Finally found a sushi restaurant at the same level of sushi restaurants in Japan. Their sushi was fresh and tasty. I felt as I were eating suchi back in Tokyo.

I strongly recommend Japanese people in NJ & NY should visit Sakurabana.

I will keep the rating 4 until I visit next time.

Firstly - Sit at the Sushi Bar
Secondly - Try to get close to the left wall - it's the best seat in the house

Order the chef special sushi/ sashimi (I get sashimi) - Ken will put together his freshest assortment of fish. The chu-toro is always delicious and the amaebi is fresh - and they'll fry the head for you (if you are brave enough to eat it :))

Great Great Sushi

Great Great Sushi

Pros: Excellent Excellent Sushi

Cons: The seat by the wall by Ken isn't always available :)

I like their box lunches. They used to be the only jap restaurant in Ridgewood and we would only go there. Now there are too many other better places I think.
They are still good but always too crowded.

There is good sushi and sashimi here. This was one of the first place I came to when I first moved to New Jersey. It is on the outskirts of town, but very easy to find. It is good but nothing extra ordinary.

of all the fake japanese restaurants in Ridgewood, NJ, this is the only one with real japanese food. my husband and i love coming here with a bottle of our own chardonnay and fill up on their yummy sushi! come early or late or you won't get seated on fridays and saturdays.

Pros: real japanese food, yet affordable

Cons: come early or late if you want a table

This is probably the Sushi restaurant that has been around longest in Ridgewood- And there is certainly a reason for that. The sushi is fresh and always good. The prices are reasonable. The place is cute and the people incredibly friendly. The one con is parking in Ridgewood- But that is not the fault of this place. You may have to walk a bit to get here but it is well worth it. This place can get very busy- especially on a Friday or Saturday night.

PROS: good prices and fresh sushi
CONS: parking

Before sushi bars became so trendy that they ted every street corner in Bergen County, Sakura Bana took hold in Ridgewood and delighted customers with its fresh seafood and meals. If you are looking for reliable service, fresh fish, and a Japanese food experience, visit Sakura Bana.

Sakura Bana is the restaurant that introduced me to the illustrious California Roll. Now a sushi and sashimi addict, I was a novice on my first forays into Sakura Bana. Inside, the medium-sized eatery has efficient service and visible sushi chefs on staff. Complimentary tea is served as you peruse the menu. They offer what now would be considered "typical" Japanese menu items--miso soup, rolls, fatty tuna--and their food is always fresh. The prices are on the high side, but that does not seem to deter the crowds coming in for take-out and to dine in.

Because of Sakura Bana's committment to excellent food service and artistic preparation of sushi, this Japanese restaurant remains a staple in the community.
