We adopted a dog from a shelter in Manhattan..she was obviously ill when we picked her up. We had an appointment with another vet's office, but because we were 15 minutes late due to the Manhattan traffic, they cancelled us. We called Freehold Animal Hospital on the chance that they might take us...and they told us to bring her right in! She was very ill and required extensive care. Due to the fact that she had to stay at the hospital for several days, she was treated by both Dr. Sadowski and Dr. Land. I cannot say enough about the wonderful care she received. The entire staff was professional and compassionate...and you could tell that they truly cared for her..that she was not just "business" for them. Our dog stayed at the hospital for 4 days, receiving IVs, medication, and nebulizer treatments every few hours. When we picked her up, we thought the bill would be astronomical! But, in fact, it was MUCH less than we anticipated for all the care she received! Also, for a week after we brought her home, they called us daily to check on her and her progress. I can't recommend them highly enough! Plus, our dog loves them! She is never afraid or nervous to go into the office and trots in wagging her tail! We will be using them exclusively for all of our furry family!! I have even recommended that my friends use them as well! I have had companion animals for 40 years, and I have never received such excellent service as I did here!

This review can best be summed up by a letter I sent to Dr. Sadowski:

    1/11/12

    Dr. Sadowski,

Last June my cat, Cherub, was sick and my wife and I brought her to your hospital for treatment. After an examination and x-rays, you recommended that we euthanize her. I wanted you to treat her, but you refused. I did not want to destroy her without giving her a chance and I would not allow her to be euthanized without a second opinion and medical treatment to relieve her condition. I took Cherub and went to the car while my wife paid the bill.

As I waited in the car, you told my wife that Cherub was suffering and that you were certain she would not survive through the night. You attempted to convince her that euthanasia of our cat was the only humane course of action.

Well, she did survive the night.

Luckily, our vet ?? who was on vacation at the time ?? came into the office the next day on an emergency and we were able to get an appointment for Cherub. He viewed the x-rays and treated her with lasix ?? the very medication I wanted you to treat her with. Within two days, she was revitalized and healthy.

Cherub received lasix orally in her food for the next 7 months. She was happy and healthy and my wife and I enjoyed that time immensely.

Unfortunately, Cherub??s underlying physical problem gradually caused her health to decline and she passed away at home last weekend, surrounded by those who loved her.

I just wanted you to know that had I agreed to euthanize her in June, like you recommended, Cherub would have been robbed of more than six months of life, and my wife and I would have been deprived of her companionship.

And it was all made possible by a simple shot of lasix and one 50 cent pill per day.

    Why wouldn??t you do that?

The only conclusions I can draw are that either you are the worst veterinarian on earth or you are a crook who didn??t want to let a sick cat get away if you had a chance to euthanize her.

If you are indeed the worst veterinarian on earth, you should be embarrassed. If you are a crook who puts profits above the well being of your ??patients,? you should be ashamed of yourself.

Rest assured that I will certainly take every opportunity to inform any potential clients about your ??modus operandi? at Freehold Animal Hospital, and I will single you out specifically.

The hospital is very nice and clean, also the receptionists were very friendly and helpful but Ive been to this place a couple of times and my first visit was drastically different than my second and thats what prompted me to leave a bad review.

My second visit unfortunately included dr sadowsky and she is the reason why i wont be going back. I understand that vet care is expensive but to charge almost $600 in total for my kitten to get neutered with 2 vaccines is ridiculous. I needed time to figure out funds since im a struggling mother of two and the dr had a snotty attitude to begin with and after i balked at the price she had a even bigger attitude .I might have paid those prices if she was friendly and understanding but her attitude , etc really put me off and if i didnt have two tired cranky hungry babies with me i would have told her off. Luckily I found a spay/neuter clinic that will neuter and give vaccines for around $100 and they were incredibly friendly and nice and didnt make me wait long at all.

im sure this dr might possibly be a very good vet but in my personal opinion she has a horrible beside manner and for those prices i expect a smile and a sunny dispostion. I hope she was just having a bad night and she is not like that to everyone. Good customer service is sorely lacking today and the only way to make that point is not going back and leaving my very humble opinion about my experience.

