Nice ambiance, pleasant staff and very good food. I was especially please with how fresh the food was for a small restaurant and the intimate, casual setting was very relaxing. Will definately visit again soon.

Pros: Fresh food, clean place, excellent service

Cons: Hard to get reservations

The chef Danny always delivers a sensory delight- the menu is innovative, fresh, and delicious, served perfectly. The staff doesn't rush you out the door, which means you can enjoy your meal along with your own wine (they don't have a liquor license).

I've gone here perhaps two dozen times, and have never been disappointed.

Pros: Food is amazing, Staff is attentive & doesn't rush you, BYOB

Cons: I live too far away & can't go there every week

We tried out La Spiaggia because of the amazing reviews on CitySearch and Zagat (26!), but were sorely disappointed with our overall experience. I will say that the service was very good, for a restaurant that had poor decor, and bad food. The waiters, and backservers, are all young, polite, and good looking, and good at their jobs. The menu was standard Italian, with a very limited basic pasta menu, which I thought odd. I got the Shrimp appetizer, smelled distinctly like something I smoked in college, but did not get me high. Minus two. I also got the Spaghetti with meat sauce, which really may have been out of a can. Add a dollop of riccotta in the middle, and you have yourself a school lunch at P.S. 132. Note, we went to the restaurant in the off-season (November), when the real chef may not have been there. I hope that was the case. Not recommend.

This intimate restaurant has a surprisingly different menu of Italian specialties. Besides having a superb regular menu, the nightly specials are creative and so delicious. One particular dish from the nightly special featured calamari and fresh pasta in a light cream sauce. This is a BYO restaurant, and yet the waiters are very knowledgeable about wines. The waiters are attentive and friendly.
