There are a lot of really great Italian restaurants in this area, so it is not that this one is bad, it just isn't amazing 'bang for your buck' compared to other places in the area. The setting is meant to create a romantic-ish ambiance, but I think it's a little dark for my liking. A plus is that they serve sorbet as a palate cleanser between appetizer and the main course, which I think is interesting. The food is good, a little more pricey than I would prefer, but overall a satisfactory experience. Just not my favorite place in the area.

Mario's is the place to go if you want authentic Italian cooking. The owners are always on hand and welcome any suggestions or comments you may have although, according to my experience, they would only be postive anyway. The setting can be quite romantic if you let your waiter know you would prefer not to be bothered and to seat you in a "dark corner". Priceses are moderate so it won't set you back too much in your pocketbook!
I would go, if you are in the neighborhood.
