My car broke down over the weekend, when they were closed. They returned my phone call before 8 am Monday to say they could do the work THAT DAY.
When I drove my ailing car into the garage, I walked in on a conversation between the mechanic and an older woman getting ready to drive to New York in her newly repaired car. From the conversation, I gleened two things: First, this woman loved them. Second, the mechanic was a respectful guy.
I left my car there, and before noon they'd called me with a full breakdown of all that they'd found, what it would cost and a promise they could be done by 6 p.m. that day.
It was a fast, friendly, and efficient experience. Can I get an amen?

So, we all know times are tough and despite my desire to "stimulate" the economy, I'm not going to be able to purchase a new car for awhile, so last week I took my 9 year old car here for an oil change and a comprehensive inspection.
From my first call to make an appointment, I was impressed. It was so nice to feel so respected and welcomed in their shop - I've been to some in the past where the atmosphere was very condescending, which is their loss because I will never go back. Never dismiss the power of the purse!
After they completed the oil change and inspection, they called me and explained, in order of priority, the items they uncovered that needed to be fixed and why. They also told me what could wait and how long they could wait. I asked them to complete a couple of the less expensive and more urgent options, and you can bet that I will be coming back to West Chapel when it's time to address the larger ticket items.
West Chapel Auto gets an A+ - from the initial phone contact, to the very helpful free ride home, to the finished product and everything that happened in between.
I would recommend them to all my friends, and even my enemies if I was in a particularly charitable mood. :)

I had a wonderful experience at WEST CHAPEL AUTO SERVICE. I was very new to the area, and I did alot of research on auto repair shops in the area, and I decided to go to this one. The people were very nice, and Jay, the owner was the nicest mechanic I have ever met. He understood my concerns, explained the problems with my car and gave me more than a fair price. He was very concerned about making sure that my car was returned to me in the best possible condition so that it would be reliable and safe. The shop was very clean, and had an accommodating and relaxed atmosphere. I appreciated the fact that he explained everything in a way that I understood. I was very happy with my car, and I will definitely return to his shop.

I've never written a review before but the guys at West Chapel Auto deserve to know that they're doing a great job. My BMW has never run better. They do great work, they're friendly and reasonably priced. They even gave me a ride to work which I really appreciated. Do yourself a favor and see these guys if you have a BMW or any kind of imported car.

My wife and I are planning a move to the west coast to spend time getting to know some family. We travel a lot, but have never embarked on a voyage this big. We plan on taking our time and have been putting a lot of money into our 2000 Jeep Cherokee by my regular mechanic in Philly. Suddenly, after getting many much needed repairs done to it, the transmission seal began to leak profusely. Well, we were just not expecting this at all. My regular mechanic won't touch the tranny and suggested I start looking for someone trustworthy in my area. After talking to some very shady transmission guys in the Cherry Hill area we came to West Chapel Auto since it was right up the street from me. They looked at the leaks for me and made some suggestions for us and were very helpful as I explained our situation. The price for the repairs he gave us was very fair, my mechanic confirmed this for me. We could afford it, but it was going to make things very hard on us. Jay made a suggestion to me that I could not believe I heard him say; he suggested we try going to a commercial chain transmission place, not because it would cost me less, but because if I were on the west coast and something happened I could go to any of the chain places out there where the warranty for the work would still be honored. I never go to these kinds of places, I look for professionals who have an honest relationship with their customer. But his suggestion to me suggested that he cared more about making sure we weren't stuck in the middle of nowhere without the means to go through this again instead of just getting the job from us. I wish I could have given them my business and let them know I wanted them to fix it but what he said to us made sense and it was something I hadn't considered. And by going to the quickie place I am saving a little bit but I'd much rather pay Jay to do it knowing how honest he is. I can truly say that you can trust this place, these are great people with great values and they care about you and your car.

