Another perspective: The Morris Museum is one of New Jersey's oldest and most active arts and cultural institutions, an award-winning, family-oriented institution offering programs in the arts, science, history and theater.

The museum (known as New Jersey's 3rd largest) includes the Georgian-style Frelinghuysen mansion designed by Stanford White and galleries for permanent and changing exhibitions which explore the arts, sciences and humanities, and in-house collections that reach beyond 40,000 objects.

The museum is also home to the permanent exhibition Musical Machines & Living Dolls: Mechanical Musical Instruments and Automata from the Murtogh D. Guinness Collection; which includes musical boxes, musical automata, nickelodeons, player piano's & even a nearly 10' tall European Dance Hall Orchestrion from c.1914.

The only collection of its kind in the Western Hemisphere, the exhibition contains approx. 150 objects (from a 750 object coll.) of stunning craftsmanship and hands-on experiences for visitors of all ages. Live demos of collection pieces take place daily, Wed. - Sun. at 2 pm. You have to see & hear them to believe its all just 1hr. drive from Times Square!

Yes, this is a small museum but they have interesting exhibits and they focus on the history of the Morristown area and other nearby towns. Stop in for a quick visit.

This is a small museum that isn't really worth the trip. They have SOME interesting things, like old wedding dresses, but other than that, it is pretty boring and not really interesting. I would not recommend.
