Dr. Maier took care of both my cats and dog. I love the small feel of the office, and the staff is very compassionate. When my dog was sick, and had to be put down, she was very caring. It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. Price wise, they are reasonable, but I have learned just from my own experience, as time goes on, its good to have pet insurance!! Very caring doc and staff. Love them.

I have taken my rats to her after I had awful service from other vets after dishing out tons of money and emergency visits. I didn't really care about the money I just wanted to know the truth. The other vets were frustrating because they neglected to be honest with me about how long they would live and weren't concerned with their comfort or condition, they were very old rats almost 4 years old and they just kept telling me to do this or that. Meanwhile, one after another they were dying. Dr. Maier was honest with me about their quality of life and how long they would live, something and I appreciated as all other vets failed at that and she properly diagnosed them. I now take my cats and dog to her. She has seen more than one of my animals for emergency visits and has been more than accommodating to come in to see them. I don't know how their prices are compared to other vets but I don't put a price on the health of my animals so that has never bothered me, this is the lady that spent $1,000 on a rats surgery, so it really doesn't seem expensive to me!

Dear Dr. Maier:

How can I thank you enough for the way in which you cared
for my dog (Honey). It was so important to me that Honey
was able to be cared for at a caring environment with such
an impeccably high standard of care, delivered with such
warmth. It was a pleasure speaking with you and meeting
your very competent staff-the conversation was extremely
informative.

Thank you for all the loving care you gave to Honey during her
stay at Animal Hospital Of Somerdale what a special place!
Thank you to each and everyone of you for the wonderful work
you do. I appreciate everything you have done and the time
you have taken to invest in our Honey's future.

I can't begin expressing how wonderful Dr. Maier and staff are!
I will recommend Dr. Maier to anyone that will listen. She is
the greatest! She provides great alternatives for treatment
and is very respectful of the client's wishes while keeping
the best interest of the animal's at heart always.

Worst experience! Had a very ill male cat, Took him to somerdale where they tested his blood and directed me to take him to the animal hospital. I did so, spent thousands of dollars on ultrasounds and tests, trying to figure out the problem, and save my cat. Over 2 weeks later, Somerdale calls me to say he has FIV. They had forgotten to call me! Worse, when my kitty's health really began to declilne, I took him back to somerdale to put him down, as I did not want him to suffer. The Dr. talked me out of it! Then just 3 days later, he died and suffered in my arms. Unprofessional, Incompetent, Awful! Save your pet, Do not bring them here

Dr. Maier is the worst vet I ever had the misfortune of seeing. I was searching for a vet who handled exotics and she seemed to get good reviews. Obviously reviews aren't always reliable!I took my hairless rat to her because he developed a lump that doubled in size in less than a week. I told her the growth was soft and movable and from what I've read on hairless rats these are 2 sure signs of a cyst. After doing a 30 second exam that I was charged $55 for, and not ever attempting to aspirate it. She informed me she was almost certain it was cancer and I should do a, close to $400, surgery ASAP. I assumed she was right and scheduled the surgery. Yesterday when I took Irving out of his cage I noticed a small black scabby area on the lump. This was yet another indication of a cyst or abscess. I called to inform her what I found and that I didn't want go through with the surgery due to the current change. I asked her receptionist to please have her call me to tell me why she would jump to putting a small animal like that under anesthesia without being certain it was necessary, and also how to proceed from here. She never had the courtesy to return my call. Obviously her concern is the bottom line not the animals welfare.

Our doctor was not Dr Maire but some older woman and she was so late for all her appointments and she was cold and rude. I would never consider going here again.

What a wonderful caring doctor that I can trust with my family dog. We had an emergence with our dog & we were really upset & they made us feel much more relax. My children were upset & they explained to them what had happened & what they would be doing to help our dog. I felt that my dog was very safe & well taking cared of there.

I took my cat here a few years back. We were new to the area and the doctor was so nice and friendly. Prices were low compared to a lot of other vet's.

Dr. Maier is the best vet we have used! There is a large emergency center going up literally within walking distance of our home. We tried going there once and they overmedicated our dog for a serious disease that she has. Although Dr. Maier is a much longer drive for us, we have returned to her and she has been working hard to repair the damage this other vet did. She is extremely knowledgable and loves her patients. On numerous occasions, she has personally called to follow up on things. She is all about patient care. She explains things clearly and takes your concerns seriously.

Dr Maier has been seeing my Labradors for years. She is very compassionate. The office is small but friendly. We have used the office for everything from OFA xrays, puppy shots, emergency care, etc.

I have taken my pets to this vet. The doctor is a woman. I found her to be very nice and compassionate. They are one of the few vets in the area that also treats birds. Their fees are very reasonable. I am very happy with this vet and I think all of my cats, dogs and birds are too! They have free samples of pet foods available in the examination room. Their samples are very generous sizes.

PROS: Affordable fees, compassionate female doctor, free pet food samples
CONS: none that I can think of!
