best I ever had. The deserts are HUGE, more than enough for two, especially the Rice Pudding (Not always on the Menu--but ask for it) and the Pie ala mode which comes with four scoops of ice cream.
Enjoy, because I will be back. Closed Sunday and Mondays, make a reservation. Flea157

Everything from the appetizers to the desserts is excellent. Crab cakes, prime rib, filet mignon, chocolate mousse cake?.I??ve never had a bad meal there! The prices are a bit high but are well worth it for the quality of food and service you receive. I don??t know what the guy was writing who gave them only 1-star?maybe he should attend a grammar and spelling class before he is allowed to write any comments again!

The food is the Best around, hands down. But if you have small kids that need a high chair or booster seat you are out of luck. The don't have any nor are ever planning on getting them. Me and my wife stopped eating there because we are unable to bring our family. So if you are looking for a great meal as a couple or a group of adult then go there but if you are a young family then the library is the place to go.

The Franklinville Inn is an excellent place to dine. There Prime Rib is one of the best around and the biggest pieces of prime rib I have ever had. The price is a liitle high but well worth it. Get their early especially on weekends. They have a nice bar as well, which is nice before dinner.

I have eaten here a number of time and my taste buds have been very satisfied! The prices are a little on the high side but if you don't mind paying for great food, it's an amazing place to go to. It also has a great old feeling atmosphere.

It is thought to be very impressionable to announce an equisite list of so called "featured items", such as a glass of Wine making it a point to discribe the ingredients, place imported from (that's hard to guess), and date of the grape, etc.....assuming 90% of their guests are either unintelligent or really do make a discission on a Need-to-know basis. It is borderline insulting but yet a thoughtful suggestion. By the time my meal was delivered, my eyes were bigger than my stomach from listenening to the novel and the portions weren't even enough to fill a cavity. The evening I visited, a server spilled a beverage on a guest and apparently they were accomodated, from reading other reviews, I can clearly see how that server could have been so careless. My best work is done without a watchful eye! The instrument used to remove the crumbs off the table, I think that is over-doing the politeness of asking for an anormous tip.

I've never had a bad meal at Franklinville Inn. From the excellent service to the mouth-watering filet mignon, this is a 5-star dining experience. The intimate setting creates the perfect ambience for a romantic meal, while larger round tables have accommodated large parties of ours. I highly recommend the filet and crab cake combination with a side of mashed sweet potatoes. Save room for dessert, because they are fabulous!

This historic restaurant in the center of town is open for dinner in the evenings. Make reservations or go early because it fills up fast. The food is excellent with a wide selection of seafood, steak, chicken and pasta. Has a bar section where you can order sandwiches and socialize. Prices are on the high side but great for a special occasion or with a gift certificate.