Jay at West Chapel Auto has the rare combination of skill, integrity, and knowledge that just cannot be found in the world of automotive service. In many years of having my vehicles serviced by Jay, I cannot remember a bad incident, running a fleet of 5 to 13 trucks plus personal cars, when we have a problem Jay has always done a superior job of keeping us on the road. I recommend West Chapel Auto to anyone with any automotive issues, in fact, if your present mechanic can't solve it, Jay and his crew at West Chapel will. I recently moved to New Jersey from Chicago and was not looking forward to the hunt for a new mechanic. I had read a couple of review of West Chapel Auto, so I thought I'd give them a try-- I'm glad I did! I have a 2000 BMW 328, and have made several long distance trips this year, so I needed quite a bit of work done. The service was friendly, honest, and faster than I had expected. I'll definitely be using West Chapel as my new mechanic.

I had my car serviced at West Chapel Auto and was very impressed with the service and quality of repair. These people are very accommodating. I waited for a diagnosis to see how long the repair was going to take. The waiting area is very comfortable.After the diagnosis, they recommended I leave the car, and they gave me a ride to work. When the car was finished, they called me, explained the repair, and the price was exactly what they quoted me. They also picked me up at my work. I am very happy with the service and really appreciate all of their help.

I have had all kinds of work done at West Chapel, from oil changes to a complete engine replacement. It is not easy to find an auto service facility that you can trust your car as well as your bank account to. Jay has gone out of his way not only for us but also for our neighbor who is handicapped. His integrity is unquestionable and his workmanship is excellent. He stands behind everything that he does and is fair in the process. I have tried to explain to my daughters that to find someone like Jay is not only rare but is very special. When you find someone like that it important to support them. Let me ask you. What do you look for when choosing a mechanic? Well, I want someone who is knowledgeable, reliable, and trustworthy. West Chapel Auto is the place ! About 6 years ago, my mechanic of many years was nearing retirement and I was very concerned about finding another honest place. At that time I had just returned from the Chevy dealer who failed to figure out my problem with my air conditioner and ripped me off for about $125. I checked the yellow pages and saw an ad for West Chapel and their expertise with air conditioners. Well, I met Jay Flanders, and was instantly won over with what I recognized as a fair, honest and reliable mechanic and person. And I feel his prices are equal to other places, if not less, and that's great. I feel if you get a lower price somewhere else then you are getting lower quality. I've always been one who believes that you have to pay to get the job done right. I've had a few difficult car problems to figure out over the years, and Jay had kept at resolving the issues and has always come through. He's attentive to your individual problems. There might be others out there, but a good mechanic is hard to find. Well, there's no need to look further than Jay at West Chapel Auto ! And I love his Saturday hours !

I began taking my car to WEST CHAPEL AUTO about five years ago. I was a starving student at the time and Jay did everything he could to give me the best deal in town. He's been my mechanic ever since and has, through the years become a good friend. It's not every day that you find a mechanic that is not only honest, but really great at what they do. Not only does the job get done right the first time, but the speed at which the work gets done is remarkable. Thanks to Jay and the crew at WEST CHAPEL AUTO, my car is the last thing on my mind.

I browsed online and came across WEST CHAPEL AUTO. I trusted what I read and I gave them a call. Lorena answered. I totally trusted them from the start based on the friendly and gentle tone of her voice. I told her my problems. She told me to bring the car right in and drop it off. I was surprised they were able to take me on short notice. I got my radiator replaced, an entire windshield replaced, my side mirror replaced, and an oil change...and it was all done by 6PM. Jay has good connections and was able to get parts and get the job done thoroughly and efficiently. He is someone you can trust and I highly reccommend him if you need to get your car fixed and a reasonable price with a friendly attitude and the job done in no time at all! They understood my need to have my car back the same day and waited untill 6:45pm for me to pick it up. Thanks guys!!!!

