I had been to the Empire Club on several occasions for children??s parties and for a wedding reception, so it was on the short list of places my wife looked to hire to celebrate my birthday and completion of my PhD. It was supposed to be one of those days with family and friends that was to rival our wedding.
On the morning of my party, my wife awoke to the news that her 31-year-old brother had passed away unexpectedly. I spent the next three hours calling the medical examiner, his employers, the over 100 guests I had invited, and dozens of other family and friends to inform them of the loss and to alert them to the party??s cancellation.
By 10AM, when I reached Arthur Yfantis at the Empire Club, I was exhausted, still in shock, grieving, and had already assumed we would lose the money for the party. There were only two blessing on that day. The first was that my wife and I were surrounded by extended family that had traveled in for my party and could now be counted on for support. The other was Arthur??s immediate response to my terrible news. He first offered his shock and condolences and then told me, ??Listen don??t worry about it. We will work it out, you won??t lose anything. We??ll cancel the party and work it out later. Just go be with your family.? My wife cried later that day when I told her of Arthur??s response.
Several days later, I called Arthur to see if I could switch the party to a lunch repast after my brother-in-law??s burial. He agreed, and credited me the difference between the two events without hesitation or penalty. He also accommodated the over 70 people who came to the repast with amazing food, flexibility, and service. Several commented that it would have been an amazing party had my brother in law not passed.
As many others can attest to, the Empire Club??s food, service, physical setting, and value are all excellent. My purpose in writing this letter is to express my family??s appreciation for Mr. Yfantis?? response to our tragedy and to testify as to the character and quality of people you will be dealing with if you choose the Empire Club for your next function.

A few days ago I attended a mid afternoon dinner at the Empire Club. My take away is that this was the worst food I've ever been served at what looked like a solid, well established business. It was the stuff that I suspect Gordon Ramsey would have spat out before ordering the place closed. It began with ravioli in vodka sauce, grossly overcooked, bland and disgusting. It was followed by a Caesar salad which I didn't taste. Don't like raw eggs and anchovies though who knows if they even use real ingredients. Then slimy chicken and salmon were brought to the table. The chicken was overcooked, hard and coated with some sort of slime sauce.. The salmon was dry and fishy. The sauce unappealing. I ate a total of three small bites of this garbage. Best advice, avoid this culinary hell hole. Don't give it a second thought. Maybe the next time it serves seniors, the management will think twice about what's being brought to the table. Oh and the ice cream desert had a slice of mystery slime coated apple appended to it. At a cost of $60.00 for two for this inedible swill, this place gets no stars at all from me.

I just celebrated my daughter Sweet 16 12/30/10. I had the wedding extravagance package. I have to say my party was EXCELLENT we had GREAT service. My guess were all very pleased with the food. They have raved about the cocktail hour and all say dinner was great! Make sure when booking your party that you have both Chris's running the show. Great Guys hat's off to both of them and the staff on that night, the complements don't stop coming. Thank you again for making my daughter's important night awesome!! Make sure to speak with Chris the owner's son before your party... HE WILL MAKE IT ALL HAPPEN.... Chris thanks again for everything....

I have attended many functions here - weddings, baby showers, wedding showers, anniverary parties - you name it. Every even I have ever been was excellent. The place is very nicely decorated and has very nice rooms. The only thing that needs a bit of improving are the bathrooms.

Besides this being my reception hall, I have been to numerous parties at this wonderful establishment. The food has always been delicious. They go out of their way for all of their customers. They made my night amazing. I would definitely recommend them.
