Great Adventure is a sure way to make your kids happy. Even my wife and myself enjoy all the rides. It's nice that they have some rides that are for the younger kids and they are separate from the older kids section. Food is expensive so plan on eating ahead of time. Bring your own bottled water cause that's expensive too. The parking lot is really huge and you can easily forget where you've parked your car. But it's a fun day out with the family.

PROS: lots of fun
CONS: lots of money

I came to Six Flags Great Adventure for the drive-thru safari, which far surpassed my expectations. However, at $19.07 (including tax) per occupant in your car, this adventure does not come cheap. Children will love seeing the animals as they walk up to your car. For example, seeing a giraffe in your sunroof is a special experience! Unfortunately, I did not see a single lion or elephant in this park, even though the information booklet says that there are elephants and lions here. The bird exhibit was nothing great, too. The safari lasts for about 2 hours if you drive slowly. (It is only 4.5 miles of road.)
The amusement park also has a lot of exciting rides, including the new Kingda Ka roller coaster and the Hurricane Harbor water rides.

You will have such a great time at Great Adventure. They have so many fun rides that you'll be busy all day. They also have some great shops to spend some money at and lots of great snack bars and restaurants. Granted, it's not nearly as much fun to come here as an adult as it is to come here as a kid, but it's still alot of fun. Be prepared by wearing comfortable shoes, bring sunscreen and a bottle of water. That will be a good start.

Years ago, this was a great place for great family fun. I no longer feel safe there. The place is TOO DARK at night, there are not enough employees to help you when you need one. The security there is horrible. The lines are too long just to get into the park. I stopped buying season passes. WHEN and IF the park becomes "SAFE" again, I will think about going back. Until then, I will NOT recommend this to anyone.

This is a really great day out. If you like rides you will not be disappointed. The only bad thing is that is it a little too expensive (admission and food) but the rides are great and if you can get in on an off day, the lines wont be too long. Try and go on a day where it looks cloudy, but no rain. you will breeze right through. There are always coupons available everywhere so you can get discounts.

If thrills is what you seek, thrills is what you can find here at Six Flags Great Adventure. From the ever popular Superman ride, Medusa and now the FASTEST and TALLEST rollercoaster IN THE WORLD is here...KINGDA KA. Also here is a great safari drive thru and close by is Hurricane Harbor. There are dolphin shows, white tiger shows and water stunt shows to entertain you as well. You may be sticker shocked at the food prices though. Come EARLY to get good parking (preferred $5.00 extra). There is also 2 separate places for younger kids to enjoy rides and get their thrills as well.

PROS: LOTS OF THRILL RIDES
CONS: price of entry is pretty steep.

Generally very clean, well-kept rides and amusements. Lots to offer for one general admission price. Many games inside will cost you extra though. And lots of concessions for food inside that are extra money too. Otherwise, large selection of great rides...enough to spend a full day, if not more, with kids. It can be expensive, but you can usually find coupons to use at the gate. Or they offer season passes as well. They take pictures upon your entrance and offer shows inside the park too. Enjoy!

The best way to go to Great Adventure is with a season pass (costs about $75). During some seasons, the concerts alone are worth the cost of the pass (almost all concerts in their amphitheater are free with admission). As for rides, don't miss the roller coasters. Best time to go is in the evening since most of the crowd has left by then (this is where the season pass comes in handy). In a matter of a few hours, you can get on all of the rides that you would otherwise have spent a ton of time waiting in line for during the day.

I have gone to Six Flags Great Adventure many times. I had a blast every time. There is so much to see and so much to do there. You can go see a concert. You can play games and win prizes. You can go on rides. There is an entire section for childrens rides. There are plenty of places to sit down and eat. There are water rides. Try it you'll like it!

PROS: Lot's to do, great entertainment, a load of fun.
CONS:

Six Flags has the best amusement parks. I have only been to the one in NJ. Six Flags Great Adventure. It is awesome! They have the best rides. My favorite ride is Nitro, blasts-off to 230 feet with a 215 foot dive back to Earth at hyper-speeds approaching 80 m.p.h. and it has a Mile long track. WOW!! What a rush!!! Nitro opened last year. And this year they are opening a new one called Kingda Ka. Is the tallest (456 ft.), fastest (128 mph in 3.3 seconds) roller coaster. I can't wait to try it.

PROS: Awesome Rides!
CONS: Food & Drinks are incredibly expensive.