I took my car to WEST CHAPEL AUTO based on a friend's recommendation, and I am so glad I took his advice! Jay was fair, honest and efficient. He repaired my car on time, and it cost me less than I was quoted elsewhere. I was so glad that I went to him! i think this may be the best mechanic and shop ive found. Ive had 4 repairs and Jay has been nothing but honest and fair. you pay for what gets fixed, diagnosis is fast and fair, repairs are done quick, appointments are relatively easy to get, everyone has a great sense of humor, staff is super professional, cant really think of anything else. We just got our car back from WEST CHAPEL AUTO SERVICE today; my husband and I had brought it to 3 other garages, including the dealer, and nobody knew how to deal with the problems we were having with it. The first place wanted to do an engine rebuild, and the dealer just threw parts at the problem, did unnecessary repairs and charged through the roof. Not only did Jay fix our car, (which is now driving PERFECTLY), but he also explained everything that he did, and even took photos of the process. Jay has all of the qualities you would want in a surgeon, a chef, ...or a mechanic. HE IS INTELLIGENT AND PASSIONATE ABOUT HIS WORK, he communicates well, and he listens. I love the service I recieve at WEST CHAPEL AUTO SERVICE!!. My neighbor recommended this shop to me after I was complaining about my old shop trying to charge me a price I wasn't comfortable with. I went WEST CHAPEL AUTO SERVICE on a last minute basis, they were about to close up, but waited for me. they repaired my a/c, and they are now the family repair shop. I recommend them to everyone. They are honest people and won't over charge you. They explain everthing in detail to you about the repairs you need. And give you the option to repair or not to repair. Jay and Lorena run the best garage in Cherry Hill. I currently live in Phila. and still return to this place when I have a need. They have been trustworthy, prompt, and fair. Lorena and Jay have been able to give advice over the phone and have always been a pleasure to deal with. If you are looking for a garage where you DON'T feel like you are being ripped off, this is the one.

GREAT FIRST TIME EXPERIENCE!!!

This was my first time going to West Chapel Auto. I am new to the area and found their info through City Search. I took my Honda Accord to them to have a new radiator and belts put in. In my dealings, I found them to be professional and competent. ? They called with an estimate before they began work ? More importantly, the estimate was accurate! ? They replaced parts that needed it and reused others that did not. ? My car was finished in the time they quoted me. ? I found the prices to be fair. (I normally try to work on my vehicles myself and had already taken the time to price out most of the parts that were replaced.) ? They called to tell me when my car was finished. I think the thing that impressed me most was that they took the time to clean all the connections on my battery and applied some anti corrosive spray. It probably took them an extra five minutes, but it speaks to the fact they might do more than what is required. I plan on using them again in the future. Thank You

I went to WEST CHAPEL AUTO SERVICE based on reviews I read online. Jay is the best and most honest mechanic around. I've been ripped off enough times to truly appreciate a mechanic that does things the right way. In the 2 times that I've taken my Nissan Pathfinder to WESTCHAPEL AUTO, they easily could have justified charging me more money. Instead, they fixed what needed to be fixed in a timely manner for a fair price. What more could you ask for? I won't go to anyone else. Thanks!!

A mechanic you can trust

I have been taking my car to WEST CHAPEL AUTO for 3 years now. The first time I went in was to get my brakes checked. They were honest about which one's i "needed" done immediatly and which ones i "had more time" with. They had my car done in just a couple of hours and there prices were right on target. Since then, I've been taking my baby there for routine oil changes and tune-ups. She's still going... Thanks JAY!!!

A very good neighborhood repair shop

I went to WEST CHAPEL AUTO SERVICE for a brake job and my overall experience was positive. They took my car in right away and examined it. Not only did they tell me what the problem was, Jay took me into the shop and showed me what was wrong with my car. He showed me what they needed to do to correct my problem. He gave me a complete breakdown of parts and labor, which was a very reasonable amount. I was impressed with the one on one service I recieved, because they were very busy and Jay took the time with me to make sure I understood everything. I left there a very satisfied customer. I have taken my car in to many mechanics and have either been lied to or given estimates that were over priced or did not reflect the work being done. I read the reviews on WEST CHAPEL AUTO SERVICE and decided to give them a shot. I was really impressed at how knowledgeable Jay was when it came to my car. I took my car in to get my air conditioner fixed and Jay was able to identify the problem in half a day. He explained the issue to me in a way that made sense and took care of the problem at a fraction of the price that I expected to pay. If you want a mechanic that really knows their stuff and does exactly what is needed at a great price, take your car to Jay. Great service, very knowledgeable and friendly people. I have been through many repair shops recently and nobody could fix my car. I only spent a lot money. West Chapel Auto fixed it in few hours for just fraction of money other had been asking. I was very pleased with service (make sure you ask for Jay - he knows a lot about cars and its problems). I DRIVE 50 MILES TO COME HERE

