I'd have to agreed with people that stated bad experiences at Steve's Moped. Their prices are very high, professionalism is very bad. In 2014 I took my moped to them to get it started from a previous repair/upgrade they did (I notice bad vibs back than). I had 3 to 4 techs working on the moped each giving me different status and problem reports (no coordination). I finally asked to speak with Steve the owner.

Steve was to return my call. He never did. I was finally able to catch him to see about final repair timeframe and 100% satisfactory results (I never met this man before). On the call he never let me open our discussion. He didn't know the history of the moped and did not care to know and was basically arrogant and disrespectful the whole time on the call. During that call he explicitly stated he didn't run the moped shop and hence distanced himself from operations and never really acknowledged himself as the owner of the business.

I went to pick up Moped. I found Steve there working around the shop he said he was rarely in. I asked one of the techs if he was Steve. He would not acknowledge that he was Steve the owner. I asked one of his employee was Steve always like that and the answer was they can't control him which I found to be a very odd response and troubling. Further, Steve did not stand still long enough to speak with his paying customer but was more than willing to get the moped out of his shop.It still does not work to expectation. That moped I have had since I was 18 years old (over 25 years) so I truly know how the bike performs

My moped always ran fine before allowing Steve's Moped to work on it. I took very good care of the bike prior to Steve. They damaged a bike that needed basic care and didn't do work requested. Finally, I find it odd this business states they work on Moped of the stated age as shown on the web in their advertisements.

The moped still does not work to expectation. That moped I have had since I was 18 years old (over 25 years) so I truly know how the bike performs.

bought a moped a while back, maybe 2 years ago.
They were out of stock like usual.
So they said they'll order one for me.
they said 2 weeks tops.
its been like 5 weeks, and they finally got it, and to put the handle bars on the moped it took them like another week.

fianlly got it after like 6 weeks.

then! my first service, said it will be done in 2 days.
Its been 2 weeks, not even started?

hoorrriiibbbleee... i the the last couple of services my self just to save time and money.

they over charge on alot of things.
and only teenagers work there, so they don't give a poop about anything.

and if you want something to get fixed, like a 3 wheeler or something like that, they charge you before its done, so if they say " hey, i dont wana mess with that", you pik up your 3 wheeler, but no refund..

Very Bad.
Overcharged me $200.00 for a simple tune up. And I don't know if he did it at ll. . Got very mad when I questioned the price. Make sure you agree to a price before getting repairs done.
Be careful!!

Very mean. Doesnt have ANY new mopeds for sale nor does he have any good bicycles. Used to sell trek? What happened? Bike shops are supposed to be happy.

Absolutely the worst customer service. The store is run by arrogant teenagers who run interference for Steve.
The price for repair parts were highly inflated as were his labor charges.
They don't return calls, and it took three weeks for them to partially complete the scheduled repair.
If you have a problem Steve has his" high school boys" brush you off.
I would not do business with this shop in the future!

Worst customer service I have ever encountered. The first time I walked in I was told they had already closed and they could not help me that day. The second time (should have know better) I was told full service would cover repairs then was charged for parts. As far as I tell the business is run by kids who do not know how to communicate with customers. Completely unprofessional, I do not recommend having any service performed at this store.

I took my moped in for a service and to get some parts put on, He said it would take 3 days but it ended up being 2 weeks and to make things worse everytime I would call the would put me on hold and when they answered they would say to call back tomorrow and the next day I was unable to reach them because their phone line was disconnected. Just DREADFUL!

Horrible! just HORRIBLE! I went there to inquire about a man's bike in blue, they said they could order it for me. I called one week later to follow up and not only did they not find anything, they never called me to tell me they weren't planning on searching anymore! RUDE! and unprofessional

I Purchased parts from them that I thought would have been in stock well over a month ago and still no parts. I call them on the phone to ask for updates and they are consistently rude and try to get off the phone as quick as possible. Also any shipping charges from them are sky high. They are the only USA store to have Solex parts so we are all stuck but if there was another way I would do it in a heart beat.

I bought a moped from Steve's last year and got a great sale price, plus they hooked me up with 1-year no interest/no payments financing! They also shipped it to me for at a reasonable cost.

When I took it back for routine servicing, they were pretty slow finishing the work. Since then, I've been learning to service and upgrade the bike myself and have ordered parts from these guys a few times. They've been super helpful over the phone, provided loads of good information, and orders have all shipped out same day.

It takes guts to sell mopeds and parts these days, although the tide seems to be turning gas price wise. Calling Jimmy Carter!! Welcome to 1979. Steve's does a good job selling to the internet market, which I'm sure takes a toll on a small company that maybe has 5 employees at the main location to answer phones, fix bikes, ship,etc. They will answer your questions on the phone, talk to you, and try to point you where you need to go. This is probably the main reason that shipping is a little slow. Good Job overall.

It takes guts to sell mopeds and parts these days, although the tide seems to be turning gas price wise. Calling Jimmy Carter!! Welcome to 1979. I've only utilized the bicycle portion of this store, but from my experience, this place is great. The staff is very knowledgable and is very helpful to find whatever you might need -- from helmets, to a new seat, to a new bike all together. The prices are fair as well. The store can get a little crowded on the weekends in the summer, but it's nothing that bad. If you need a bike repaired, this is the place to come.