We have been taking our pets to the Freehold Animal Hospital now for many years. Dr.Land, Dr.Sadowski and Dr. McGee have all seen our furries at one time or another. We recently had to put our poor kitty, "Mandy," to sleep after 18 wonderful years with her. The receptionists and technicians were absolutely amazing and sympathetic with Mandy during her final hour. Dr.Land was so compassionate and eased our sadness by making it such a soothing and calming experience. Everyone was so good at helping us get though such a tough time. We are so grateful for the staff at Freehold Animal Hospital. They always surpass our expectations of quality pet care and expertise.

Will never go there again. Brought our cat in for an initial visit, a doctor came in the room for all of five minutes and then sent a tech in to spend the next half hour going over the invoice and trying to sell various medications etc. The next visit our cat was scheduled to be spayed, the office failed to call and tell us that the dr. scheduled was on vacation. We convinced them to have another doctor do it instead of having to chase down our cat to bring her to the vet a second time (she was terrified). After the spaying we asked about an ecollar, they told us it wasn't necessary etc...sure enough a week later we brought her back, her sutures had opened and she had an infection. The corrective surgery was several hundred dollars. The office and staff are unprofessional and only concerned with making money, if you care about your pet DO NOT bring them here!

I have been using Freehold Animal Hospital for over 40 years, For our dogs, cats, birds, rats and more. They are the best to be found! Diagnosis skills are excellent and you could not ask for more caring, personal attention. Dr. Tullio, as well as the other vets certainly go the extra mile to provide exceptional care. Most of their office staff are pleasant. I travel over 30 minutes to have our pets cared for by Freehold Animal Hospital and will continue to make the trip as long as they are available to me. I highly recommend their services.

I have been bringing my whippets to Dr.Gloth for over 30 years. He is the best vet around. I groom dogs, and know of the other vets, and Dr.Gloth is the best. He has saved everyone of my dogs lives. Very caring man.

I recently brought my dog over to Freehold Animal Hospital to get checked by a real doctor after visiting the vile and uncaring Briarwood facility in Howell. The so-called doctor at Briarwood treated my dog like it was a rag doll. Never in my life have I seen such poor conditions in a animal hospital. The staff was awful and Dr. Menez was a complete MORON!!! If you want a staff that cares, and a clean environment for your animal, I would highly recommend Freehold Animal Hospital. Dr. G is the best!!!

Cared for our first two dogs - primarily by Dr. Gloth. Provided very good care. The staff especially liked our Rhodesian Ridgeback, Jackson, even when he got loose and visited everyone in the waiting room!

I have been using the expertise of Dr. Gloth for over 30 years with our various pets. I can't think of taking my pets to anyone else. I have often told him that when he retires I will have to stop having pets. I have so much confidence in him. I have a diabetic cat who was diagnosed 6 yrs ago with the disease and she is still with me because of his care. I have friends that have left the Freehold area and moved to states out west and they still call him for consultations. I cannot recommend him more highly.

My family has brought animals here since I was a young child. They hire very caring and knowledgable doctors. My Bichon had a leg surgery here to help him with a dislocating knee. He did great and the problem never returned. The front office and doctors are very compassionate when it comes to having to put an animal down. They treat them like family members.

PROS: caring, knowledgable doctors and staff

I have been using the Freehold Animal Hospital since my parents had dogs. They are friendly, care about the animals and most imporatant the return a phone call, and waiting is minimal.

I have always used Dr. Gloth, but have on occasion had to use one of the other doctors, and they are all so sweet.

My girls (two pit bulls) are well loved by all here. THey are not misdiagnosed, or miss treated. They treat the animal, and love my two girls.

I don't think their pricing is any higher than others in the area.

PROS: very sweet, new facility and love the animals