I have been taking my cars to Jay's for more years than I care to recall. They are an hour drive from my home. He has NEVER disappointed. He, and everyone in his shop, know what they are doing and do it well, efficiently and always at a price that pleases. Jay never pads his estimates, never inflates the problem, never cons you on the time it will take to do the job and always deals straight. I have brought him my BMW , Hondas and Toyotas, each in turn, and felt secure in just leaving the car there and having him check it out and deal with whatever issues he finds. When I return to pick up the car he gives me a price that I am convinced is an honest price. (Yes, I've checked on that from time to time and he has always come out ahead.) I trust him completely; he is a man of honor and integrity. We thank him for his hard work and dedication to us. THANKS JAY!!!

I was very very happy to be referred to WEST CHAPEL AUTO. I felt taken care of, not cheated, and told honestly what was going on with my car. Jay fixed my car as needed, and no more. He told me there was more that could and should be done, but that it wasn't necessary which allowed me to make a decision based on my budget, yet feel that I was safe. Jay's a great guy, and not out to take advantage of people. He'll fix your car correctly and not do more than needs to be done. I highly recommend WEST CHAPEL AUTO.

I took my car in this past summer after finding them on google and I must say that all the reviews were accurate. I went in and told them the symptoms and they took their time with me explaining a few of the solutions and what course can be taken. They also went out of their way to take me on a small tour of the facility. I think that was to assure me that my baby would be in good hands and it was. They even replaced a brake light that I hadnt noticed was out. My wife just called them for another issue about the car and she was pleased with the patience and respect she received while she asked a few questions. They have earned my trust and whenever I can I talk about my great experience. I am sure if you use them you will have the same experience

Fast quality service...No Waiting...Replaced my exhaust system on the spot.Jay was very knowledgeable and friendly and was more than happy to walk me through the entire repair process from start to finish. Jay seemed to have a better understanding of my car than the dealership and completed the job for 40% less than the dealership estimate. Lots of happy customers coming in and out while I waited for my car.

HONEST MECHANIC

I bought my first car ever, without knowing enough about it and made the mistake of not checking it out properly beforehand. Needless to say i got scammed, and was left with a car needing substantial repairs. In this hopeless situation I was dreading the experience of going to a mechanic, but found WEST CHAPEL AUTO SERVICE here on citysearch and decided to take it there to see what could be done. I was met with honesty and understanding, although they were quick to point out my mistake of not checking a used car out properly before buying. I decided to bite the bullet and do the necessary repairs. What was done was done, and WEST CHAPEL AUTO would help me sort it out. I handed the car in on a Monday, and on Wednesday I got the call telling me everything was ready. Very quick service indeed, and absolutely NO bs in the process. They were straight and upfront about costs, and why the repairs where needed. When I came to pick it up, the lifted the car up and showed me what they had done plus showed me the old broken parts. I left a happy customer. A couple of thousand dollars poorer, but with a great running car, itemized bill and a huge weight of my shoulders. Later in the evening, they called me up just to ask if the car was running ok and if I was happy with everything. Amazing. You won't find that kind of concern for your customers at many places(regardless of business) in this country. I strongly recommend these guys.

I have been using WEST CHAPEL AUTO SERVICE for over a decade. I trust him enough to take my car in, say "do whatever it needs" and I know I will NEVER be ripped off! They are very thorough and even take the time to explain everything to me!!! Highly recommended!!!!

I'd just like to thank the guys at WEST CHAPEL AUTO SERVICE for their fine work and their help, when I was in need. My grand daughter was visiting from Virginia and had a problem with her car. We called for towing service and expected only the worst. The guys came out and towed the car immediately, and fixed the car as soon as it got in the shop . Small town service in Cherry Hill, I did not believe it was possible. Thanks again for your help. My granddaughter made it home safe and sound.

Poor quality

Not happy with service or quality of work. Cheap parts used. Had problems later down the line & took it somewhere else. Found out that some things weren't done that should have been. I think the guy that works there did the actual work, not the owner.
Pros: Ability to speak with owner
